5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Certain ones have less of an effect (I've noticed select is one).

If you've got 3, you're more likely to hit C7F. You've got the gist of it!

I was happy for about 5 minutes when it worked, but now it's not. Should I re-calibrate just to verify what my "no-keypress" timer0 is in general?

Also, what you mean Save again? You mean after a failed result generate a new egg and save?

EDIT: You say that you verified the Timer0 issue on GBA Games. Does that mean for that to hold true there needs to be a GBA game in slot two?

EDIT 2: 1 last thing; could these issues be unfolding due to the fact I use PPRNG? Sorry for asking so many questions, lol.

Why I can't enter my Mac address?

When I hit my seed, I actually am starting to verify what I hit the Parameter searcher, and it doesn't come up with anything, at all. And I will sometimes get two different babies and neither match up.

I click on the game to start it up at 12:59:07. Am I supposed to start at 12:59:08? Or am I just being stupid and missing something all together?

I listen to Chatot once before collecting the egg, I don't know if that matters.

Hello smogon friends =) Id like to address an issue that has been bugging me for some time, which is my theory of "redundant frames". These frames, as can be seen with the person rnging the sigilyph above, cannot be hit under any circumstances. From personal experience while rnging (and I've done a fair bit of looking into this before posting) these frames can be skipped in one of two ways:
A) The frame before the redundant frame will hit twice and then skip the redundant frame.
Or
B) The redundant frame will skip without involving other frames.

For example:
Say our shiny frame is 57, and we have the bad luck of it being redundant. In A, frame 56 will count twice and then go to frame 58, which will therefore not disrupt the 'flow' of the frames. In example B, frame 56 will hit only once and then skip to 58, which would disrupt the flow of frames by a factor of one.

I encounter these 'redundant frames' mostly on shiny frames, but if anyone has encountered an unexplainable skip in an rng for just iv's, this is likely the reason.

This is all the information I have :s I have no tricks for spotting them (or avoiding them) but they're out there and need to be acknowledged.
Thanks for reading.

I've never heard of anyone who couldn't hit a frame in an NPC free area that knew how to RNG. Even with all the NPCs around, all he had to do to get his Sigilyph was resave, like Kaphotics just said.

Hi all,

I have an annoying problem I would like to solve.

I use PPRNG and I'm able to hit my seeds consistently. I wanted to RNG a shiny wild pokemon, so I went to Victory Road. I hit my seed, sweet scent a pokemon, and check the nature and ability against the list of PIDS. The shiny frame is on frame 64. Hit seed again, recheck pid to make sure, and it's a different frame. My question is: how can you advance the frame to the right frame when it randomizes each time I hit the same seed?

Info
Pokemon Black
Standard seed: 51C1F13CDE3D3FA0
Timer0:C7B/C7C
VFrame: 6
VCount: 60
Time: 8/20/2011 @ 16:39:36

Thanks in advance.

Advance by Chatots.
Go use chatter, and and look at the summary of chatot. It advances the frame by 1. do it before you sweet scent.

Or NPC's might be a problem. Idk where you are encountering pokemon.

Alright, I just wanna thank Kaphotics, and strongbad real quick or their input which helped me get my Sigilyph.

Now I'm trying to RNG breed a Rotom. However I am not generating any seeds.

Im using a ditto (female/flawless in this scenario) and my timid rotom with everstone (2 perfect IVs).

-I ticked the genderless/fixed gender box
-I've entered my ID/SID
-Filled Min/Max frame as usual
-Input Date
-Chose breeding type (BW) and filled out my desired spread.
-Which btw is the HP Fire spread 31/30/31/30/31/30

Is it that there just arent any seeds for the current date?

I would also like to RNG a metagross for my friend eventually so i would really appreciate any input on this matter. Thanks in advance.

I double check. It appears to be 51/52. I chatter 13/12 times to hit 64. No shiny. Instead, I get a bold nature which isn't near the shiny frame. There is a bold nature on frame 14.

EDIT: Hit seed twice, now appears to be frame 14? No PID advancement

EDIT 2: I am sweet scenting

  • Please list which version of RNG Reporter or PPRNG you are using.
  • What are you trying to capture\hatch? Please specify whether you are attempting to breed a shiny Pokémon, breed IVs onto a Pokémon, or capture a Pokémon.
  • What is your target seed and frame? What is the delay of that seed? What is the MAC address of the DS you are using?
  • How did you verify your seed?
  • If you tried and failed, what results did you get? You NEED to know this so you can figure out what went wrong. Results are either the IV\nature of the Pokemon you caught, or an ID\SID if you are attempting ID\SID abuse.
1) 9.81 beta (latest version)
2) I'vejust starting out RNG'ing so I'm just trying to get a flawless pokemon, I've been using sweet scent in victory road
3) Target Seed is 10501, Frame is 7, Delay is 59 seconds I think (not sure what you mean by this)
4) 0009bfd8c759
5) Not sure what thit means...
6) When I clicked 'Search IV' and inputted my IVs in, it kept saying there was no results for my IVs. I was using the serebii.net IV calcualtor, if that helps.

Thanks for any help you can give me! :D

hi all, how do you find your starting PID frame when hatching eggs? I'm getting the hang of RNGing wild and stationary pokemon, so I would like to move on to more advanced stuff.

You can use the "calculate initial pid frame" button to get an idea of where your starting frame might be, but that will most likely not be your real starting frame due to NPCs...so just hatch the egg once, search the result and go from there. if you don't see your result you probably didn't hit your seed.
