I finally gave into the weather metagame to some success. I feel like a tool though, oh well. Here's my team:
Ninetales @
Calm (+Sp. Def/-Attack)
252 HP/252 SP. Def
- Will-o-Wisp
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Calm Mind
I'm a little iffy about this set, Ninetales is usually the fastest weather user so if Politoed sets his rain up first then I can safely assume he's running Choice Scarf. Whenever the lead is weak to a fire move I use HP [Ground] instead in hopes of me luring in a Heatran. Hidden Power on Heatran is a 2HKO even without the Sp. Attack investment. Only basically use this poke to set up my weather and usually just to tank some special hits when my opponents weather user fainted.
Heatran @
Calm (+Sp. Def./-Attack)
252 HP/252 Sp. Def
- Toxic
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
- Stealth Rocks
Replaced Cresselia with Heatran to deal with my dragon problem. Kind of hesistant about that choice but ohh well.
Infernape @
Jolly (+Speed/-Sp. Attack)
252 Attack/252 Speed
- U-Turn
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
My second sun abuser, U-Turn to scout, Flare Blitz to just truck whatever stands in my way, Choice Banded Close Combat just owns everything.. My team lacked a priority user so Mach Punch came to be.
Venusaur @
Modest (+Sp. Attack/-Attack)
252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb/Hidden Power [Fire]
- Growth
This is the head-honcho of my team, this guy is just an absolute beast. Sleep Powder on the switch, if it hits I feel safe enough to go for a Growth (increases Attack and Sp. Attack +2 in the sun) and just Giga Drain everything in sight. I was thinking of switching Sludge Bomb for Hidden Power [Fire] because steel types resist my dual stab. Also thinking of putting Black Sludge instead of Lefties for the lols.
Gliscor @
Impish (+Def./-Sp. Attack)
252 HP/176 Def./88 Speed
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Protect
This standard Gliscor usually finds itself in all my teams most of the time. He's an absolute beast, 88 Speed to beat speed ties with other Gliscors and Ice Fang them to death, Swords Dance to give him a physical presence. Protect for scouting/toxic healing.
Rotom-w @
Bold (+Defense/-Attack)
252 HP/140 Defense/112 Sp. Defense
- Will-O-Wisp
- Thunderbolt
- Pain Split
- Substitute
I felt like my sun team needed a water move so Rotom came in, even though in the sun water is weakened I felt like I needed Rotom in case my Ninetales died and they got their weather up. Trick messes up common walls like Ferrothorn. Shadow Ball is just there for coverage and Volt Switch for scoutage. Mainly used as a revenge killer.
So yea, this is my team. Rate ahead
I've been considering Snorlax as a substitute for Rotom since Snorlax can wall water type moves due to thick fat, i'm not sure yet.
