Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (DS, June in JP, Fall in EU/NA/AU) - Updated May 12th

Anyone think that someone tried to fuse all three back together and the formes are just midway through the process? Like Plasma has two, it needs the final?

Everyone is assuming these are "fusions" merely based on appearance, but we have no idea how they tie into the plot. I'm interested to see what it turns out to be.

I don't get why everyone keeps stating that they'll be fusions, when we already found the placeholder data for just Kyurem, they're being called "Black Kyurem" and "White Kyurem" by the official guys... you know, I think that's one of the worst part about the designs, it's way too unclear as to what the fuck it really is. That's one of the biggest reasons I hate them so much. Like, with Shaymin, how they changed the overall shape but kept most of the features, we were all like "oh sweet it's Shaymin," and that was a good design. But now they come out with this shit and it's like "...wtf is that?" Poor choice on your part, Frame Geak, poor choice.

I honestly think that they'll ditch the dragon typing and make them fire/ice and electric/ice. After all, the point in the story is that kyurem was the original dragon and then split into reshiram and zekrom. The remaining pieces of corpse were then thrown into an abyss. Then, a comet from space (deoxys much) landed in the abyss, and some kind of ice alien took over kyurems body and basically turned it into a zombie (further supported by it's facial features and story of it eating humans). So i think they could do something really cool in the story where after you stop team galactic you get both legendaries, but then you find out kyurem is eating everyone so you go to stop it but the evil ice thing from space leaves kyurem and takes over reshiram and zekrom.

no.

They'll still be dragons. It even SAYS so in BW, that the legendary DRAGONS reshiram and zekrom were originally one DRAGON. Ice/Fire and Ice/Electric would suck so bad anyway why anyone would wish for or anticipate those typings boggles the mind.

Simple solution for simple stupidity.

STAB BoltBeam says hi Elec/Ice. Only Ice/Fire is meh. People are thnking these typings because the new forms look like Ice pokemon kinda, and People believe they are mixing pokemon so they would gain the unique typing instead of what they all share.

And let's not forget that you just said you expected the ice part to be from an entirely alien (get it?) entity, meaning that it would eliminate the part of Kyurem that actually relates it to Zekrom and Reshiram.

Well we don't know who we're playing as. Who knows? Might just be a random kid. I do NOT see us playing as the same characters unless something horrible happens to our Pokemon. Continuing with high level Pokemon wouldnt be a wise move as the thrill of the Pokemon 1 player quest is leveling up, learning moves, and evolving/catching new Pokemon. So the question is...what happens to the Kyurem we caught? Does it get free and go berserk? What made it go evil or whatever? Was that part even Canon?
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but remember how N is constantly shuffling his Pokemon? Never uses the same ones in battle twice? This doesn't hurt the speculation that we could be playing as N -- starting from a clean slate with an existing character would make sense then.
Now, he does have Zekrom/Reshiram... but he didn't actually catch it right? He just sort of befriended it? Might be your legendary dragon partner flies off somewhere on it's own (and mixes up with Kyurem or something) and you re-encounter it later. Sort of Suicune-esque.

Watch them be Dragon/Dragon-type. Latios Draco Meteors? Dragonite Outrage? Little girls compared to Double-STAB Draco Meteor & Outrage!

Pokemon is not known for uber complex stories, perspective changes, and crossovers. I think that idea is a little Farfetch'd.

Wow.

Anyways, no one has mentioned playing as Ghetsis? Although this sounds stupid it could be possible. This isn't the first time Nintendo pulled something harebrained - after all, we expected Grey and got 2 sequels?

The story could be about Kyurem aiding Ghetsis and then screwing one of the other dragons to steal their soul and making a baby screwed-up-dragon
...
Do we have anything concrete on the plot?

I have a feeling that they'll be Dragon/Ice seeing as they're different forms of Kyurem. I don't think any Pokemon has had its types change with new forms given within a generation (Wormadam always had 3 forms while Rotom didn't change types until BW). I don't think the game would be able to handle having a different type for them if BW2 battled BW1.

As for what's unused in the coding, no Pokemon learns V-Create, Freeze Shock, or Ice Burn by level up, Egg move, or in-game event and there are two placeholders for Kyurem forms. Secret Sword and Relic Song can be obtained if you have Keldeo and Meloetta. We already got the event Victini with V-Create and we now know what the forms are so now all we need is a confirmation that these two new forms get the last unused moves.

I am with the masses that are wielding mixed feelings about the new installments. In my opinion there are pros and cons for the sequels.

