Looks like Burrows took a BITE out of Boston's chances of winning the Cup!

(see it's funny because he shouldn't have played that game)

Yeah my boy Charazard messed it up there at the end, but I guess the Bruins can't be too upset. They know they can play with the best team in the league right now, they just have to finish the game. Vancouver held home ice, big deal. Now the B's have to go out and do the same thing. Burrows should have been suspended for at least a game (I mean seriously, who fucking bites someone?) but that isn't an excuse for why the Bruins lost. I don't care what you have to do, even if you take a penalty, Chara can not let Burrows get that wraparound shot. I'd rather have Chara in the box that a wide open net because Thomas made a mistake. The Bruins need to play like they did in the 2nd period for the whole games at home or else the Canucks are going to steal the cup.

It looks to me that Chara was the one who bumped Thomas out of position. I think if Chara wasn't there, Thomas might have gotten back on time although Burrows did say that he wanted to reach around Thomas after luring him out, so there's that.

Just for the record, only 4 teams have come back from a 0-2 deficit in the history of the SCF. It's a rough road for the Bruins ahead.

And here I thought only canadians get butthurt over hockey.

In all seriousness burrows is a cool guy but seriously, biting a dude doesn't seem all that professional, awesome game though.

But still go Canucks!

Winnipeg season tickets sold out within 10 minutes of being open to the public.

Radio said 17 Minutes. I got P6 (second "worst" seats available) and I had 3 computers going at exactly the release time. They also had to cap the waiting list already at 8000.

I don't especially care what the team is called, but everyone just really wants to yell "GO JETS GO".

As far as I know, the most "legitimate" rumor that I've heard regarding the name is the "Polar Bears" with Black, Silver, and White jerseys. Meh.

Now we just need to sign Brad Richards....

In the mean time, go nucks.

I kind of dislike 'Jets' because its used in another pro league but Polar Bears is a terrible alternative.

I guess but I still think it's worth it for the nostalgia of having the "jets back". I've also heard Manitoba Falcons and the possibility of just using Manitoba Moose.

Yeah I read 17 minutes on CBC.

I didn't have high expectations for the season tickets, they easily surpassed what I thought they could get in the amount of time they had.

My friends got my expectations up so now I'll actually be upset if we don't get Richards lol. I guess I'll settle for Ladd resigning.

Still rooting for the Manitoba Roughriders!

only a Canucks fan would dig up an 8 year old story on a guy who probably won't even play hockey ever again due to multiple serious injuries, just to try and defend a player on his team

I don't get how having a concussion relates to biting.

HERP DERP BEING INJURED ABSOLVES ME FROM ALL BLAME.

Edit: Hoping it won't be the Manitoba Moose, hoping for the Jets.

Atlanta was a good young team. I'm very jealous that you guys have Evander Kane. He's going to be huge.

"One of our players bit one of your players? Well, one of your players did the same thing 8 years ago when he wasn't even on your team, even though that player isn't currently playing for your team, and likely won't ever play for them or any other team again. SO THERE" -A Canucks Fan

Actually it goes:

"BURROWS IS A DISGRACE TO THE SPORT/A BABY EATER/TERRORIST/ABORTIONIST etc etc"
"Actually Savard did the exact same thing previously"
"OH MY GOD WHY YOU BRING UP INJURED PLAYER WHO WONT PLAY AGAIN. CLASSLESS. "

Point is, no one is disagreeing that Burrows shouldn't have been suspended, except for people who're kidding themselves. But it irks me when people call out the Canucks for being classless, when one of their own prominent players did the same thing few years back. And his injury, however severe, or sad it may be at the moment, has no bearing on this argument.

There's also "This is bullshit! He shouldn't have been allowed to play and he scores the game-winning goal?" without thinking about a certain player who threw squirted water, then threw the bottle at a fan, didn't get suspended, and went on to score the winning goal the next game - game 7 - to get into the stanley cup finals.

Unofficially they actually sold out in 2 minutes but it took 15 mins for all the transactions to be completed.

He was on the Trashers when that happened, and it was way before he became a Bruin. And no matter what team someone plays for, biting is inexcusable. I don't get what you were trying to say with that post.

And of course just as I start to read this thread, another dirty play by the Canucks. Let's see if the NHL ignores this one too. A late blindside hit directly to the head. Horton is lucky he's even alive after that. I know hockey is supposed to be a physical sport but the NHL seriously needs to address this ugly-on-one-side-only series. A 5-minute penalty is not enough of a detriment to stop this kind of pathetic hit from the Canucks, who openly mocked the biting incident and now open game 3 with play like this. The NHL needs to assert some authority and convince the fans that they have control of their brutes.

Even though some bozos might not think that was a blindsided hit and that Horton wasn't looking where he was skating, that is still a 100% dirty hit. There is no excuse for this in the NHL at all. Why would you lift your shoulder up for a high hit? Ever? It's complete BS. Rome should be suspended for the rest of the Stanley Cup if the NHL wants to prevent skilled players from having their careers ended from stuff like this.

Yeah uh, not to keep feeding fire to the disaster that is this thread, but I don't know that the NHL will ever have had a more embarrassing champion than the Canucks if they pull this off. This is worse than the Ducks team that won the cup. Wonderful to see this in the finals, too, I'm sure this is picking up GOBS of casual fans.

Not surprisingly, I'm already seeing Habs fans cheering this hit saying that the Bruins had it coming for Pacioretty

fucking disgusting

I know youtube comments aren't exactly a gold mine but people are also bringing up the Marty McSorley slash from a decade ago, talking about "karma" as if that somehow excuses this BS hit. I was starting to get back into the NHL over the last 3 or 4 seasons but if this is allowed to continue then I think they've just lost another casual fan. Cheap shots like that are the reason why I could never get into the NHL, all I saw was things like Todd Bertuzzi committing felony assault and breaking someone's neck from behind and getting off basically scot-free. This is making it difficult to keep watching.

Protip: You're reading Youtube comments. I doubt most rational fans would ever think that. That's the first time I heard that.

Suspend Rome. Dirty hit. According to McKenzie, they counted frames, and he was 1 second late on the hit, and the NHL limit is .5 seconds.

Horton needs to keep his head up though. Not defending Rome, but just saying.

And Synre, the dirtiest champions? Jesus, someone has a short memory with the 07 Ducks.
