I didn't watch much of the Arsenal game. Started watching in the second half and then had to go out. 0-0 isn't a 'bad' result. I would have liked us to win but at least it puts the pressure on Newcastle and Tottenham now to win their two games in hand to draw level with us. I feel bad for Walcott now he's injured again, I think he really wanted to go to the Euros after being left out for the World Cup last time. Ah well, hopefully Arsenal pull up their socks now and win the last 3 games. If we don't win our next game then the doubts will come rushing back!

What a coincidence! I had to go out in the second half too(66 mins) but i had watched the match from the start.I knew we wouldn't score early on when i saw the line up >_< Was a pretty dull game and,as i left,i prayed and hoped that Sturridge would end his dismal run of form as of late and score one as both Malouda and Kalou didn't look like they had their scoring boots on.Groaned in disgust when i returned home and read the headline 'Arsenal and Chelsea play out stalemate' on my phone -.- Torres didn't play very bad but he certainly didn't look like he could cause Barca any problems and so i can only hope Drogba recovers before the second leg.

Ok. The game today was alright. 1-1. We really coulda done with the win though. Blackburn and QPR's victories sees us 4 points adrift. Had some chances to win it. So did Swansea. Plenty of people 'ejected' from the game though, mostly Swansea fans :P

I reckon we need 2 wins and 2 draws in our remaining 5 games, leaving us with 38 points. 7 might do it, but I doubt it thanks to our awful goal difference from all the 5-0 and 4-0 defeats early season.

I love how Walcott is injured badly again.. after a few days ago he mentioned in an interview how he's happy he can finally play free and not have to worry so much about carrying an injury and all the added stress that comes with an injury. That he's glad he's had an injury-free season.

tsk tsk.

i don't know much about goalkeeping, but it looked like valdes was horribly out of position for ronaldo's goal. definitely the most overrated keeper around

Imo, Guardiola's formation was terrible. 3 central defenders might look look good and safe but it was borderline suicidal without any wing backs. It was also actually very unnecessary given that Real Madrid play with a lone striker.

Barca were dominated on the wings and Dani Alves just doesn't do it for me as an inside forward. he's only dangerous when he attacks from deep positions (rb) without any marker. coentrao was always going to force him to go inside where he's virtually useless.

Good referee though, was more or less lenient.

Adriano marking Pepe during the corner for Real's 1st goal was also questionable.

Suspect goalkeeping from Valdes as well. Casillas, on the other hand, was immense.

Really happy with this win in any case, Bayern next!

Messi is still miles ahead of Ronaldo, he has had to carry a front line consisting of academy players, a midfielder and someone in his first season in the spanish league.

Ronaldo has already proven himself in the toughest league in the world and, for that reason, I'm more inclined to give him the nod. Messi has an amazing record and is a joy to watch but was it not you, latinoheat, who said that La Liga is basically a few good teams and then a dozen teams at the same quality level as Blackburn?

he has a poor record when playing in england (something like 8 games, 0 goals) and i wasn't surprised at all by his muted performance against chelsea last week. and to come out and say this:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4256991/Lionel-Messi-I-never-want-to-play-in-England.html

i dunno man, i think the 'best in the world' should have proven himself in more than one league. that's all.

edit: man utd scored twice in the time it took me to write this v_v

if this ends as it is, and City beat Wolves, then City will go top if they beat Man Utd next week.

squeaky bum time?
