**Changes/Decisions in Red**
Yes, you read correct, dual-weather. Now gen 5 has brought weather to the forefront of OU battling, so my friends i ask you, how to outdo a weather team? My suggestion is to combine them. Yes, by combining multi-faceted pokemon I have the option of both sandstorm and rain. Now let me make it clear, this isnt a conventional weather set-up, no sand rush excadrill, no swimswimmers, this team has two weather patterns mainly to counter any opponent's weather team and aiding my team in more minor and discrete manners (EX: 100% accuracy in rain for Magnezone's Thunder). This is something i havent seen done before, but it has been working for me so i thought id let the community take a look at what i think is a pretty interesting concept. So lets get started.....
Politoed (RainMan) @ Leftovers
Calm
Drizzle
252 HP / 252 Sp.Def / 4 Def
Scald
Focus Blast
Ice Beam
Encore
A no brainer here with his ability. Now the EV's are defensive, specifically special defensive to capitalize on Politoed's highest def stat. The attacks are mainly to disrupt another weather inducer (Focus Blast really hurts Tyranitar). Now im unsure about whether to use scald or surf, obviously surf's extra power is nice, but so is brun chance. If i went with surf i think toxic is better choice than ice beam which is really only there for pesky dragons or a grass type that tries to capitalize on Politoed's typing.
Hippowdon (Shanequa) @ ????
Impish
Sand Stream
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp.Def
Earthquake
Slack Off
Stockpile
Stone Edge
Again, another obvious choice. I far prefer him over Tyranitar for his ability to last longer. I faced a set involving stockpile and a recovery move agaisnt a Dewgong in battle subway and fell in love with the combo. After even 1 stockpile Hippowdon becomes insanely difficult to take down, especially with instant recovery in slack off. The only debate is whether or not to use t-fang or s-edge to counter flying types immune to EQ. I like t-fang better because it tears through Gyrados and is super effective against Skarmory.

Scizor (Scissor Me) @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Adament
Technician
252 attack / 252 speed / 4 hp
Superpower
U-turn
Bullet Punch
Pursuit
Scizor benefits from both weather's I run, having his fire weakness lessened by rain and takes no damage from sand. This guy is a boss, single handedly brought me to 53 on battle tower in gen 4 as i worked to get BP for Superpower. I need help determining the item and moves though. U-turn seems better, because i often switch out due to choice band or superpower's stat decreases, however, X-scissor has saved me when my other moves arent effective. Night slash has a higher base power and high chance for crits, and pursuit really doesnt help because i dont need to force a switch since i dont need a turn for setting up.
Magnezone (UFOwned) @ Air Balloon
Sturdy
Modest
252 Sp.Attack / 252 speed / 4 hp
Thunder
Magnet Rise
Flash Cannon
Thunder Wave
Again, Magnezone benefits from rain's weakening of fire and an immunity from sand. Also, thunder is deadly with 100% accuracy, dealing serious damage to anything not resistant to it. Magnezone has a plethora of immunities, combined with sturdy which i strongly prefer over magnet pull (i mean com'on, practically every steel type carries earthequake, why would i want that stuck fighting my 'zone??) and that allows him to be a powerful sweeper, but his movepool is shallow and his HP type is bug so i need some help with moves, maybe thunder wave? Or possibly a sub / charge beam setup.
Vaporeon (ILikeItWet) @ leftovers??
Bold
Hydration
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Surf
Toxic
Rest
Rain Dance
The combination of rain and hydration make Vaporeon a force to be reckoned with. Hydration wakes up Vaporeon at the end of the turn i use rest on, providing a serious form of recovery. The first two moves have the same issue as with Politoed, not sure if i prefer the power of surf over the burn of scald. Even though this bulky water can do fine in the sand, resting off residual damage while weaker pokemon crumble, i am considering giving it Rain Dance to support itself incase Politoed has died and Rain has been replaced.
Reuniclus@ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
Nature: Quiet(+Spa,-Spe)
Calm Mind
Recover
Psychic/Psychoshock
Focus Blast
Ok he is here replacing my original Zoroark (whor eally shouldn’t have been there), he counters fighting types that I otherwise might have trouble with. However, I am still uncertain about this slot and am open to suggestions.
Ok just came up with a new thought, what about instead of reuniclus, i could use magic bounce espeon as a fighting counter and with its ability i can lead with espeon and reflect any of my opponent's spikes/toxic spikes/ rocks back at him, works as both a rapid spinner and a trap layer. Just a thought....
So there you have it, a dual-weather team. I havent seen it done before, and maybe its a bad idea, but it has been working for me and i want to see what you all think of the idea, and i really need help with the final slot, it can really be anything, i mean i have bulk and power so maybe a Forretress to set up some hazards? Anything might work, let me know... thanks guys!!!!!!