Pros:
*the prospect of a longer more fully developed story line is amazing and something the series needs.
*new pokes (even if only the two mascots) always brings excitement to the table.
* sequels often take the good from a game, enhance it, and add to it.
*it's another Pokemon game! :)

Cons:
*its not a traditional "3rd" game, combining exclusives from both games and adding a new feature the others didn't have.
*will these games be Pokemon with a story, or a story set in the Pokemon world?
*sequels often get too involved with certain aspects of a great game and overlook the other parts that made it so.
*it's another Pokemon game! :(

There's my two cents.

i think its more likely that, if there is another region added to the postgame its somewhere entirely new rather than Hoenn. As someone already pointed out Hoenn is an island in the same region as Johto/Kanto etc. and Unova is meant to be isolated and very far away.

Ok, so, here's my speculation on Kyurem's formes:

White Kyurem
Dragon/Ice
125/90/90/130/130/95

Black Kyurem
Dragon/Ice
125/130/130/90/90/95

Ya know, because they already did the same thing with Giratina.

And if they don't have Pressure, I actually realized they might have something like Motor Drive and Flash Fire.

now that I think about it...
since this is a sequel picking up after the end, does that mean you start with Zekrom/Reshiram?

FFFFFUUUUUUU

What if these new formes turned out to be alternative formes of Reshiram and Zekrom, like Reshiram-K and Zekrom-K? From the designs, it sort of looks like Kyurem is corrupting the black and white duo, especially since it's taken over one of each of their arms, and one side of their heads only. They might just end up not changing stat wise (although bumping up to 95 base speed would be cool), except for the movepool additions of Ice Burn and Freeze Shock giving them cool Ice-type coverage.

Wouldn't help out the original Kyurem much, but meh.

I don't think it's complex- I'm just saying if we were to play as N, there would be some basis for it. No one could say "It doesn't make sense to be N and start with no Pokemon" because he is always releasing and getting new Pokemon in BW anyway.

I like these stats but I think one of those 130's should be a 150 to get it up to 680 BST like Reshiram and Zekrom.

At best, I think any new region we get will be like the Sevii Islands in FRLG.

That would be funny if we played as N. Gamefreak would do that just to troll us since we make fun of N.

Also, I think the "distant island" is going to be kind of like the Battle Zone in DPt.

I have 1 speculation about this.
Everyone is saying that it's the original dragon, split into two, and kyrem is the leftover husk.

What I think is that the black and white kyrem, that they can give you access to the normal kyrem if you have both formes, kinda like getting landorous with the other genies.

Could something along the lines of this be added to the first post?

- All we know about the games at the moment is the approximate release dates and that Kyurem Black and Kyurem White (for that's their names, it is confirmed) are in them.

This is probably a little too harsh and it's not 100% certain, so it would probably not be worth it to put it in the first post, but I have hopes of somebody reading it anyway:

- As far as typing and base stats go, it's been speculated to death already. Unless you're an exceptionally good post writer, you'll add NOTHING to the thread by commenting on the horrible defensive capabilities of Ice/Fire or STAB BoltBeam of Ice/Electric. Triple typing is NOT going to happen, the current coding doesn't allow it.

- N will not be the main character of the games. The main character has always had as little back story as possible, because YOU are implied to be in it. Playing as N would also remove the staple choice of playing as a boy or a girl, something that has been in the games since Crystal.

- We're still mid-generation. There will be no entirely new Pokémon, moves, hold items, abilities and most likely no new regions. Expect no new major game mechanics either.

- As far as we know, this will be released on the DS only. Stop whining.

- 60-something people are probably viewing this thread as you read this. No need to comment on it, it was 340 while the show aired.

- The game logos contain red and blue, like sapphires and rubies. Or like fire and electric sparks. Or the main colours of Tentacool, we honestly have no idea what it's supposed to mean. Apart from the Tentacool thing, this has been argued back and forth to no avail for two days now. Try pointing it out once more and see if something happens.

Giovanni led a massive crime syndicate that spanned across multiple regions
Archie and maxie may have been idiots, but their antics nearly destroyed the world
Cyrus was an emotionless maniac that nearly destroyed THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE and built a new one
N whined like a bitch

conclusion: playing as N would suck

I agree with absolutely everything here except the N thing. No one knows for sure, and there are reasons why we believe it's possible. I wouldn't say anything saying a wholehearted yes or no in regards to that point, but I'll agree with every other point in relation to N being the player character, in that it's been speculated to death.

EDIT: Begin Tentacruel speculations.
