I consider RNGing clean.
I consider RNGing clean.
Update:
Just lost to N at the castle, and Zekrom has a Jolly nature, with the stats 173/169/136/121/112/121 in order. It's charictaristic is "Likes to run". If I entered these, I received the IV values: 26/28/22/20/14/30. Anyone who wants to double-check please do, but thoughts on this one?
EDIT: This is a SR, by the way. I'm mostly worried about that 1 missing Speed IV. What's going to outspeed me without it, anything crucial?
I can totally respect that. I didn't mean to sound all high and mighty. I was just stating how I enjoy playing, that's all. I didn't mean to imply anything.Plus I'm not talking about cheats persay like giving your Pokemon impossible stats or gives you a unobtainable event Pokemon. Those are just plain uncool.
I don't. Pokemon wasn't designed with max IVs and perfect hidden powers in mind. I'd feel like I was cheating somehow if I blazed through everyone and everything with my flawless HP ice thundurus or something. It would be like I didn't deserve any victories I got. Having a strong conscience is a blessing and a curse, lol.I consider RNGing clean.

Suppose it had a 31 Speed IV, with those other stats, would it be worth using? I don't play super competitively, just local tournaments and some Wi-Fi. If I were to get really serious about battling, I would have to learn RNG.Every other Uber with 90 speed that runs max speed.
I suggest resetting for another; the speed iv is the most important IV in battling.

Any one see the Serebii news? Where he said the Dreamworld might come out next week. Theres a screenshot of the website saying so. But the website removed the announcement fairly quickly...so we can't be sure. Hopefully it is next. That'd be cool. Then I can get me some berries.

So, essentially, I want a flawless Pokemon. I do not know how to RNG, this is merely a SR, and I'm not lookng for flawless. I realize that this puts me at a disadvantage, but I plan to learn RNG at a later date and can solve that issue then.http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83057
Simple answer though, they both are reliant on different forms of RNG; you have the basic one with seeds that controls the IVs, and you have a PIDRNG as well that controls what nature/ability/egg inheritance.
Conceptually, a 31 Spe IV is the most important as it will determine outcomes in speed battles and at worst allow you to tie with other Pokemon of the same speed tier. From there it depends; for a sweeper, a 31 IV in its attack stat is preferred, particularly if a calc would determine a KO or not. For tanks/sponges, HP is a must (and in general valuable if you're aiming for 404 subs and only have 100 base HP), as well as generally high defensive stats in whatever to better aid it in its role, whereas the attacking and speed stats lose relative value.
Not completely necessarily...sweepers can usually get by without flawless IVs, though you might run into survivability issues even more so than if you had them. Ditto with your main tanks and sponges, as long as they have high or perfect IVs in HP, Def, and SpD (or at least whichever stat fits their role), they can operate without good attacking stats or spe.So, essentially, I want a flawless Pokemon. I do not know how to RNG, this is merely a SR, and I'm not lookng for flawless. I realize that this puts me at a disadvantage, but I plan to learn RNG at a later date and can solve that issue then.
Holy Muk I saw the screenshot and did one of those cheesy old dances as a sort of victory dance. I think I just ran around my room. I'm not quite sure why I'm so pumped up about it though. xD

If you didn't grab it yet, there are some Leftovers at the Village Bridge.Allright, ill try it!
One more thing, does anyone know if Covet works where thief doesn't? (I read that thief can't steal from other ingame trainers...) Im interested in accuiring leftovers :D
I kind of see your argument, but I would counter by pointing out that without RNG manipulation, a player can gain an advantage either by dumb luck, or by having time to kill and patience with conventional breeding or SRing. RNG manipulation is itself something that requires more skill, and less luck and patience, than other methods of obtaining good IVed Pokemon, and among those who can do it, it levels the playing field.I don't. I checked out the link above to the 5th Gen RNG thread, but I ran into major confusion because I do not know how to RNG in 4th Gen, or any Gen for that matter, so the terms 'frame' 'seed' and 'PIDRNG' among others are throwing me off. Is there anywhere I could get the step-by-step explanation for a beginning RNG user? It's dead easy in B/W once you learn how the program works (RNG Reporter/PPRNG). I learnt how to RNG in B/W in just an hour or two yesterday. Granted, I could RNG in 4th gen, so I already knew the basic concepts (such as what the 'frame' is), but they're not too hard to grasp.

I found this video very useful, but where can I download the same version of RNG Reporter he has? Mine looks much different and, for simplicity's sake, I would like it to match.Halle, just use this video. I started about two days ago and managed to already do all of this and more.
