For god's sake prisoners are people too. They have families and people who love them. What next? Are we going to experiment on these people now too since they're obviously lesser beings to us? How would you feel if your life was suddenly designated as being worth shit?

Latin America as well as South America have been suffering from corrupt governments and military for years. Sadly, it's been largely ignored since people basically like to choose one thing to be angry about and ignore everything else.

There is a reason why people immigrate illegally to America, you know.

Basically one of the only reasons why the amount that survived did survive is that there was one prisoner that was also working as a nurse who found the keys to the cells and unlocked them in order to let the other prisoners escape safely.

There are many theories why the fire was started. And no, they are NOT all about crazy criminals. The prison staff just spread that story around in order to make it seem like it was less their fault.

And no it is not unheard of that Honduran prison officials would kill off prisoners in order to minimize prison overcrowding.

I gotta agree with iDunno here. Yes they DID commit crimes yes they were bad influenced! But they have people who love them!

As much as I am proud of my country and all. I agree it is a shit country with shit police and a shit government. You didn't see or feel what all Honduras felt when it happened with so much shit going on that happens? UD that goes for you! You also didn't see how ovvercrowded the people were outside the prison. The only thing you could hear were women and child screaming and crying. It was a horrible sight.


When I said holocaust I wasn't compairing it to THE holocaust. I meant that some people think that was the worst massacre of Honduras sharing a kind of resemblance to the holocaust. The Holocaust was a horrible thing anyone who compares it to something else, well, they're full of shit. That was kind of the Honduran-version Holocaust. Yes I get i should've used a different word and I will fix it now.

Yes people die in fires. And prison fires happen. This is not new. In fact, it has happened like 3 times in recent history in Honduras. So no it isn't as funny as you think it is.

Why are you guys even dignifying the notion that guards shot people enough to have an argument about cynicism when;

Fires like this have happened before and while "holocaust" is kind of bullshit it's the right kind of reaction, the one where people realize this was horrible and should move to make changes. Coming up with conspiracy theories or blaming the guards (a symptom, not a cause) will not help.

Can't really fault the discussion then, but I still don't think it is the smoking gun here.

I think the story that the prisoner who was about to start the fire called the governor is fishy as fuck sure, but I think it is more likely a case of shifting as much as blame as possible away from them when even though this surely wasn't a planned event it was still their fault.

I don't know what the fuck is going on down there in Comayaguela, I don't know if the fucking devil is rising up. Some little markets burnt down to ashes. The iinteresting thing? The highest officer of the prison was there, along with a recent drug baron.
