A team built around Snorlax

gliscor.png

Gliscor @ Lefotovers
Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252hp/4def/252spd
-Stealth Rock
-Roost
-Earthquake
-U-Turn
Before you yell at me for not using Poison Heal, let me say that this guy does exactly what I want. That is to say, that he is great at setting up rocks and killing Excadrill. He has enough bulk to take a +2 Rock Slide from exca, and laughs at everything else. He's also faster than a lot of leads, and can U-turn out if he's in trouble.

images

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 64hp/64atk/252def/128 Sdef
-Curse
-Return
-Earthquake
-Fire Punch
The reason this team was built, I wanted to build a team around Snorlax. Curselax is a beast, plain and simple. He comes in on a special sweeper, Cureses, and walaah... you have a mixed tank who's more than capable of killing a couple Pokemon.

salamence.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Naive
EVs: 252atk/4Satk/252spd
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake
Ah, DDMence, a favorite of mine, and a beast. You may ask, "Why Salamence and not Dragonite", but I love this guy's sheer power. He also catches stuff like Ferrothorn by surprise.

images

Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252spd
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-X-Scissor
-Rock Slide
I decided I was having issues with Latios, so I gave this guy a scarf, and he is insane. He'll outrun just about everything and beat them down with his powerful attacks... truly legendary.

images

Gengar @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4hp/252Satk/252spd
-Substitute
-Shadow Ball
-Destiny Bond
-Focus Blast
This guy was reccomended to me because I needed a spin blocker. That however, is not his only purpose. Gengar is a threatinig sweeper due to unresisted coverage between Shadow Ball and Focus Blast. His other ninch is Destiny Bond, a brilliant move that allows him to take out stuff like Cursepurt and Bulk Up Conckeldurr that would otherwise threaten this team.

magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4hp/252Satk/252spd
-Substitute
-Thunderbolt
-Flash Cannon
-Hidden Power [Fire]
I put in Magnezone because I thought I needed someone to trap steels. That's less needed now, but trapping steels is cool, and Magnezone is a good Pokemon.. so why not?

*Thanks to Aaragornbird for quite a few of the pics*

Any help is appreciated.

You need a spin blocker, because if youre going to use entry hazards, you should have one. You can be severely hurt by weather, so I switch Latios with a Bulky Calm Mind Latias.

May I recomend a sub disable gengar over latios? You have enough coverage on the other pokes, and gengar could act as that spin blocker, and that extra special attacker.

Also, that EQ on terakion is a bit redundant w/ close combat. Aerial Ace is a bit weird, but can nail other fighting types who would usually kill him (although hes running scarf, so nailing switchers wont be happening).

on Magnezone, try a balloon. He wont really be doing much more than takin out a scizor or somthin, so that balloon would really expand his horizons.

You might also want to run thick fat on Curse lax too. Immunity wont be doin too much, youll be pickin up tons of chip damage anyway. Change his evs to make it have max spdef aswell. Youll be getti hit harder on that side, and one boost of curse will give him plenty of def w/ minimal investment.

ive been using that same salamence set and fire blast doesnt always ohko ferrothorn, might wanna run 20 or 30 spattck evs just to make sure you ko
gl :)

Don't use aerial ace over earthquake. With Aerial Ace what are you hitting...Heracross? and any other fighting type switching in would not like taking a Close Combat right to the face. The only three options viable there are EQ, Quick Attack, and HP Ice which I think might be able to 2HKO after rocks with no investment and a neutral nature...not sure.

Also you should probably try to expand your descriptions some more or else this might get locked. And I love Snorlax so I don't want to see that happen :D

After 1 layer of spikes it gets the Ko, and after 1 layer and SR it kills 252/252+ ferros, which are rare, but pop up every now and then.

Anyway, nice team, but don't use forry as a lead, hes shut down by taunt so easily and is just setup bait in that spot.

Dunno about you but I feel like destiny bond should be considered for gengar. Just my opinion only cuz it's a fun last resort against dangerous set up types.

Exactly and by sacrificing gengar with DB you could actually save yourself from losing. Never hurts taking out the big boss

How do you handle Excadrill?Everything in your team gets ohkoed from a +2 Exca!Even Magnezone with balloon intact cannot ohko with HP fire...

Gliscor can tank Exca like a pro.

However, how do you plan to handle Thundurus? Stone Edge has super shaky accuracy, and if it gets taken out, It can sweep your team fairly reliably after a nasty plot.

HP Ice will OHKO your gliscor
Focus Blast OHKOs Snorlax
HP Ice OHKOs Mence
TBolt OHKOs Terrakion
TBolt OHKOs Gengar
Focus Blast OHKOs Magnezone

Also, Gengar doesn't have to sacrifice itself to kill Conkeldurr. Replacing DBond with Disable prevents Conkeldurr from harming you while you safely shadow ball from behind a sub.

Made some changes

-Gave Terrakion Rock Slide to deal with Thundurus
-Switched Forretress with Gliscor (prior to last post)
-Gave Gengar Destiny Bond
