driiiiiiiiiiink

standard beer:
Jupiler (belgian), Grolsch, Brand (dutch), though I will drink any beer really. Except Bavaria maybe...

special beer:
Palm, Leffe, Westmalle, Brugse Zot, Hoegaarden and most others (Belgian), I like most British beers too, though not in enormous quantities. One pint of Guinness is more than enough...
Also Kriek (Belgian), which is a kind of authentic beer with sour cherries.

Wine: any, really. I'm not a wine snob

spirits: whiskey (wow the other day I had one named Laphraoigh or something else with a Celtic name, so goooood), brazilian cachaça (made from sugar cane, really awesome), grappa, most of the sweet stuff etc.

I think I need to conclude that I'm just not a very difficult person when it comes to drinks. I would drink most mixed drinks too, just that I hardly ever do it.

beer: I've taken a liking to Boddington recently. That, plus Stella, Dos Equis, Corona and Killians round out my top 5. Weird mix, I know.

wine: I don't drink wine too often, but I enjoy most of the red wines that I've had. My uncles actually make their own and it's not half bad.

spirits: Tequila, Whiskey, Vodka, Gin, Rum. You name it, I'll most likely drink it. Favorite shot of the moment is Goldschlager and Jaeger. It tastes like Big Red cinnamon gum, swear to god. Favorite mixed drink of the moment is probably Bacardi Torched Cherry and coke; it's a damn tasty cherry coke.

Something of a massive ale buff - I try to get to as many local (and some not so-local ale festivals as possible). I find the best ones are those from Lakeland...the Jennings and Hawkshead brewerys being my two favorite. In a pub, Guinness is usually my 'default drink' though. I'm yet to find a pub that doesn't sell Guinness but good ales can sometimes be in short supply.

Also a big whisky fan which leads me to...

spirits: whiskey (wow the other day I had one named Laphraoigh or something else with a Celtic name, so goooood)

Laphroaig is is a scottish whisky and yes, it is the one of the best you'll find. other ones i'd recommend are Talisker, Auchentoshan, Glenmorangie, and most of all - Bowmore. You'll not go for wrong with anything from the Highlands. Just avoid the mainstream shit that you get in supermarkets. If there's any Brits here interested in whisky (I'm gonna go ahead and assume you all are, being British and whatnot) then Fenwicks is a fantastic (and convenient) place to buy good stuff so I'd suggest you look there. There's also a a whisky lounge festival currently touring the UK (I was at the Newcastle one just last week) and it was fantastic so keep an eye out for that.

tl;dr Ale + Whisky <3

Liquor - Screwdriver or White Russian for mixed drinks, Glen Morangie or Old Fettercairn Scotch straight up

Beer - Dos Equis, Killian's Irish Red, Yuengling, or Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. Hell I like most dark beer...

Wine - I prefer a strong white zinfandel, or a medium bodied Riesling. Chardonnay is good too.

buffalo trace, whyte&mackay, g&ts, dark rum, brandy cokes, vodka anything, stella, 1664

and everyone here drinks tennents

first thing that came to mind when i saw the title

White russians are delicious but my stomach can't take milk and alcohol.

I generally just stick to white wine for getting drunk because it's tasty.

Beer- disgusting! I won't drink beer unless I'm drunk enough already that my taste buds have ceased to exist.

Wine- I'm not a huge wine fan but won't necessarily sign off of it. My friends are always pushing different types on me, but I've yet to find any that I enjoy.

Alcohol- I tend to like having a mixed drink to chase down the shots, I usually go for super girly drinks, rum and coke, or something within that realm. I genuinely don't like the taste of alcohol, so we always start off the night with a couple of shots to get the mood started and the taste buds numb, and then nurse a mixed drink or two (or a few if playing drinking games) and spend the rest of the night between shots. Alcohol of choice (that you'll always find laying around my place): Gin, Vodka, Tequilla. I also keep Triple Sec handy for when we want long island iced teas...

Also, I just have to note: fuck Bombay Sapphire. That shit, ugh! I had the WORST blackout of my life on that shit (within the last 4 months); I haven't had any since. It knocks me on my ass. Thinking back, I think a couple of my blackouts can be directly contributed to it, haha. But, to be fair, it used to be one of my *pray to a god I don't believe exists; suck it up and shut up* shots for an insta-drunk. And if I have someone feeding me shots (my sister) after that first one, just consider me out for the count.

