Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

Now whose brilliant idea was that so that you couldn't save right after you catch the legendary and view its nature? I have no money and I still need about 178 more pokeballs to fill the rest of my boxes.

*sigh, continues catching patrats and lillipups*

Does anyone know of a way to make more money? I've already sold all my nuggets to the ore guy and my mushrooms to the gourmet lady.

Couldn't you just catch it, lose to N and check?

Does anyone else find BW to be harder than other generations in-game? I used to breeze easily through the in-game, very easily. I'd rarely be pushed, and I'd never lose, and would never have to use items, even in the Elite Four.

But in BW, I've found it harder. Is it just me?

I found it fluctuating. Sometimes it's harder, sometimes it's easier. Probably one of the harder post-games, I guess.

Also probably depends on your team.

Actually, yes, I think that's it! I've been using favourites this time round, when I usually use the best Pokemon I can find that look okay (my HG team was both) :D

Metagross is kicking ass like no tomorrow, probably gonna go catch another Pokemon I wanted before I proceed battle further trainers/go to legendaries.

I was gonna raise Shellder, but since I wanted Rock Blast, it must be bred with a Rock Blast Water 3 Poke, which I don't have, even if I did, I just don't see me raising it from scratch just to "try it out". I guess I might decide later forgo Rock Blast, but right now going to look for other things probably.

Current team (left that flaming monkey do whatever in the PC with young Pokemon)
Metagross aka Metagame@Leftovers lv 70
Zekrom aka Nigga lv 52
Archeops aka Morm lv 56
Scrafty aka Sup@Shell Bell lv 60
Samurott aka Wotter@Mystic Water lv 51

1. get a fighting type (like Throh, Sawk, Emboar, Mienshao, you SHOULD have one of these)
2. go to the area outside Pinwheel Forest
3. walk in deep in the outside area until you see a large rock.
4. interact with it every day for a free star piece
5. sell to the gentlemen in icirrus
6. ???
7. PROFIT!!!!

After literally days of searching I`ve finally found where Dragonite and Milotic can be found, by Fishing in rippling water outside Dragonspiral Tower and on Route 1 respectively.

Also, is it possible to get a Sun Stone before visiting Dragonspiral Tower and returning to the Resort Desert. I rather want my Lilligant to know Quiver Dance.

You can get a free Sun Stone in Nimbasa city, someone there gives it to you.

According to Bulbapedia you can get one in Nimbasa City by talking to a man in a house north of the poke centre.

EDIT: Ninja'd. =/

Just entered Iccirus City with the following:
Servine: Lv33 Tackle/Leaf Blade/Leech Seed/Growth
Scraggy: Lv35 Sand Attack/Faint Attack/Chip Away/Hi-Jump Kick
Tirtouga: Lv35 Aqua Jet/Smack Down/Crunch/Curse
Cofagrigus: Lv35 Ominous Wind/Haze/Will-O-Wisp/Hex
Galvantula: Lv36 Slash/Electro-Ball/Signal Beam/Gastro Acid
Vanillish: Lv36 Uproar/Ice Beam/Taunt/Mirror Shot

Fairly solid team there, some Pokemon can be pretty annoying, but those are usually dealt with pretty easy, & with several evolutions coming up pretty soon, this will be a very strong party...imo.

While I'm at it, a question concerning the final battle with Cheren in Victory Road post-E4: Serebii says it's a one off encounter, while another source says you can fight him once a day. Which one is true?

you can him fight every day

So does this game run parallel with RSE? It's certainly after gens I,II, and IV. It doesn't feel like Gen III came out too long ago, but now that I think about it, it's almost been 10 years ._. I guess it's possible we'll see a RSE remake to go along with this sometime soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that RSE was contemporary, because existing timelines just throw it in with Gen III just because there's no evidence of the contrary.

Until a Hoenn remake is made that makes TMs infinite use, however, the Hoenn games are alongside Generation I because the TM buff is an important timeline landmark.

guys

Something that I thought may support the idea of Gens 3/5 running simultaneously came from a Team Galactic member in N's Castle. He says something to the effect of "Team Rocket and Team Galactic were fools. They drew too much attention to themselves". This automatically places Gen 5 ahead of Gens 1, 2, and 4 because...well the exploits of those teams have already happened and are well-known even in the faraway land of Unova. You could maybe make a case that Team Rocket was around and well-known before R/B/Y, but that still doesn't explain Galactic which is assuredly after Team Rocket fell (for the first time at least).

Why wasn't Team Magma or Aqua mentioned though? Surely trying to resurrect gods of the land and sea respectively and causing a huge drought/tsunami across an entire continent would be well known. I assume this is because the events of Gen 3 are happening concurrently or a little before or after the events of Gen 5.

Just a thought.

I thought the effects of Team Magma/Aqua were only localized around Sootopolis City, with the player taking care of it before it spread too much.

Though you'd think that would still be in the news.

Is anyone else really excited for the inevitable platform game? This game has allowed me to see that Pokemon games can be amazingly good instead of "just" Pokemon games. Hopefully they'll make a game that's a combination of Colosseum with a stand alone adventure mode and Pokemon Stadium with challenging stadiums and fun mini-games. Maybe the battle animations wont suck, either.

Gen III is contemporary with Gen I, as Celio (?) says his machine was made for long-distance trades, but does not mention time traveling of any sort like the Time Machine in GSC. Gen V is the "newest" region and, if we're going to get another pair or games set in Hoenn, I'd bet they'll be sequels, not remakes.

baton pass as tm BELIEVE

FRLG came out just after Emerald, so if the pattern stays the same, Hoenn remakes will come out just after the 3rd game (grey)
