Can DS games (Pokemon HGSS) not go online with the 3DS?

And/or is there a way to check IV's through local, because I can get them to connect that way.

Edit: I figured it out. You have to set up both 3DS internet connection and a separate DS connection.
 
It would be nice is someone gave me a full team, so I can defeat my friends. I really need a great strategy, I can't create anything PLEASE HELP.

Download Pokemon Online, Create a team using random pokemon until you decide on a set you like and then get that team for your actual game.
 
When exactly are the natures set for the day care center, right after you press a to talk to the day care man, when he says "come over here", or sometime else?

Define legitimate?
I breed all my own pokes and if I need to I'll work out a team on Pokemon
On-line.

That aside I do understand how much harder it can be.
Also he didn't specify which generation he wants. Although assuming that he posted here it's a gen five team which if it's all generation five pokemon it's a lot easier to obtain then if his team had generation four also.

I do need to fix that. It's only for some dreamworld abilities. Thank-you for reminding me.
But yes there should be no arguing over such a trivial point.

I was just trying to point him in a somewhat easy direction in which to work out a team.

I do agree however that EV-training is much more tolerable this Gen, I tried EV'ing a Zapdos last Gen and it bored me way too much.

Also, a question for any and all to answer: I SR'ed a Landorus, and it's Adamant with 24/27/26/16/26/20 IV's. Should I EV this one, or trade for a better one? It'll have 379 Attack and 290 Speed, not sure what that outruns.. Also, for fast Pokes on a sand team, I'll have Excadrill and Scarfchomp, so the 20 Speed isn't much of an issue.

Well, I'm not sure about the moves either, and for boosting sweepers I tend to prefer Jolly/Timid, so no SD. I want to use it in Flat battles, alongside Thundurus/Tornadus
 
What location is given to a Pokémon if you get them from a wireless, infrared, or GTS trade? How does a Pokémon get the location of Link Trade?

Yeah Just keep him and ev him the way you want. I haven't actually tried those three yet are they worth using? I've read up on them and their potential move sets just haven't had the time to SR for a decent one.

Anybody? For anybody who cares, Milotic doesn't need any extra special attack evs. Four speed evs would bring it to 198 and it sits at an awkward speed tier that it only shares with Gyarados anyway!

GTS traded Pokemon have normal in-game locations, wherever it was caught/hatched. It has the location "Link Trade" if it was traded as an egg.
 
Should I go with a Modest or Timid Joltik? I've been trying to hatch a Timid one for days already, and so far Modest appears to be the only nature I can settle with. Should I? Or should I keep hatching for Timid? I can't use the everstone though since I'm breeding for one with 31 in both Sp. Attack and Speed. Is there another way around this?
Edit: Nvm, I'm going for Timid. If I give up I'll just find another Pokemon I can breed with ease.
 
I'd go timid, unless you plan on using a scarf. There isn't a way around it, but you could use an everstone and hope that the 31 Sp. Attack gets passed down, seeing as you have a 1/6 chance for one of those stats to be passed down, but getting a specific nature is like 1/12 or something like that.

Well, I suppose I'd be using the Everstone method later, thanks for that. Breeding for IV's, nature and specific abilities isn't as easy as I thought though.

When attempting to hatch lots of eggs, make sure that you keep 5 eggs in your party at all times, and make sure the only Pokémon has Flame Body or Magma Armor

Unless the Volcorona you catch is AMAZING, just teach it fly. A flying flame-body poke is great, because you don't need to stop by your PC to check IVs/Hidden Power or anything like that.

I'm already doing what both you and Zachaeus are suggesting xD. 5 empty slots and the Volcarona with Fly so I can immediately check the IV's (since I have no AR) with the guy in the Gear Station. xD And yeah, mediocre flying volcarona with flame body is great.
 
Charge

in pokemon white, there is a man in Opelucid city that requests a pokemon that knows charge from black version. when you bring him that pokemon, does anyone have any idea what happens?
