Sun Team (OU) - Moment For Life -

Edits are in RED

I finally gave into the weather metagame to some success. I feel like a tool though, oh well. Here's my team:

Calm (+Sp. Def/-Attack)
252 HP/252 SP. Def

- Will-o-Wisp
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Calm Mind

I'm a little iffy about this set, Ninetales is usually the fastest weather user so if Politoed sets his rain up first then I can safely assume he's running Choice Scarf. Whenever the lead is weak to a fire move I use HP [Ground] instead in hopes of me luring in a Heatran. Hidden Power on Heatran is a 2HKO even without the Sp. Attack investment. Only basically use this poke to set up my weather and usually just to tank some special hits when my opponents weather user fainted.

Calm (+Sp. Def./-Attack)
252 HP/252 Sp. Def

- Toxic
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rocks

Replaced Cresselia with Heatran to deal with my dragon problem. Kind of hesistant about that choice but ohh well.

Jolly (+Speed/-Sp. Attack)
252 Attack/252 Speed

- U-Turn
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch

My second sun abuser, U-Turn to scout, Flare Blitz to just truck whatever stands in my way, Choice Banded Close Combat just owns everything.. My team lacked a priority user so Mach Punch came to be.

Modest (+Sp. Attack/-Attack)
252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed

- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb/Hidden Power [Fire]
- Growth

This is the head-honcho of my team, this guy is just an absolute beast. Sleep Powder on the switch, if it hits I feel safe enough to go for a Growth (increases Attack and Sp. Attack +2 in the sun) and just Giga Drain everything in sight. I was thinking of switching Sludge Bomb for Hidden Power [Fire] because steel types resist my dual stab. Also thinking of putting Black Sludge instead of Lefties for the lols.

Gliscor @
toxicorb.png

Impish (+Def./-Sp. Attack)
252 HP/176 Def./88 Speed

- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Protect

This standard Gliscor usually finds itself in all my teams most of the time. He's an absolute beast, 88 Speed to beat speed ties with other Gliscors and Ice Fang them to death, Swords Dance to give him a physical presence. Protect for scouting/toxic healing.

Rotom-w @
Leftovers.png

Bold (+Defense/-Attack)
252 HP/140 Defense/112 Sp. Defense

- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunderbolt
- Pain Split
- Substitute

I felt like my sun team needed a water move so Rotom came in, even though in the sun water is weakened I felt like I needed Rotom in case my Ninetales died and they got their weather up. Trick messes up common walls like Ferrothorn. Shadow Ball is just there for coverage and Volt Switch for scoutage. Mainly used as a revenge killer.

So yea, this is my team. Rate ahead

I've been considering Snorlax as a substitute for Rotom since Snorlax can wall water type moves due to thick fat, i'm not sure yet.

nice team
This team is pretty weak to rain teams. Only rotom can wall them, but the problem is, your rotom is not built to be a wall. I recommend this set:

Name: SubMarine
Bold nature 252hp/140Def/112Sdef
-substitute
-will-o-wisp
-pain split
-thunderbolt

This set is a physical wall. Having both sun and hydro pump is .......

Btw, I really like your use of Cresselia(My favourite pokemon). Have you considered using it as a full support pokemon? Like dual screens, status shuffler, or toxic stall? Cresselia is not meant to be offensive. Just think about it.

Hope I helped

I thought of switching Cresselia's Thunder Wave to toxic, but im not sure yet since I run a relatively fast team, i have no clue lol. the parahax helps a lot but yea.. I've never thought of using Rotom as a wall but with that I lose my revenge killer so potentially a scarfer in their team could drop me.. lol or something

Do'nt really have too much feedback for you here, I've used a sun team with Venusaur and Gliscor too, both of wich work to perfection when drought is up. Good choice :) However I do want to state that you definitely need to get some more writing done. The descriptions of your pokemon are very lacking. I'm not even sure if they reach the minimum of lines stated required following the RMT rules.

Dont see any obvious weaknesses so looks good. You might want stealth rocks on something. I think cresselia can learn it and would probably be better than lunar dance because if your about to die chances are your slower.

it's better to be the slower one while using Lunar Dance because the pokemon that comes in will basically get a free switch it.

Nice team. I suggest dropping calm mind for rest and adding a chesto berry to Ninetales for survivability. This also allows you keep your weather alive longer.

Your team has a large weakness to dragons in general so I suggest dropping psychic on Cresselia for ice beam.

I really recommend using Choice Band Snorlax over Rotom like you said. Without it, you team is brutally murdered by HP Gound Volcarona. Snorlax can also Pursuit trap big threats to sun like Chndelure or Lati@s.

To solve you dragon problem, I recommend using Balloon Heatran over Infernape with a moveset of HP ice, Earth Power, Fire Blast and Flame Charge. Balloon Tran can take on a lot of dragons

i replaced cresselia with heatran, but im still having some goofs here and there man.. idk. Infernape is like the main man of the team, his banded flare blitz tears through teams like crazy

i would advice running energy ball on your Venusaur since it can't learn Giga drain and have Chlorophyll. On a sun team Chlorophyll is way more useful than Overgrow so i suggest you replace Giga Drain. ;)
