I wish I would stop getting people with 1400s,it's just a waste a time.
I'll add to everyone else by suggesting that you read around a bit before judging everyone in sight by misinterpreting what one person said.
"The arrogance of the posts on this site is out to the world," is a sweeping generalization that tells me you based this entire comment on things you've just heard about Smogon, and maybe on a select few personal experiences with Smogonites that do happen to be arrogant. But they are not indicative of the entire community. I love Pokemon. I love my in-game Pokemon, even if they are just in a game. I have plushes though I'm 23. I play to have fun. And I'm not the only one around here who enjoys the franchise to such a degree by far.

Well that was disappointing. Fought this one dude with a team of Hydreigon/Mienshao/Jellicent/Amoongus, and it was probably the funnest, most intense fight I had. And then he D/C'ed the moment he lost. Was a damn shame, because I was legitimately enjoying the match just as a battle of wits (which I thought was THE WHOLE DAMN POINT OF A CASUAL TOURNAMENT TITLED AUTUMN "FRIENDLY") and all he cared about was maintaining his 1925 ranking.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm used to this D/C'ing tomfoolery, but it this was the first time I actually had fun fighting someone who D/C'ed since most of the time they suck.

Well after yesterday i stood up till 6 in the morning trying to get to 2000, but got d/c'd so much. Im at 1994 and am ready to finally break the 2000 mark i've been trying to get.

I'm just curious, what do you use to connect to WiFi? I use a certain mobile hotspot and I've had similar issues.
EDIT: Nevermind, what we have are pretty different. I was just curious anyway, as I had problems that basically barred me from competing in this tournament.
Why do so many people use quick claw? And why does it always activate on crucial moments?
Because they are terrible players. Though probably because they have no other item to use so yea.
Because Quick Claw is for pros and only pros use them. That's why Quick Claw is pro.
I think I just gained 0 form a battle. He D/Ced but it still counted as a battle.
Hate that b/c as previously mentioned QC seems to have THE MOST INCREDIBLE timing and Rocky Helmet always forces me to rethink my strategy and in 1 occasion cost me a match against a noob (Saibot).
I've been wondering the same thing. I've seen one activate 3 turns in a row. O__o I could've sworn hax like that was Battle Subway only.

Thankfully, the Pokemon in question was asleep most of the turns it happened... Heh.

Got a new router yesterday and ever since then I have been getting disconnected as soon as an opponent is found and I have to wait at least 10 minutes to find an opponent.
It is such a shame that yet another battle ended with the opponent disconnecting on me.
JUANCA from California with a 1865 and a mirror team gave me the aqua screen of death just after his last pokemon went down. Too bad I really wanted to record that match and post on youtube for its entertaining value.

I finally got around to playing two more battles last night. I broke the 1600 barrier and now hold a record of 8 - 0.
I faced my first Golurk (w/ Ghost Gem) that launched a OHKO on my Mienshao. That thing can be quite the beast. I also saw an Escavalier which caught me a bit off guard.
Pokémon that I have yet to see on opposing teams this tournament:

Vanilluxe
Conkeldurr
Gigalith
Mandibuzz
Hydreigon
Those are the top six that I expected to see by now. The most common Pokémon have been Whimsicott, followed by Terrakion.

I'm getting pretty fed up of this tournament now. I'm back down at 1705, and will probably only do a few tomorrow. It's going to be weird going back to singles now...
Just about every team I see has either a chandelure or volcarona, or at least something to take care of amoongus or ferrothorn.
The 6 battles I have ready to upload to youtube are each paired and I tried to have a background song that had the same duration as the match itself. I'm hoping when I upload them so long as they have links to itunes for those songs that should be fine, otherwise I may need to re-upload them with the normal battle sounds.

Well it hits like a freaking truck, it has good coverage, Levitate, it's a dragon and it looks cool. Pretty much every ingredient imaginable to have a ton of use.
