Btw, how about Di Matteo? He's pretty good for a temporary coach IMO, I think he has a lot of potential, he could be the next star coach

Yeah I agree, if Abramavich is really stupid enough to not keep Di Matteo I could see him leaving to a club that wants him, and I'm sure there will be plenty.

No he's not gonna let him go,plan A is to hire a high profile manager like Guardiola or Blanc with Di matteo reverting to his assistant manager role.Giving Di Matteo a permanent role as head manager is sort of a last resort.

Di Matteo will leave if he doesn't get a permanent manager role. They'll be too much demand for him.

IMO if he doesn't stay at Chelsea he'll land a job in Serie A.

I don't see why Chelsea wouldn't give Di Matteo the job on a longer term basis. I know he was only bought in as a caretaker, but he's got them to two cup finals, and has been getting more positive results than the "wonderboy" AVB was. I just think it's shame they demand better when they have someone doing a good job already there.

I don't even want to contemplate who Spurs are going to get. Harry clearly DGAF now the England job is there for him, which is a shame. Probably going to end with an absulte turkey and undo the past few years hard work. Not excited for that.

And i heard Chelsea intends to sign Higuain, which is a kinda dumb move imo, they need a good defender more than a good striker... or not?

You're kidding right? This is a rare situation where two of our defenders are injured and one is suspended. All 4 of them are usually fit and any competition above that will be unhealthy. And again, you're kidding right? We NEED a good striker more than anything.Drogba is too old to play 90 mins every week,Torres is shit(although he seems to be heading in the right direction to rediscover his form, still not quite there) and Lukaku is inexperienced. We have to rely on our midfielders, wingers and centre backs to score goals >_> Our top scorer is Lampard and the only one even close to him in goal output is Sturridge who has score 10 playing as a winger. So yeah we badly need one.

Marin looks like a good signing from one glance at his statistics for Germany although i've never heard of him before.Good to see an attempt to recharge our slow and stale midfield.

Southampton go up :( wanted to see West Ham take it. oh well, at least there will be some south coast representation in the premier league next year!

Wow, Wigan pull out another amazing performance. I guess I still wouldn't count out Newcastle pulling something back with the goal threat they have, but I'd fancy Wigan to hold onto that win now and I reckon that is them safe in the Premier League, yet again. Especially when they play Wolves last game, Wigan could have probably lost their next set of games and beat Wolves on the last day to survive. I think they've survived already now.

Sad for Newcastle, they probably had to win this game if they wanted to finish fourth, but I bet Chelsea go and win the Champions League, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. It's not over for Newcastle, but I would expect Spurs to pip them to fourth come the end of the season now and probably get dumped out due to Chelsea winning it (they'd love that).

knew this would be a tough game and wouldn't have been surprised in the least if wigan were to sneak something but even i'm shellshocked at what's happened here

still i think maybe we could get something if...oh wait, they just scored again nvm

haha HBK i wish! not giving up on them yet, but it's a long, long shot.

still, maybe this is the kick up the arse we need to go out and get something against chelsea on wednesday. if we have to lose it's better that we lose to the the teams at the bottom of the table, rather than lose a six-pointer against the teams around us.

and yeah i am taking this very well but what right have i got to be pissed off after the season we've had?

Don't really get why Marin was signed, don't Chelsea have enough wingers? I know he plays more in the centre at Werder but thats only because Ozil left and he has been pretty poor for two seasons since switching to that position.

He is too lightweight for the centre of the park and isn't a good enough passer to make up for it like Modric or David Silva, great dribbler nothing more.

Didn't know you watch Bundesliga

Newcastle's loss to Wigan and worse goal difference means Tottenham have a very realistic chance of finishing 4th (or 3rd...) now. With Newcastle facing City next, if Tottenham don't take this chance then they simply don't deserve CL football next season. It's all in Tottenham's hands now. I'd probably be happy enough if Arsenal just draw our last 2 games. As long as nothing silly like 2 losses should see us safe in top 4.

Podolski reportedly a done deal and M'Vila apparently very close, provided Van Persie stays, is it just me or does Arsenal actually look a bit stronger than at any time during the Fabregas era? I would absolutely love Vertonghen to be signed, and Squillacci and Djourou quietly moved on. But I think Wenger has a lot of faith in Djourou (he's on nearly the same wages as Van Persie...) so he'll probably not... After all Podolski and M'Vila is probably enough transfer excitement to last Wenger a good while.
