Personally I'd prefer running Hidden Power Fire on my Water-types due to Ferrothorn being everywhere. Water-types in themselves, bar quag, gastro, and politoed, are pretty rare these days anyway. Quag and Gastro aren't taking any damage from HP Electric and you might as well use STAB rain boosted Water-type attacks against Politeod as Surf is probably just as good against Politoed as HP Electric is.

So imo HP Fire > HP Electric on Water-types.

and hp grass>hp electric.

id rather run something like hp grass if yoou really have trouble with gastrodon with your rotom-w or watever.

Just two little questions about the tiers. When the borders between RU and NU will be well-defined? And when the Limbo will be empty?

Just two little questions about the tiers. When the borders between RU and NU will be well-defined? And when the Limbo will be empty?

1.) NU will be created when OU and UU settle down. The border between the two will become well-defined when RU settles down and NU's ban list (if it has one) is created.

2.) Limbo will be empty when the tiers settle down. Limbo is where Pokemon who don't have a definite tiering yet are classified, so it will gradually empty as that list becomes smaller.

Need someone to run some damage calcs for me... how much difference does 117 attack vs 140 attack make?

What do you mean? As a base stat? A EV spread? A total stat?

A stat at level 100... I'm using Dragon Tail Milotic for Wi-Fi and I'm trying to see if the difference is negligible...

I believe you'll deal about 27% more damage with the higher attack stat, but it's not much of a difference since, testing with a Weedle with no investment (96 Def at Level 100), it's the difference between a 3-4 hit KO and a 4-5 hit KO (AKA the damage you're dealing isn't going to be large enough for it to matter IMO).

What is the normal flinch rate for iron head?,i checked on Smogon's and Serebii's databases and got no information. i even tried to google it, with no avail.

Yay 123rd post ^-^

30%, these types of things can easily be found by Googling "Iron Head" or looking it up on our site.

For the record, both Serebii and Smogon list the effect as 30%.

Since you have an anti sandstorm pokemon, you need an anti rain pokemon.
i recommend gastrodon or virizion.

also, spinblockers arent really great cuz there arent really good spinners this round in this metagame.

I think I am decent at battling and predicting, but I have trouble being a decent team builder to cover all my holes, is there a decent place to learn how to build teams, that is not the RMT thread?

Just out of slight curiosity.

What kind of access points can I actually 'access' with my DS?

Even with password-enncypted networks, when I try to connect with my DS, it tells me that the access point's security settings are not supported by Nintendo or some crap like that.

afaik the only security settings supported by the DS are WEP and MAC addressing.

IRC, especially the #ratemyteam channel, is always a good idea, as they don't strictly require a completed team and can help you with the building process.
Of course, there has to be active people on there, but there generally are plenty.