Waterbomb, it's called whisky not scotch! You of all people should know that!

Sorry laddie, I left the motherland when I was 8 so the stupid Americans have corrupted me.

I still know what the good single malts are though, and I steer clear of the mainstream crap. Still have a 1980 bottle of Old Fettercairn barrel whisky (106 proof rather than the store-grade 80 proof) that I'm told is worth well in excess of 3,000 pounds. I'm scared to drink it, I'm afraid like a ghost is gonna come out or something...

I'm mostly a beer drinker. I like ales and lagers a lot, and I enjoy an IPA every once in a while. Guinness is mother's milk to me when I can find a place that has it on tap.

As far as spirits go, I can't stand gin or anything licorice-flavored (Jager, Buca, etc). Anything else is pretty much fair game. If I order liquor in a bar it's usually either a rum and coke, a seven-and-seven, or straight whiskey/bourbon.

I don't really drink a lot, and when I do I don't drink to get drunk, I prefer to enjoy beers. I'm a huge fan of Yeungling or however the fuck you spell it, I'm too lazy to look it up and its too complicated for me to remember. Budweiser is pretty good and pretty cheap too. I cannot stand light beers for the most part. I prefer darker beers to paler ones but fuck Guinness that shit tastes like shit. More of an amber kind of guy.

Huge huge fan of mixed drinks, and the girlier ones usually taste better, which is unfortunate because I can't drink them in a public setting. I really dig White Russians and Black Russians, probably cause Kahlua is one of my favorites, mudslides are good too (mostly because they are basically a slushy white Russian that tastes a little different). Smirnoff Ice is delicious but, once again, I won't drink it in public. I don't give a fuck what anyone says, they are amazingly sweet and delicious, its like liquid candy.

Not much for wine, although I usually try some whenever my parents drink it to get a taste for what I do and do not like, and they got this one red wine that was pretty "sweet" for red wine, that shit was good.

I think Guiness has too little flavor to compliment its very heavy body. Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout is the best and most perfect stout I have ever had, and it was from a bottle even. If I could ever find that stuff fresh on tap I would die a happy man.

I'm not a huge IPA fan, but Dark Horse makes a great double IPA called double crooked tree. I had a great balanced and "lighter" IPA the other day called Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. A good balance of sweetness, bitterness, and carbonation. Nothing like, say, Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale which is just an overwhelming bucket of pine and hop bitterness.

For people in the states that like Belgian styles but can't find them, New Belgium (the brewery that makes fat tire) makes a great beer called Abbey belgian style ale.

I always try to get people to try Two Brother's Ebel Weiss. It's a hefeweizen that's fairly light and has a nice banana, clove, and vanilla flavor to it. I think it's a good beer for people who "don't really like beer" to try.

When I'm out, normally Guinness or Carling, depending on my mood. If beer is being brought in, Hoegaarden is the only way to go.

Spirits wise, not fussed in fairness. I did have a local Welsh whisky (Penderyn) which was quite nice, but I haven't had a chance to try much else.

definitely a wine fan - am in love with oliver soft red wine, shit tastes like juice. SANGRIA is lovely, haters can scram!!

not a huge beer fan, but stella artois is good, and that's pretty much the only non-light beer i've had thus far that i enjoy. not a vodka fan at all, aside from smirnoff ice (hehehe) which barely counts. the sugary aspect never leaves me with a headache, so it's my best friend.

i had this stuff called Jeremiah Lemonade or something last night, which pretty much tastes like lemonade save for the slight burn down your throat. it's like 5.8% though, and delicious.

first tequila I ever had was PATRON, and as surprisingly smooth as it went down after the first 3 shots, the 4th did me in as soon as I had finished swallowing. bad times. but, it's all right. i'm a pretty big lightweight (oxymoron?) and can't really have too much hard stuff, like gin/rum/etc (most of which I haven't dared try yet) but i'll try anything once. alcohol mixes that don't taste like shit are what i'm ever-searching for.

I dunno if they have them in america, but Desperados are amazing, it's pretty much the only beer i'll happily drink. Sweet drinks are cool too, like Mojito's and anything SoCo

I occasionally have some beer when I'm with my cousins in New York, but I usually drink Soda.

why does america have all these dumb names for specific highballs like cuba libre and screwdriver

guinness is great haters gtfo. its not the type of thing i drink all the time, but when im in the mood its excellent.
