5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I didn't even see your post, but if you look at my edits...

I got a Tranquil with the right ivs, but everything else is wrong.
If the IVs are right, then you just need to advance to your target PID frame. Use the nature, gender, etc. to figure out what frame you're hitting currently.

Go to the main window of Reporter, set the method to Gen 5 PIDRNG, put in your seed, click Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame, then Generate.

What advances the IVrng, and what advances the pidrng? It looks like they have to advance by different methods, because if the iv rng gets advanced then I won't get the ivs, but I need to advance the pidrng.

IV frame is advanced by walking and depositing (withdrawing? I can't remember because I never advance the IV frame), but walking also advances the PID frame inconsistently so you should always stick to frame 1 if at all possible.

PID frame is advanced by weather, wandering NPCs, walking in an area with wild Pokémon, saving, and listening to a custom Chatter. Usually you're going to want to stick to Chatters.

NPCs most likely, especially for Sweet Scent (they keep advancing during the SS animation).

I see. What am I supposed to do about it? I planned ahead and found something on frame 62, so I did 3 advancements, but I ended up frame 60 instead. (Luckily it gave me a useable Jolly Liepard. Though I'm trying to get Minccino) I don't know what can do to know how much the npc's will advance the frame. Is it like breeding where I have to just guess, and keep trying?

I'm so confused, I'm using RNG reporter 9.95, on the time finder I have the "search for nearby shiny frames" box checked, I have seed with a shiny frame of 70 that shows up, but when I copy the seed over to the main window the shiny frame is nowhere to found. It's like this for all wild encounter seeds. I've triple checked my IDs and I had no problems getting a shiny Virizion. It just seems to be wild encounter that aren't working.

You just have to keep trying. If 3 advancements put you on 60, try again with 5 instead. If you really can't hit a frame (e.g. 10 advances puts you on 70 and 11 puts you on 72), then save the game so the NPCs start from different positions next time.

Can you post a screenshot?

Timer0 combined with npc's makes for a fearsome combo, but I got it, Thanks for your help. 5 down, 1 to go. Perfect Rotom'll be mine!

I had to find a new seed as an example as I had already erased my previous one. I'm still getting the same problem though.

Haha wow, I don't think I would have ever thought about that little variable. Thank you very much

I'm trying to capture a perfect Deerling. I'm using rng reporter 9.96 13. Please tell me where I messed up. I opened 5th generation time finder, chose standard seed, filled out the IVs, nature, gender, and checked synchrnonize frames only. The min/max frame is set to 1, and the game is Pokémon White. I clicked generate, found a resullt I liked. I set my date and time to match that, and opened the game when I needed, I didn't turn the c-gear on. Opened menu as fast as I could, and used sweet scent, a Deerling appeared with everything wrong. Figuring it was timer0's fault I tried again and got a different Deerling. Since my game only has two timer0's, and I'm certain the seconds are correct, what could be the problem?

In the 5th gen time finder on rng reporter 9.96. What do those two check boxes at the bottom say? All I can see is
(Check box here) Search for N(Check box here) Shiny Charm s

Could you post more information? seed/frame of seed you wanted. Your parameters. What route you're doing this on. etc.

Also that's a graphical bug in the bottom, just ignore them for now.

Some quick questions:

-For breeding, is there any way to incorporate Power items? I can't find a button for it. Or do you just leave whatever stat you're using it on at 0-31?

-If I want to RNG a tangela in front of the Giant Chasm, would the NPCs from Lacunosa town and Route 13 advance my frame? In general, is there a limit to how far NPCs keep moving?

-How much do roamers increase the frame by? I still have my Tornadus loose, and empty cave encounters start 2 frames ahead. I read that it advances by one, though. Does Sweet Scent advance it by one too?

Power Items aren't supported, don't use them.

You should be safe there, NPCs generally don't have an effect if they're on a different route.

Not sure about your last question, unless you're using Chatot pitches in which case you need to stop a frame earlier for that.

I seem to be having the biggest problem trying to hit my seed right now.

Going for shiny Bold ability 1 Solosis via egg. I was originally having problems with it so I did parameters again and figured out that my timer0 is always C7C with keypresses, and my original aim was C7D. Search again for the same thing with C7C, and put in those dates. Yet every time I start the game, open the menu, and start my Chatters. I never get the Chatter pattern in there. I'm assuming my starting frame (47) has shifted, but in that range where the Gen V Breeding Guide says it would usually be, I get no pattern. After all this, I decided to see what I was getting via searching for DS parameters via Victory Road, and I got the right seed a few times in a row. Yet I never seem to hit it at the daycare.

I've also done my chatters, then Victory Road, but the IVs never match up with anything near the beginning. I've also done immediately collecting the egg, but the first match I got for the egg was on frame 104. Am I doing anything wrong here?

Is there a reason you are using Chatot pitches instead of just hatching an egg without advancing the PID frame and matching the gender/nature/characteristic to a PID frame? I have always used the latter method and have never had a problem with egg RNG.

If you switched your Timer0, you will need to search for a new date/button combination. It will not be the same as it was with C7D.

I tried that. Frame 104 seems too high for a shifted starting frame though. I could always try again, though.

Already mentioned that I did that in my first post.

EDIT: Did it again and got a Male Bold ability 1 Solosis, which first shows up on frame 103. Maybe it is that high?

Question:

Got a Black for real cheap today, want to catch a perfect Tornadus.

Unfortunately the guy triggered it.

Does the synching through the E4 trick like in HG/SS still work?

You can RNG shininess, but not the IVs. Probably be better to just start a new game.

Well, apparently I (might be able to) blame RNG Reporter on this one. The seed I got when I hit C7C wasn't even the one that RNG Reporter said it would be. Tried another seed and Chatter patterns matched RNG Reporter's output.
