But what we know seems insubstantial because it's clear that they're hiding quite a lot behind that ice. We don't know who the other 4 Gym Leaders are, we don't know what role N will have in the game (beyond vague guesses), we don't know Achroma's true intentions, We don't know if either of the Junipers will appear, we don't know if the TMs List has been changed or not (or if there's Move Tutors)...

We may know a fair bit, but there's still a lot that's unknown.
The ice thing is big, but the rest... we don't usually get details like that until someone plays the game and tells us.

unless gamefreak decides be a troll. other than that i'm excited to see what's under the ice.

Really doubt they're going to be doing much. At least nothing involving a frozen unova. The ice clearly looks fake like it's hiding something but many seem to think it's real because of the animated trailer and frozen cities, which could clearly happen at some point in game due to something kyurem related.

I don't see anywhere in his post that seems to suggest that they would do a frozen Unova. He just wants to know what they're hiding.

Frozen Unova is the equivalent of talking about the Ice with all the rediculus rumours going around. I wasn't saying they were talking about frozen Unova but talking about the Ice always make people assume frozen Unova, backed farther by the video with frozen cities, but they could just be part of a story event.

@strategywin
I can't even respond sarcastically to how bad of an idea duel type moves would be.

The closest I could see them doing so would be a typed move that deals a different typed damage.
Like, I dunno, Scald? It's a water type move, would get water type stab, but could deal Fire type damage (yeah eay it's still water this is just a hypothetical).

A typed equivalent to Psyshock/Secret Sword, basically.

But none of that is going to happen this game anyway so

Pokemon World Campionship... That is something I have been waiting my whole life. Imagine the possiblities! Challenging all .. ALL the past Gym Leaders, Elite Fours, Champions, AND the other main characters from past games... Nerd-Gasm

Talking about main characters what role will the past main character do in this game?

Unknown role. We know nothing about the game accept the few gym leaders, only a few gym leaders and champions confirmed for world tournament (aka NO elite 4 confirmed), and some other things like types for Kyu forms and The Kami Trios new formes. Plus some new towns.

Well I can see them making a move exclusive to one pokemon that is dual type. Or they make an ability that lets all the pokemon's moves become part "insert type". (ex. If the Pokemon uses Close Combat and the "insert type" is ground, than CC becomes fighting/ground) Though that would be very broken and dual type moves would be very confusing to figure out. Like if a fire/ground move hit a grass/poison pokemon it would do like .5x or something, I'm not entirely sure.

It's not a Pokemon game without at least one awkwardly shaped gym badge.

Why?

1 (initial damage) x 2 (fire vs. grass) x 1 (fire vs. poison) x 0.5 (ground vs. grass) x 2 (ground vs. poison) = 2x damage.

Not really complicated. But maybe unnecessarily unintuitive.

Well it's complicated enough. xD

Next week on smash, it's going to show the functions of Pokewood. I would rather have more pokemon revealed or more plot, but I guess they're are saving that for the July issue of Corocoro.

How could that even work? In July the games will already have been released in Japan, Corocoro won't have anything to reveal anymore, we'll get ALL the information on the games by then, by the people playing the games.

Not everyone in Japan is like us, who tear the game apart in the opening days looking for everything. Besides, Nintendo's really anal about spoilers - apparently, their embargoes for Brawl secret characters were for a month after the release.

But people here can buy a Japanese copy of the game and then play it? There's a mode where you only need to read hiragana and katakana, if needed. I'm pretty sure that's what Serebii does anyway.

I think you will find that the July Issue is actually the issue released in mid-June, so it'll be published prior to the games' release, so CoroCoro will still provide some valuable information for us.

I'm hoping that issue may shed some more light on that ice, and a few more pokemon within the regional dex. I'm actually considering whether those in the dex will be pokemon evolution lines with high evolution levels. The Aggron line for example. I mean, a fair few of the pokemon in the regional dex that have been added have high evolutionary levels, along the same lines as many of the pokemon of the fifth generation.
