The Everything NHL Thread

I really hope it's the jets, I feel that anything but that will be bad. and many fans as you said would still chance would say go JETS go. I really like the move and I am excited to see it.

When it comes to changing policies regarding dangerous hits and suspensions, I feel Shanahan won't be much of an improvement.

Any improvement will be immediately noticeable. And I would like to think that a player who recently finished playing, and has also been part of groups that have looked at increasing player safety, will do the right thing more often.

He was also one of those players that didnt mind pushing the rules to their limits, one that has a few dirty hits to his resume himself. There are a ton of ex players I feel would be way more credible for the job.

But he did once say that all new NHLers should wear a visor and thats the kind of thing I want someone in this position to push for. I hope him the best, I just wish it was someone like Yzerman or Sakic in his shoes right now.

Downtown Vancouver exploded on that Torres goal. Felt fucking awesome, especially with everyone celebrating.

Luongo and Thomas both had good games. Thomas moreso.

Tim thomas played a hell of a game but that (lack of) power play is going to fuck us over. Pretty sure there were at least 2 5v3 and we couldnt score x_x

Really intense game to watch with some amazing goaltending. I can't stand Raffi Torres but I could certainly feel the emotion of the goal. Looks like the Canucks have a penchant for scoring in the last few seconds of regulation.

Sounds like the old Sabres. :cloud:

Fantastic game, I love 1-0 nailbiters with both goalies standing on their heads. I don't think NBC could have asked for a better game to showcase the Finals.

I'd actually commented on the other end of things when I was chatting last night -- I bet NBC hates that game. It's great hockey for hardcore fans, but that's not who they're trying to appeal to by putting it on NBC. Lack of scoring means they probably won't use the NBC options later in the series.

Oh, I thought they had a deal to trade his rights or something. This is what I already assumed was going to happen.

In other news, Toronto fans suddenly have something to hope about.

I thought the Dallas organization would be stable enough to sign Richards, especially with the Canadian businessman buying the organization. Guess not.

Malholtra will most likely be dressed for Game 2. Great to have him back, especially with the Bruin's offensive depth. Solidifies our 4th line. Hamhuis is still day to day though, with Rome practicing with Bieksa.

Speaking as a Bruins fan from birth albeit not a very hardcore one, go Boston, and I do think we have a pretty good chance of winning this series, we're certainly keeping it close anyway. Burrows should've been suspended, speaking as a butthurt Boston fan here... he may cost us Game 2, and I really don't like where this is going...

Chara was terrible. Gave up the turnover leading to the tying goal, and just stood there. Tripped up Thomas and couldn't beat Burrows in OT. He was invisible during the power play (which Boston finally scored, good job to Lucic for screening + getting that second chance).

Loving Lapierre and his "bite me" gesture to Bergeron. Greatest troll to play this year.
