5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Can someone please elaborate on "adjacent seeds" and what exactly are the means to go about getting them?

In the time finder, when you have the list of seeds, rightclick the seed you are trying to hit and "Generate adjacent seeds (Current frame)". You will get a list of the 9 adjecent frames, which are within a second from the seed you are trying to hit, have a nearby timer0, or both. Comparing the IV's of the pokemon you caught will help you determine what seed you've hit.

For example:

Seed 1a - Time: 09:59:59 - Timer0: C7E
Seed 2a - Time: 10:00:00 - Timer0: C7E
Seed 3a - Time: 10:00:01 - Timer0: C7E
Seed 1b - Time: 09:59:59 - Timer0: C7F
Seed 2b - Time: 10:00:00 - Timer0: C7F
Seed 3b - Time: 10:00:01 - Timer0: C7F
Seed 1c - Time: 09:59:59 - Timer0: C80
Seed 2c - Time: 10:00:00 - Timer0: C80
Seed 3c - Time: 10:00:01 - Timer0: C80

Imagine you are trying to hit seed 2b (because it has a flawless spread). When you catch a pokemon and it's IV's match seed 1b you know you were a second too early. When you catch a pokemon and it's IV's match seed 2c you know you hit your seed but your timer0 was off, so you just have to try again.

Quick question: Even though I choose Larvesta Egg for the Encounter Type, do I still need to put 8 as the min. frame?

The minimum frame for the Larvesta egg event is 2, not 8. And yes, you still have to put 2 in as the minimum frame.

Would it be possible to add some of these features in a newer version?:
Saving of the number of keypresses in the Parameters to the Registry.
Searching a range of months.
Searching for Shiny Eggs in the Time finder.

Shiny egg search is already (mostly) done. It will be in 9.8 along with a handful of other neat features.

Well, I've been lurking a lot and trying to figure out C-Gear RNG (since I'm using a DSi) but I keep getting one problem.

First, I'm trying to catch a Litwick to verify my seed. However, the MetalKid IV Calculator can't seem to get its IVs (I have an AR, but I don't have the IV Check Code, BTW). Do I move to a location with higher-levelled Pokemon (ex. Victory Road) or is it just me?

If you can't get the IV range, you are doing something wrong. Use rare candies to help Metalkid's calculator find it.

edit: level it up more

I'm sure this has been asked a lot of times, but am I correct in understanding that Larvesta is a gift Pokemon? I just wanted to be sure so I don't have to pack a synchronizer with me.

@Kapothics: Yeah, I am using Rare Candies up to Level 30-35. Should I use more Rare Candies to get to a certain level where I can get my IV range?

Larvesta has its own special method separate from the normal Gift Pokemon, but it still doesn't work with Synchronize.

It is much easier in higher level areas to get more precise IV ranges without training the pokemon.

Do both types of rain affect the PIDRNG? As when I am in the month of November, when I go to the outside of Dragonspiral Tower there is like a light drizzle. But when I go to route 7 it's like a thunder storm.

Okay, so since I can't standard RNG, I tried to C-Gear again tonight. I have successfully done this many times in the past with the version of the RNG reported that didn't support standard RNG.

Anyway, when I go to time finder, put in the spread I want, find my spread, and generate more times, the IVs aren't like what I put in. Instead the IVs the pokemon I get are the first ten in the seed, not the ones I wanted.

For example, I wanted: 31/31/31/x/31/31 Found that spread and generated more time, but the spread was like 6/12/31/x/31/31, the first 10 IVs in the seed.

What am I doing wrong, or what has changed in the newer versions? I'm doing nothing differently than I did back when they were the spreads I wanted.

My physical spread I used with the old reporter isn't even showing up anymore, lol.

You haven't posted all your necessary information like the rules say.

The first 2 IVs of a C-Gear seed are skipped. It displays whatever frames you specify, so as opposed to starting on 3 you made it start on 1 (which included those unhittable IVs).

It's just how IVs work.

I posted all that was needed to know really.

How is it starting on frame one? I was under the impression that turning on the C-gear changed the frame to three. :/ Unless I should leave the min. frame on one instead of changing it to three?

Also, that still doesn't explain why my old spread doesn't even show up anymore in the results when I changed nothing about the process.

Edit: Lol, nevermind. I was entering my entire MAC address instead of just the last six digits. :B Didn't fix anything. >:/

Newer versions automatically subtract the first two frames. Just treat C-Gear RNG as if it started on frame 1.

Here's RNG Reporter 9.80.

- Major Feature Added: 5th Gen Shiny Egg search
- Added: Option to toggle PID hex\decimal display in main window
- Improved: 4th Gen Shiny Egg search no longer searches one date at a time
- Fixed: Breeding (BW\International) no longer shows more than one result even if Max Results is 1
- Fixed: Nidoran-F and Nidoran-M no longer mixed up in Breeding (BW\International)
- Fixed: Seed to Time no longer crashes when a 64-bit seed is in main window
- Changed: 5th Gen DS Parameters for Time Finder now in its own tab

Another major feature I had planned for this release was the option to save\load multiple profiles for ID\SID, DS parameters, etc., as well as fixing Researcher (sorry Kaphotics). However, seeing as the first VGC stop is this weekend, it seemed more important to get that shiny egg search out ASAP.

Shiny Egg search requires that you be saved in front of the Day-Care Man. You should not make any IVRNG advancements at all. I was gonna put a note about that in RNG Reporter, but I ran out of room to put it.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of shinies in Seattle this weekend.

How can i determine whether my parents are from a different nation or not? Say i got a Ditto from the GTS, how can i check what country its trainer's from? Do Breeding BW and BW International give different results?

That will be an epic feature. I'll love it, seeing as I abuse on my wife's game, my retail card and my Cyclo DS. Anyway, testing Shiny Egg Search right now.

Hey, is there anything specific I need to do for the dust clouds.
I've got standard seed, dust cloud, frame 1.
When I start my game I don't seem to run into any clouds!
