Drogba!

He's been on the ground for most of the 1st-half, but he's put Chelsea ahead here. Messi caught in possession, swfit break by Ramires, centres to Drogba to tap in.

1-0 Chelsea HT

Unbelievable stuff from Chelsea! Drogba what a beautiful motherfucker. Great match overall, Chelsea defended like their lives depended on it and got lucky once or twice but their workrate and effort deserved the result.

Also congrats to Lee on the size of his cojones, decent result there!

You're pretty delusional.

Were we watching the same game? I mean sure I wouldn't say they "dominated" since even though they were on the offensive the entire time, they rarely converted it into chances. But still, they had 3-4 chances that they should have put away. Especially right there at the end. That was one of the most brutal endings to a game I've seen in a while.

p.s. Drogba has a real knack for making the game unwatchable at points

Barcelona should have score about 5. No delusion about it.

Drogba is a great player, slow your roll.

Chelsea got extremely lucky.. gl on the away leg.

Heh, I said Bayern 2-1 Real and Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona for the first legs and they both happened :3

I'm saying Real 3-1 Bayern at the Bernabéu, but the Barca/Chelsea game is more difficult to judge. I think Chelsea will have to at least score if they want to make it to the final. I'll go with Barcelona 2-1 Chelsea.

I was talking delusional on the OP because he said Barcelona dominated Chelsea like they didn't do shit. Yeah Barcelona never converted, and they did get lucky with that Sanchez pole hit, but he wasn't even giving Chelsea a chance.

Barcelona is a great team, I won't say they aren't. But you should respect them, not fear them.

Fuck that if Chelsea score just one goal at Camp Nou Barca will be in deep shit.

No no no no no this is not good. Hopefully Barca will smash Chelsea like they should have done today. A 3-0 better happen. They can do it.. Chelsea hasn't got the caliber of Barcelona as a team or individual players and I don't see them pulling this off but it'll be a crazy game so I can't wait. The same goes for Bayern/Real. Bayern was my favorite team as a kid and I remember crying when ManUtd came back to beat them. Bayern/Barca final would be a dream come true for me. El Clásico will happen this weekend I don't want another in the final.

God dammit. Make that 3-0 happen...I can only imagine them winning 3-1/ 2-0 and then Chelsea pulling off some last second counter attack to steal the show.

I honestly don't think 1-0 will be enough for Chelsea, the wider pitch at the Camp Nou means a lot more chances will be created, as long as Barcelona don't finish like they did in the first leg they should still go through.

It'll be interesting if Chelsea score first, though.

1-0 might not seem like a lot but the important thing is the 0 in the scoreline;we have a good chance to go through on away goals even if we concede.

^exactly, and one goal would put enormous pressure on Barca to score and open them up for counter-attack, I don't like the situation at all.

Chelsea will need a lot of luck they are gonna get torn apart in Barcelona, they are pretty much unstoppable at home, i think they have a perfect record outside of three draws all season two of which were to Milan and Madrid. They are averaging something crazy like 4 goals a game at home. Bigger pitch, better weather, Pique most likely back.

Despite Barcelona's 'domination' I'm of the opinion that it was a truly class defensive display from Chelsea. Manchester United and Inter Milan have managed to do that to Barcelona before, but at least managed to create more chances and hold onto the ball more. If you can stay organised and have a bit of luck, it's very possible to beat Barca and that is exactly what Chelsea did. There will always be difference in opinion of whether a performance like this was good defensively or if Barcelona were dominating and unlucky. It's probably somewhere in the middle, though.

It'll be a lot harder to shut out Barcelona at the Nou Camp, but Chelsea have done it before and so have Man United (and probably some other teams but I can't think of any right now). The biggest miss by Chelsea in the home leg was not putting enough pressure on Mascherano and Puyol. If they got either of those players booked by attacking them more, they'd have missed the second leg and been in a bit more trouble. Maybe that's a bad 'strategy' on my part, but it's something I would have looked into if I was managing Chelsea. You need to take any advantage you can get within the laws of the game against a team like this.

Chelsea will have to score if they want to go through, I think that is simple enough. They'll probably have to score first, too. It'll be interesting to see what tactics they go with, as sitting back on a one goal lead from the first leg won't work. Perhaps sitting back on a 0-1 (0-2) lead overall will be enough, as even at the Nou Camp I'd fancy Chelsea to not concede three if they are disciplined. Both these semi finals are interesting as they have gone the way I expected and hoped they would to set up two very promising return legs.

Barcelona and Real Madrid will have to attack as much as, if not more than they ever have before if they want to progress and that is exciting. However, Bayern Munich on the counter attack will be so dangerous that Madrid will have to be careful, while Barcelona will find it difficult to break Chelsea down if they don't score first. Two contrasting games and I'm sad that I'll miss both. Hopefully I'll get to see the highlights, though.

I think Chelsea will play the same team again, the only change I can see is Essien over Meireles for more of an engine in midfield.
