For god's sake prisoners are people too. They have families and people who love them. What next? Are we going to experiment on these people now too since they're obviously lesser beings to us? How would you feel if your life was suddenly designated as being worth shit?
Latin America as well as South America have been suffering from corrupt governments and military for years. Sadly, it's been largely ignored since people basically like to choose one thing to be angry about and ignore everything else.
There is a reason why people immigrate illegally to America, you know.
Basically one of the only reasons why the amount that survived did survive is that there was one prisoner that was also working as a nurse who found the keys to the cells and unlocked them in order to let the other prisoners escape safely.
There are many theories why the fire was started. And no, they are NOT all about crazy criminals. The prison staff just spread that story around in order to make it seem like it was less their fault.
And no it is not unheard of that Honduran prison officials would kill off prisoners in order to minimize prison overcrowding.
