Check out this Celtic kit from 1991:

lol

My dad has that kit. He still wears it sometimes.
He's also got some of the outrageously colourful Schmeichel kits since he used to be a goalkeeper. Imagine walking down the street with your dad dressed like this:

I was planning to get a shirt next season, but now I've seen it I definitely won't. Might just see if I can get this seasons on the cheap instead.

I don't think we can discuss dire kits without bringing this one to everyones attention.

It's just so gorgeous.

if we're discussing bad strips then it's better to point it out myself before somebody else does...

On the topic of next seasons new kits, Liverpool will no longer have the kits sponsored by Adidas. Not that that is too bad, as the company who now have the rights (Warrior) have paid £25 million for the sponsorship rights. To put that in perspective, Nike give United £23 million, and Adidas were giving Liverpool £13 mil. Not a bad deal.

Django already jumped the gun on this so I'm allowed :P

THE TEAM OF THE SEASON!!!

Vorm;

Richards, Kompany, Skrtle, Baines;

Song, Cabaye;

Valencia, Rooney, Silva;

Van Persie.

Al Habsi; Walker, Caulker, Koscielny, Enrique; Sessegnon, Arteta, Bale; P Cisse, Aguero, Demba Ba.

OK starting with keeper first which was also probably the hardest position to pick. I chose Vorm because he was absolutely world class especially in the first half of the season. Although Swansea was playing well I felt that they were still settling into the PL a bit and every game there would still be quite a few situations when they were cut open but Vorm was there every single time it was unbelievable. So many outstanding saves, shots arrowing towards the top corner that Vorm flies across and puts out like it was nothing. Swansea could establish themselves and start playing really well partly because of how good Vorm was, and imo he is easily gained Swansea 10 points. If Swansea had a keeper like Cudicini or Almunia I think they would very likely be fighting for relegation right now.

Al Habsi comes second because he has been outstanding for Wigan, and Wigan isn't anywhere near as good or consistent as Swansea. In fact they're poo, and I think a good 50% of games has pretty much been Al Habsi vs 11 men. The amount of games where Al Habsi has been single handedly fighting back an entire team, where he has a ridiculous 10 or 12 saves, and saving 4 penalties in the season, he deserves most of the credit for Wigan because everybody else on that team has effectively been clinging on to Al Habsi for dear life for most of the campaign.
This was much easier. Richards for me is the best right back in the country. He is so powerful, dependable, fast, has good awareness, and is by far the most attacking right back in the league. Every game he has played he has dominated the opposition winger and pretty much went forward at will and opponents just couldn't handle him. Being Vice-Captain of Man City tells its own story too.

Kompany again easy choice. Best defender in the league. Most of the league can still be found in his back pocket. Him and Vidic should make beautiful defender (test-tube?) babies.

Squirtle is there because he has been solid as a rock all season. Good heading ability, good presence, no fuss, calm and confident, he's a complete defender and second best in the league this year imo. And c'mon his name is Squirtle he should probably be first...

Baines again an extremely easy choice. He's dependable at the back, and has been raiding forward and delivering amazing crosses into the penalty box all season but Everton just didn't have anyone to put them into the net until recently. Baines the best left back in the country at the minute without question.
OK I decided Song comes first. This season he has been the most consistent player for Arsenal, and that is saying something considering there's the bloke from the Netherlands that has also done quite well. Song has strength, amazing reading of the game, wins almost every 1v1, and this season has added sublime passes to his weaponry. Half way through the season there was a ridiculous statistic that Song has made the most successful through balls in the PL, more than Silva and Mata and Modric! How many times have we heard pundits say Song has had a bad game? Or even got something wrong? Few or none is the sign of a great defensive player. On the other hand how many times have we heard pundits say 'what a sublime pass from Song to win the game!'? An unnaturally high amount of times! Song has developed into one of the best defensive mids in the world, and I wouldn't find it easy to argue against him being the best so he's on the list for me.

Cabaye comes next because he has been one of the most consistent and dependable players in the league. He kept being good and then producing moments of brilliance like free kicks into the top corner and stuff but it wasn't until his defence splitting pass to Cisse a few weeks ago that I thought this guy is bordering on ridiculous. When you've someone who has the vision and the ability to produce passes like that you know this guy is something special. He's more consistent than Modric this season, and I value consistency more than anything else but this guy has got bucketloads of magic on top. If he wasn't a cheese eating surrender monkey you could say he has everything.

Silva, very easy choice. Best left sided player in the league. Creative, elusive, you can never tell what he will do next. I love Cesc more but since the painful divorce Silva will have to do. Absolutely dripping with magic.

Valencia. If Silva was running the first half of the season, the second half is surely the Valencia show. OK he has been missing for a third of the season because of injury but when he has played he has been the best out and out winger in the PL. Intelligent, blazing fast, tricks, powerful shot, amazingly consistent cross, never makes a mistake, and most importantly, just gets on with his job! He happily plays right back with no fuss and still delivers crosses like a champ and has the energy to be solid in defence, and no moaning! SAF must be thinking he is dreaming because this guy plays like Ronaldo but without any of the baggage.
Speaking of running the show, this whole season has pretty much been the Robin Van Persie show. Give him the ball and he scores. No question asked. Whatever angle, whatever speed, whichever foot, whoever the opposition, you can count on Robin to deliver the goods. His goal at Everton, the defence was in a perfect position, he had nothing on, the goal keeper was in the perfect position, the ball was flying over his shoulder at an angle. Anybody who plays football knows how hard it is even to hit the ball in that situation, skying it would probably count as a decent connection and a decent effort. But to bend your body and control the shot, to know what your doing and direct it exactly to the one place the keeper could not physically get to (ie in off the far post) was just unbelievable and sums up his campaign. Nailed on to the team of the season I reckon.

Rooney's contribution is as much about attacking play and goals as it is about defending and generally being an all round unplayable player. He's running around tirelessly for Utd it's like having two players in one. He's got the engine of Ji Sung Park but the technical ability of someone like David Villa and the presence of a Bobby Zamora or Grant Holt. He's irreplaceable for Utd and can be arguably the best player in the world. Put it this way, I would have 11 Rooneys over 11 of any other player in the world. He's shown all his qualities this season.

Obviously a lot of good players didn't make it but hey, I just wasn't impressed enough!

Oh yeah I almost forgot, long post alert :P

if somebody's in Italy I'd like a muscle kit.

ok I kind of cheated with the strikers, but seriously who can argue that they didn't all deserve it?

Midfield took some time too, Toure, Cabaye, Modric, Song, etc turned my brain into a warzone. Even now I'm not completely sure, although Yaya probably has a leg up on em.

The odds are highly against Chelsea and I don't think they will be able to defy the odds. A full Bayern Munich squad, with the game in their home stadium, against a weakened Chelsea side due to yellow cards. Unless Torres decides to be a hero and score a few goals, then Munich is going to win.
