5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

You're having problems because you don't have the Arial Rounded MT Bold font on your system. EDIT: Yeah, Googling around for the same error, it looks like you don't have it installed. I figured all Windows machines came with it, but apparently the newer versions left it out for some reason. Will try to use a more universal font in the future.

That font is used for the donation-request box that pops up. When it fails to load, a bunch of other things needed to make RNG Reporter work don't load.

In the meantime, I suggest you make sure Nature, Ability, and Encounter Slot have "Any" and not be blank before clicking Generate.

Seriously? Wow....how can I fix that?

Edit: I looked in C:\Windows\Fonts and it shows up there =( Darn computer T-T

Edit #2: Did that, works but a whole bunch of info is missing from the boxes.
Also, I'm currently using a 2003 Windows XP O.o

Also remembered that shininess is shown in the PIDRNG, not the Standard. So forget about that part >.>

I'm trying to RNG the movie victini with my dsi. I calibrated my dsi successfully yesterday and got a seed today. No matter what though, I can't seem to hit my initial frame and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. Details below:

Collected the wondercard on Dec 6.
Method: BW Wondercard (5th gen)
RNG seed date is on Dec 16 (does this matter?)
RNGing in victory road pokemon center (with no NPCs)
When RNGing I get repetitive results so I'm sure I'm doing my keypresses right and everything but I just cannot for the life of me match my result to the chart after calculating the initial PIDRNG frame. I tried again by generating some more wondercard seeds with random IVs and did the RNG and still cannot match my result to the initial frame...
So I'm completely lost here if anyone can help that'd be appreciated :)

Try out each one and see which one is right lol

Both of them didn't work I think, I got the Swanna though, but I don't understand how. Lol.

Seed: 6EB290623C63ED64
Target frame: 497 (Sync)
Method 5 PIDRNG: Cave Spot
I had to do steps to advance my IV frame. This is on Marvelous Bridge, so PID advancements would be much lower.
After 130 steps I ended up next to the shadow.
0 advancements: Wing
1 advancement: Wing
2 advancement: Encounter; I deduced this as being frame 48 (Level 50, Bashful, Often Dozes Off, Ability 1 and Male).

So I did some simple math to determine that after my steps and without advancements, I'd be at frame 46 when entering the shadow. So I had to chatter 451 times. (I screwed up on this multiple times). Here's the frames I hit on those screwups (They were both encounters):

495 and 499. Then, I hit frame 497 and got my shiny.
However, I can't seem to find a researcher setup that'd make all of those frames have a value that is lower than 200, which should give an encounter according to Bond in the RNG Research Thread.

So was I just lucky? Or is there a Researcher setup I missed?

A strange side effect of the font not loading correctly...also, the IV's aren't displaying right anymore =(

Hmmm.... okay yeah, I can't even seem to do a successful parameter check on my 3DS. I'm either completely off with my timing, or there's something else that I'm doing wrong :| (or maybe it's still not working 100% right anyway since hey, beta).

Oh well, it's not 'really' that much of a big deal. I'll just stick to my DS Lite for the time being where I can at least hit my seeds most of the time and I already know what I'm doing. I'll wait until there's better tutorials on that or something.

But for now, I still have a Victini to get /o/
Edit: And I finally caught myself a 31/31/31/13/30/31 Jolly 8D

for the highlighted seed, the PIDRNG starts at 47, right? And to get a shiny I'd have to do 330 Chatot flips, right?

Also just for future reference, I have a Dream World Eevee that I got from a trade from Japan. If I were to breed it with an English Pokemon on an English cartridge I would have to select 'BW (international)' for the breeding type instead of 'Black/White', right?

Did you account for the fact that the delay between you starting the game and the actual game start time is ~8 seconds on a 3DS, as opposed to 1 second on a DS Lite?

@The Agonist: Thanks /o/

I tried searching in a wider time gap (20 seconds apart instead of 10) but still wasn't finding my seeds. Although I wasn't sure either if you still needed to reboot the system before going into the game or not.

I'll probably mess with it more at a later time.

Is it just me or can anyone else not close the Seed to Time window? I click on OK and Cancel but nothing happens. Using 9.92.

Nope, I cant do it either. However going to another window or minimizing it gets rid of it. Which isn't necessarily a good thing.

I need some help with the larvesta egg. I read that it has it's own method, and it starts on IV frame 2. Does that means that i have to advance the IV RNG first, then do my advancements to the PIDRNG?

Before, to RNG wild Pokemon with the standard seed method, I would just sweet scent in the grass, and if it's not the Pokemon with the nature/ability I want, I would restart and chatter once. Then restart and chatter twice. And so on until I get lucky and snag the one I want.

This obviously sucks for Pokemon who only appear less than 50% of the time. So is anybody kind enough to explain to me how I use encounter slots and how I can pin down the Pokemon I want out of the grass with the right ability/nature combo?
I would love you forever.

I believe any seeds found under "Larvesta Egg" have the IVs already accounted for. You'll just need to worry about PID advancements. You'll need to set the min and max frames to 2.

I'm using the Relaxed HP Fire seed, all I need to do is do two chatot flips, but I'm not getting any shiny. There aren't any NPC's, or anything else that I'm aware of that could be causing the PIDRNG to advance, so why isn't it shiny? I'm not having a problem getting the IV's or anything either.

What are you trying to capture? Are you sure you're hitting your seed?

I'm just using it to practice on Kyurem, to get the hang of it. I catch it, and it has the iv's it's supposed, it's just not shiny like it should be.
