If you use a move to lower your speed ie: hammer arm/ curse in a trick room, does your speed acctually increase if you see what i mean?

Hmm , havent had that situation before.
I did have a double match in witch snorlax had some curses , then used trickroom and turned out to be the first to hit always.
Didnt try cursing then anymore but i think ur speed will still drop , wich in trick room means you'll be faster.

It's as Soulfly says. Lowering your speed will make you go faster in trick room, regardless of when you tack on your speed drops. It still technically makes you slower statwise, so the moment trick room drops your speed drops effectively hinder your ability to outspeed the opponent.

Quick question or two:

Is a 252.Att, Adamant Choice Banded Sheer Force Sun boosted STAB Darmanitan's Flare Blitz more powerful than 252 Sp.Att, Modest Choice Specs rain boosted STAB Kyogre's Water Spout at full HP?

If so...does that make Darmanitan's Flare Blitz the most pwerful attack in the game when unboosted by Swords Dance etc.?

I was reading old R/S/E analyses, and Gengar's SubPunch made me ask myself: Could SubPunch work in this metagame, like it did back then? I could see it being useful for Ferro, Tyranitar and Exca when you're behind a Sub, and to a lesser extent, Blissey/Chansey. I'm not too sure on which two other moves you can run (I assume Shadow Ball and Disable/Pain Split/Destiny Bond would be best), or the EV spread for such a set. Would going completely Physical with Ice Punch work, or is that a bit too gimmicky?

If I've done my math right, no. Water Spout is slightly stronger.

If i'm not wrong gengar gets like 250 attack on adamant nature with max ev's in that. For me that is way too low , defenatly cuz an ice punch has only 75 base power if i'm not mistaken. Gengar doesnt have the defences to survive hits when he doesnt kill fast enough , nor does he have the hp to make a decent sub that lasts a while.
In my opinion this wouldnt work. Also i dont think if some1 used it against me that i would be in 'danger' as it wouldnt be suspected.

@JoyCeyMaster :
With cheer force , flare blitz becomes a 159 BP move (or 160 if they round it up).
Considering both your options have like max boosted dammage , it can be brought back to the highest attack/special attack.
Where a kyogre gets 438 Spec attack on a modest nature, darmanitan gets 416 attack .
Honestly i have no clue on how the damage calculation works , but i would say that flareblitz would hit harder then a water spout on lets say a pokemon that is neutral to both with same special defence as normal defence .
In my opinion , i would say the flare blitz is , as you was saying , the strongest move without swordsdance boosts . But dont forget that you will hit only 3-4 times before recoil will kill you.
(Hope that helped)

What if your oponent says u can use any legends ?

Some people tollerate a garchomp in OU , so therefor this question :)

You're already allowed to use legends in standard OU, as long as it isn't banned or unrealesed.

If you are told you can use anything unrealesed, it becomes a dream world match.
If you are told you can use anything banned, it becomes an ubers match.

Hey guys, i'd like to ask a question about breeding.

So, thing is, I want to have a Nidoking (nidoran*male*) with the DW ability Sheer Force. I also want to have the possibilty to keep breeding until i get the right nature and/or not the wrong ability. Now my question is, do I need a DW Nidoqueen to breed with a random poke to get a MALE Nidoran with the chance to have Sheer Force or a DW Nidoking to breed with a DW Nidoqueen, or Ditto or... ??
Thanks already,
Cap'n

Breed female DW Nidoran with any compatible male poke, and the offspring has a chance (50% I think) of having Sheer Force. Nidorina and Nidoqueen cannot breed for some reason, so it has to be female Nidoran. Breeding with Ditto does not pass down DW abilities.

So I have to breed female DW Nidoran NOT with a ditto and i have a chance to get a MALE nidoran with sheer force? cuz its all about it being male that interests me. just want to make that clear.
thanks man.

Damage comparison using normalized base stats:

Adamant, 252 Atk EVs, Sheer Force, Choice Band, Sun, STAB boosted Flare Blitz from Darmanitan:

(140+50)*1.1*1.3*1.5*1.5*1.5*120=110038 (These numbers are only for comparison)

Modest, 252 SpA EVs, Choice Specs, STAB, Rain boosted Kyogre Water Spout:

(150+50)*1.1*1.5*1.5*1.5*150=111375

Kyogre's Specs Water Spout does about 1.2% more damage.

Solar Power Charizard's Blast Burn might be the most powerful move without any setup (other than weather).

Modest, 252 SpA EVs, Choice Specs, STAB, Sun, Solar Power boosted Blast Burn from Charizard comes out to:

(109+50)*1.1*1.5*1.5*1.5*1.5*150=132814

That's about 19% more damage than Specs Kyogre's Water Spout. :O
There's even a 10% chance of it OHKOing the standard 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Blissey without Stealth Rocks in play. With Stealth Rocks there's a 90% Chance of it OHKOing the standard Blissey!
It's Overheat is also 11% stronger than Kyogre's Water Spout. If only it had a better secondary typing. That 4x weakness to SR makes it unappealing. :(

Thanks :D Just general curiosity really :)

Another thing: A bit of Theorymonning here, would a doubles combo of Shuckle+Blissey work? Thinking on the spot...

Shuckle w. 252 Def/252 Sp.Def
Guard Share
Power Share
filler
filler

Blissey w. 252 HP/252 Sp.Att
Calm Mind
Softboiled
filler
filler

Basically with Shuckle's Guard share, it'd be like Blissey as base stats of 255HP, 120 Def and 182.5 Sp.Def, and with instant recovery would be VERY though to take down, and then CM for boosting the Sp.Att...

Shuckle would Power Share with another opponent to cripple them, and then you could choose your other moves depending what you wanted them to do...
Just a thought, but could it work?

i've tried this as a lure set, with no luck or i'd be using it right now.
with disable and hp fire

oh yes, now i remember why i came here (the thread) in the first place.

i am trying to complete my OU team, i have been changing it daily as i have not been satisfied with it. i recently added forretress and celebi to the team.

but i need a good fire blaster on the team, other than heatran (and mixed salamence). so what would be a very reliable fire blaster that,
can also sweep with special attacks,
or set up dual screens and taunt foes?

is there one? deoxys-s would be great if it had fire blast as it can play both roles above.
