Edit: sorry, I missed a little. You should adjust the target to account for the seconds you're off. Calibrated second is largely meaningless and illogical but adjusting it will throw off your calibration.

Thank you very much! Took me a while before I realized I was constantly hitting odd delays when trying for an even one, then I adjusted my year by one and now I've got the ID/SID combo I aimed for. Gotta love those flawless modest/calm spreads.

Next question. Is it possible to abuse my starter in HGSS, and if it's possible is there a guide for that floating around somewhere? Haven't managed to find anything so far.
 
RNGing On 5th Gen

I've been trying to figure out how to actually RNG, but I'm getting no luck.

I can't really help you with actual RNGing, but you might get help a lot easier from the 5th gen PRNG help thread (also stickied on this forum) and by being slightly more specific in describing your problem. :)
 
Lol yeah I don't really care anyways just want it for competitive use. So I need to know what frames to look for and and delays as well. I really need help in general though as I haven't RNG a pokemon yet just my ID/SID like I said.

Well download PokeRNG and just look for the spread that you want. Plain and simple as that. Once you find the seed you want then I'm pretty sure we can help :)

In HGSS any frame and delay is able to be achieved. I prefer <10,000 of a delay.
Frame is super easy so I usually leave the max frame alone. As with higher delays the frames are usually lower for the desired spread. You'll rarely ever see a frame needing to be hit above 400. Unless if you do a really small delay range.

You need to lower the IV value for atk to zero
realistically do a max delay of 4500 (edit this didnt need to change)
some result should be generated

Yeah, there are only a few hexflawless wild seeds, which are not Impish.
It's like Docile, Modest, Timid, and like one more I think.

When searching for spreads, I always leave the non-used attacking stat at =>0, as you don't care what it is. Also set all the other stats to =>30. As it's relatively hard to find a seed with all 31's in it.

There is an Impish spread that has 31/31/31/1/31/31 though.

Yeah I just found that the hard way xD Checked radio, hit delay, walked to Ho-Oh ended up on frame 7 (1 advance + 1 Starting + 5 for tripping 128 step count).

Nvm though, resaved and just hit and caught the correct Ho-oh this time :)

You can use Juggler Irwin! He's a great alternative, because he does the exact same thing as Elm and you don't have to do all that stuff. Plus, 2 out of his 3 responses are really short :3
