I saw this video today and it was probably one of the worst things I've ever actually had to experience. Seven minutes long of a judge, a "public defender," and his wife beating their daughter with belts repeatedly. The judge himself had odd rulings over child abuse cases, requiring video evidence for it to get a ruling. So his daughter filmed her father when he went off. Presumably over her installing a computer game on her computer.

I understand spanking. I can get why people would do it (though if I was ever a parent I would never do anything physically abusive towards my child -- nor would I do anything emotionally abusive.) It just sickens me that no one would help. The mother tells her to, "take it like a woman," and after several lashings and a few seconds of silence. The judge comes back in to do more damage.

I guess child abuse isn't really something that's taken lightly ever. I don't think I'd ever meet someone who would openly admit to abusing their child; whether it be sexually, physically, or emotionally. They know it's wrong, in most cases, so I don't understand why they would continue to do it if they are so ashamed to even admit it to other people.

I'll post the link to the youtube, but be warned it is extremely graphic. It's pretty unbearable to watch and really just makes you angry at the world. My only hopes are that this girl can actively pick herself up from this abuse that has happened throughout her life and make something of it. Go into law, do something to make sure that no one has to go through what she went through. In most cases abuse will just circle 'round to the child abusing her own kids -- I certainly hope that it's not the case for her at least.

it should also be noted that the video was from 2004, and the girl is obviously older now and actually posted the video to reveal her father for the monster that he is. of course, that's all revealed in the video description by the girl herself. I saw this on reddit two days ago and I couldn't watch the entire thing, at least not with sound. the comments on youtube are worse though. !_!
 
I haven't found a time to watch it in solitude yet. Apparently it was for pirating games, which is even more of a joke.

Yeah the video in the OP was some reposted one by some douche bag that felt like trying to put some funny comments in there that were sicker than the video itself.

The worst part about being from the internet, is that I've seen this so many times over the past few days I'm sick of hearing about it.

On a related note, I'm also all for spanking, but this is just rage beating. That's sickening, and good on this girl for doing something about it.

This is pretty terrible, I must admit.

But fyi, this "discipline" is normal in most Asian cultures, nothing outside of the norm. Granted, times are changing, and I suppose its slightly less socially acceptable, but it still happens on a regular basis.

Actually I'm pretty sure many other countries employ similar methods of discipline, they're just not blown up onto YouTube.

Regardless, it's still pretty sick that a judge who handles Child Abuse cases is the perpetrator...

See... It's one thing to spank ones kid... It's another to basically do what your high school bully does when you piss him off...

I do think that it's just a little bit overblown though I can't get a word in before I hear about this... D:
 
While I'm not against spanking with belts if necessary...what that guy in the video does is just way over the line.

This. It was her fault she got hit so many times. She should have just did what she was told, to bend over or turn around or whatever. I don't think she was been frequently, otherwise she'd know that when you're going to get hit, you got to do what you are told. I didn't think it would take her so long to figure it out...
I'm not saying it was her fault for getting hit in the first place, the computer game thing doesn't sound like a good enough reason to beat someone, but once she bent over, she didn't get hit as many times.

Youtube commenters aren't the brightest people on the internet >_> Regardless, there are still individuals who believe that physical abuse is a reasonable, if not recommended, method to teach children.

I haven't watched the video and I'm not sure if I could stomach it, having been in an abusive family myself (though foreign objects were only occasionally used in my experience). Regardless, I'm glad that the father is receiving his due punishment, although obviously it would be preferred if this kind of thing could be avoided altogether. As others have commented, this is far from an America-only problem, but that doesn't make it any more acceptable.

Yes, I'm serious. Did you watch the video without audio? She was being told to get on her stomach (or something like that, I watched the video yesterday) and she wasn't listening. Once she finally turned over, she got a couple weak smacks in the ass and that was it.
 
Don't forget that YouTube is the biggest Internet ghetto out there except for Yahoo!

I'm also disgusted at the responses to the video, though it's the internet, and we're watching it on the ghetto. There's a difference between 'rage beating' and plain discipline.
 
BlakBlastoise and Nastyjungle: I think that if she did listen to her father, she would've gotten off easier, but it was a horrible request and we couldn't honestly expect her to give in to being beaten that severely. And it goes without saying that the punishment was incredibly strict, but she was presumably breaking the law and her father is/was a judge so he would find it much more offensive than most parents. It definitely was too much, and the wife stepping in to support it made it that much worse

Yes, it is such a horrible request. I don't know what I would do if my parents commanded me to get on my stomach. Such a horrible father telling his daughter to do something which would put her in a position so the belt would do less damage.
Obviously he didn't care too much, since he was beating on her in places other than her ass, but he did tell her to get on her stomach. The reason for that is to obtain easy access to her ass. cause you know, you can't really do any horrible damage by spanking someone's ass with a belt.
