So, forme switching Pokemon in 5th gen:

Kyurem
Meloetta
Thundurus
Landorus
Tornadus
Keldeo

Even more annoying than the "obligatory dragon pseudo legendary".

I fail to see how adding extra content is annoying. Would you rather get nothing at all? People these days.

I mean I guess they're not needed but...so what? It is still neat to see different takes on older Pokemon, see how stats re-align, and it's not like the older forms aren't still useful (... debatable, I'm not sure anyone really uses normal Rotom and who knows how Kyurem will pan out)

People really seem obsessed with things having a "sheen" to them

edit: speaking of, seems the cover has leaked

I like the new horn

I'm assuming this is real because faking a corocoro cover would...certainly be daunting.

Im actually liking how they give the legends new forme. It's like adding new pokemon mid-game.

It will be pointless if Resolution Forme merely a cosmetic change. I think they might move all its Attack to SpA and Speed for lulz.

okay, so

orange/red, light blue, dark blue, white, green, yellow

and that's only his head

dude.

I don't like how Rest is now 3 turn sleep, I hope they switch it back to a fixed 2.

They never changed it; it's always been 2 straight turns of sleep. The only circumstance under which a Resting Pokémon could sleep for more than 2 turns is if it were to switch out then back in, which resets the sleep counter as of this generation.

On another note: I'm totally diggin' Keldeo's new multicolored headgear. I wonder if it'll gain "boots" like the other Musketeers have? :D

talk about the multicolor feather,
its like gaining from the other three members

ignoring the same fighting type,

Green -> Grass -> Virizion
Yellow -> Ground -> Terrakion
Silver -> Steel -> Cobalion

Oh hey, there's a silver feather. I thought it was another yellow one.

Now I find that kind of cute.

Maybe in this form Keldeo will have beastly Atk, SpA, Def and SpD and then lose some HP and speed, since it's drawing away from the other three?

Impossible. Interchangeable formes always share the same HP. Now, increasing Atk/Def/SDef while decreasing SAtk/Speed would work...

What the fuck. They're going way overboard with forms. I thought three trios of legendaries was overkill for one generation (although tbh most of them are quite useful so no real complaint there), but this form shit? I mean there's people complaining about rehashing designs, but rehashing the same Pokemon over and over again makes me a little ill. I only hope that they do not repeat the mistake of Platinum and block you from using the new forms over Wi-Fi.

Competitively, if stats are being redistributed, I'm only truly excited for the possibility of a defensive Tornadus and whatever they decide to do to Kyurem. Thundurus, Landorus, and Keldeo are all in a pretty good place imo. We'll have to see what these new forms have to offer, as well as any potential tutors.

might I remind you... Platinum did the same with a dickton of new forms. (7 new total in one game).

BW2 will have: Trio,Kyurem,Keldeo, same total of 7 new forms. They're more spread out this time :D

How can Game Freak be rehashing pokémon if they're using new concepts for the formes and/or had them meant that way from the beginning...?

And especially the "same Pokemon over and over again." Deoxys is the only Pokemon with forms that got additional forms later on and that was within the same generation.
Every other Pokemon with forms has only been used for that purpose once.

We haven't received new Pokemon in the second versions of a generation so I'm not sure why it's even relevant. I'll take new forms and "rehashing" in lieu of 0 new forms and 0 new Pokemon.

Plus, if the forms are story-related (which they might be), then it only adds an extra dimension to the games. Keldeo's resolution form probably has to do with this:

Bulbapedia Musketeer Page said:
The group has challenged humans in legends in order to protect other Pokémon from losing their homes to human expansion.

Keldeo might act as the arbitrator and I think it would be pretty cool for the story to at least touch upon the musketeers' story.

I'm not sure how the kami trio's new forms might be incorporated into the story, but I don't see how Keldeo's new form is as useless as some people would like to think. It clearly has some significance in either the anime or the games.

That's... kind of a weird-looking horn. It looks similar to those plumes the usual form has on the sides of his head. Looking at his old horn, it did look a little "naked." Now he has a large blue one to better match the other three's "elemental" horns.

Hope the rest of him looks a little more mature as well. I'm not digging the My Little Pony look.

Question:

Am I the only one seeing this?
Fixed, and man that new Keldeo forme really makes him look more mature and ready for battle.
In the movie trailers he looks all nervous and scared, maybe this form will fix that and make him more courageous and ready to face and defeat Kyurem!

From context clues we can piece together that this happens when Keldeo starts glowing with all that light we've seen in the trailers when he goes up against Kyurem, Shokotan cries out, and now he's "Resolution" keldeo.
So probably!

Oh god I'm so excited. Resolution Keldeo better work. I'm real excited to see what they do to each Pokemon to balance out their stats.

I actually like this thought of yours. Very true, it doesn't take a genius to think of 'oh maybe all these new forms will have a role in the storyline', but I myself didn't think of it at all, and that's why i was so uncaring about new formes, since i dont really care about formes at all, especially for pokes who are already strong. What I do care about though, is storyline, so if they indeed spice up the BW2 storyline (all the new formes announced) then i'd fully accept their introduction happily. If, though, they're only there 'to introduce new forms because what the heck why not', then I really don't give a crap..

Bw2 only has 6 new formes not 7. Just wanted to point that out.
there's also meloetta.

and i think the new forme thing, while they're probably all revealed now, is overdone already. i mean, the kyurem formes were a given, but the kami formes already are quite random ("okay?"), and when keldeo was revealed, a lot of people probably just felt "really - now THAT too?". when a new forme (or set of formes) is revealed every week, they lose their "specialness", or "magic" as was mentioned earlier. i (and i'm sure, several others have, too) really start wondering what's the point of having the original formes then, especially when they have such boring and rehashed designs such as the original kami.
just my two rather deliberately pessimistic centesimals on this matter.
