seems Carroll is finally getting in form

chelsea played with like, the reserves of their reserve team tho

watch nosferalto get all horny over a meaningless game against a weak squad

So last week of the premier league next week, what are people's team of the season, for me:

------------------Krul----------------

Baines--Konscienly/Coloccini--Kompany--Walker

-----------Yaya Toure/Cabaye-----

-Dempsey--------------------Valencia

------------------Silva----------------

-----------RVP----------Aguero-------

Subs

Vorm,Sagna,Leon Britton,Scholes,Rooney,Demba Ba,Yakubu

Vorm and Krul were the best two keepers this season for me, always consistent and they play on teams that are not as good defensively as Joe Hart who would be third choice.

Kompany is the best defender in the league no one except a fit Vidic is close imo, Konscienly still had the odd mess up but he has improved so much and was clearly Arsenal's best defender, Coloccini has been fantastic not sure out of these two.

The league seems to not have any standout full backs anymore

Silva was miles ahead of any player in the league till New Year dropped off a little but still very good.

Aguero just over Rooney because he has been just as good on his debut season in the league where Rooney has been around for years now.

With Papa Cisses excellent form since arriving, Demba Ba seems to have been pushed to the side despite pretty much keeping Newcastle in the top 5 for the first half the season.

Yakubu for being the only reason Blackburn took this long to get relegated.

Suarez is actually a beast, Liverpool absolutely need a decent midfield to support him. He'll stay at Liverpool for one more year at most imo, if Liverpool don't get CL football next season then he must be thinking of moving on if not this summer.

Also: Arsenal agree M'Vila deal

Since the Podolski rumours turned out so well, I've got my optimistic hat on for this one! I'm honestly surprised Wenger has signed Podolski and looking at M'Vila. Podolski is a big name and one of my favourite players from recent international tournaments, I never thought Arsenal would sign him; he seemed like a Man Utd player or Real Madrid player. M'Vila is the rising star of French football, he's being hyped up as the best French midfielder since Viera and is pretty much the French Jack Wilshere over there. If anything I thought City or Inter or AC Milan would buy him so again this Arsenal link is genuinely surprising me. Hopefully there are surprises down the line such as signing Vertonghen. C'mon Wenger use your pimp hustle!

That's good news, but if you look on the site you linked, they are saying that Vertonghen will likely join Spurs over Arsenal, which is disappointing.

Apparantly Vertonghen wants guarenteed first team football, and he believes he will have a higher chance of getting it with Tottenham. Shame, but I'd rather we focused more on M'Vila. Just the kind of guy we could use.

Still have plenty of doubts about Podolski, but now that he's signed I guess I'm obligated to give him a chance. We still need to improve out wide though.

Afellay seems like an extremely transparent attempt to please RVP. Well known fact that they're buds.

Vertonghen.. I'm really not bummed if we don't sign him. If anything.. getting him would just be a bonus. Tottenham isn't the way to go though.. hell no.

o dear chelsea.. 4-1 loss? at Anfield?

I think i remember a United loss at Anfield last season........yeah,the one where Suarez dodged your whole backline and nutmegged Van de saar for Kuyt to finish. And that was you're strongest side...while ours......do i still need to say anything after the match?

'Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish felt his first full season back in charge of the Anfield club would be defined as successful after the 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea.' - Sky Sports News

y/n?

in fairness to them, there's every chance they'll finish a respectable 7th place with a Carling Cup win under their belt and an FA Cup final appearance.

on the flip side they've only won 6 times at Anfield, have scored the same amount of goals as the relegated Blackburn, are currently 34 points behind the leaders and 13 points behind 4th place and worst of all, could finish below Everton. and they spent what, nearly £140million over the past season (plus £150million in the three preceding seasons)?

lets face it, will any Liverpool fan view a season as successful if they don't end up in the Champions League? and can you ever see Liverpool getting into the Champions League again with the Manchester clubs, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea so much more consistent than they are?

also bringing this onto the new page since it's a good post and i'd like to see more teams like it:

can't honestly say i'd change anything about that line up, except perhaps Cisse over Ba like you mentioned. oh and can't we just cheat and stick Bale at left-back? ^_^

oh and huge congrats to bilbao for getting to the europa league final with their totally unique teambuilding policy. sure latinoheat and co know all about it but i didn't know till my barber told me a few weeks ago...they only sign players who hail from the Basque region of Spain or (in rare cases) have direct ancestry from that region. It's basically equivalent to Arsenal only signing players from London or Newcastle only signing Geordies.

seems they have their fair share of critics and they are inarguably handicapping themselves but it's great for the fans and the local community. would like to see more clubs try this.

yeah I love the way Bilbao do things, Bielsa is my fkn hero too <3 gonna put some of yesterday's winnings (chelsea to win. that one did not pan out; liverpool 3+ corners than chelsea. that one did) on Bilbao to win!

c'mon you basque bastards <3

I watched the second half of the Europa League final, great quality football although Bilbao just couldn't do anything in front of goal. Really happy for Atletico.

Glad atletico won, since theyve been my second team for the past 5 or so years, but more importantly
