Do you have any advice for people that are looking to contribute but haven't yet? C&C is a daunting place, it took me a long time before I felt I was ready to help out there outside of quality control.
To take some time to read at least a few of the analyses that we have onsite now. If something like that is what they would like to write as well, they should then take some time to either lurk in C&C to get a feel for the processes that go on there (how QC works and then how GP works). They should also take some time to look over the Grammar Standards thread; what impresses me most about good new contributors is that GP has relatively little to correct. It's always a pain when GP has to correct a lot of minor mistakes that could have been easily avoided.
If English isn't your first language, but would still like to contribute an analysis, I'd strongly strongly encourage you to go in on a co-op analysis with someone who's first language is English and co-author it with them.
If you're ever unsure of something within C&C, avoid making a post in one of the analysis threads. Instead, get in contact with one of the moderators or post in the SQSA thread. We're all more than willing to answer any questions you have!
If you could give one piece of advice to someone new at smogon what would it be?
Don't pretend to know something when you really know nothing at all.
Who do you believe is the most underappreciated user on the site?
It's a tie between Kaphotics and Bond697.
They've both done so much for this site research-wise, and they're both always willing to help out with any questions regarding research in #smogonwifi. If it were possible to hand out Gold Researcher badges at this point, I think it'd definitely go to these two.
P.S. I don't even hang out in Wi-Fi and rarely do anything with that part of the site. It's just extremely obvious to me that there really isn't enough that we could give them to show how much we appreciate what they do for the site.

What is your opinion on the meta as it is now? Particularly Gothitelle
It's crazy, that's for sure. Whether Gothitelle is broken or not is to be decided by the Council. Granted, I haven't tried playing stall with Goth in the tier, so that could severely skew my current opinion on her, but at the moment I'm leaning towards her just making offense the dominant playstyle and not broken. I honestly just view her as another Dugtrio and play around her the same way I would duggy and I haven't had any major problems with her offense team-wise.
What is your favourite RU metagame? I loved the Krook meta
Round 0. As broken and crazy as the meta was, it was hilariously awesome at the same time. Team DURANT was the shit (it legitimately used Probopass), and people coming up with new ways to try and counter Yanmega and Venomoth was super cool.
What is your favourite BW metagame other than RU? Favourite metagame overall?
Favorite BW metagame besides RU is NU. I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like, but the crazy offensive nature of the tier is fun.
Favorite metagame overall, as cliche as it may be at this point, is DPP UU. I don't think any meta will ever come as close to how fun DPP UU was. It also gives me major nostalgia when I play lol. I'm super duper rusty though, and keep getting knocked out in R1 of tourneys that have DPP UU (it doesn't help that I've had to recreate my teams from memory, and can't remember the little details that made them work as well as they used to), but I still enjoy playing.

Do you believe sexuality is a scale rather than a simple gay/straight/bi thing?

No, the scale theory is kind of dumb to be frank. Either you're gay, straight, or bi. I'm just as gay as the flamers and gay guys that are super into fashion or have the fake lisp, we just have different personalities. I do believe that bisexuality is real though, as well as pansexuailty and the like. You're attracted to who you're attracted to, nothing's really going to change that.
Why are some people homosexual from a scientific point of view?
I've actually done some research regarding this, and wrote a paper on one of the leading theories for a Psych class I had. Here's an excerpt from that paper:
"To explain this incidence, extensive research has taken place in the development of the fetus in the womb, and the effects that chemicals, such as testosterone, have on the fetus. One of the more promising explanations deals with the hormones chorionic gonadotropin or CG, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone or DHT, and estradiol, (Ellis & Ames, 1987). CG begins to have an influence on the fetus almost immediately after conception. CG is responsible for “switching on” the cells that form the gonadal tissue that produce testosterone. After testosterone has begun to be produced in males, it is then synthesized into DHT, which is responsible for masculinizing the genitalia. However, testosterone also synthesizes into estradiol, which has been found to be the organizer and activator of sexual behavior in mammals, (Ellis & Ames, 1987). Homosexuality could then be explained to be an effect of an over-production of testosterone, causing an abnormal level of estradiol. This abnormal level of estradiol could then in turn cause a shift in the fetus' sexual orientation or sexual identity."
"To show that testosterone is the dominant factor in determining homosexuality, experiments have been done on pregnant rhesus monkeys. The mothers are injected with high levels of testosterone when their fetus' are in the sexual organization stage (the third and fourth months in humans), inverting the sexual orientation of the female offspring. Their change in orientation could be observed by their highly masculine traits, (Ellis and Ames, 1987). This experiment showed that it was the mother's high levels of a hormone that had an adverse effect on the female fetus, causing homosexual behavior after puberty. For male fetuses, it has been shown in experiments on pregnant rats that a substantial increase in the influence of antiandrogens, such as Depo-Provera and flutamide. This influence altered the synthesis of androgens and receptor sites, and caused the rats to display homosexual behavior, (Ellis & Ames, 1987)."
Obviously experiments like this cannot be conducted on humans, but it is the most promising explanation that we I have I feel for describing homosexuality in humans!

The stigma is completely asinine. Kids are extremely malleable and open about any kind of living situation when they're young. They don't have a set or innate belief about what a family should be, they just accept the family that life gives them. We've seen kids grow up in homosexual homes, in broken homes, in divorced homes, and in single parent homes. The kids almost always turn out just fine.
Yes, I would definitely like to adopt a child or children later in life.

- If you could force one pokemon down to RU, what would it be, Why would you want it to drop?
Blastoise. What RU needs is a spinner that's not completely suckish in one aspect or another. Blastoise is just all around a great Pokemon, and one that I feel would give stall a boost they need to succeed.
- Is there an NU or RU pokemon you feel deserves way more usage than its currently getting? What niche does it have?
Scolipede definitely doesn't get enough love. People usually defer to Accelgor for an offensive Spiker, but Scolipede's ability to set up a sweep with Swords Dance is so delicious when combined with its awesome movepool and insane Speed.
- Whats the most gimmicky set you have used in your time on smogon, did it work? If not, why didnt it function?
Lead Shuckle in DPP UU is by far the most gimmicky set I used.

- What is it like being a super moderator? how do you deal with having that power, another related question, what is it like to lead RU?
Being a super moderator is cool because what I say actually holds some weight in discussions in IS and senior staff. Before it felt like my opinions would just kind of be glossed over.
Dealing with the power of being a smod is really no different than being a mod, smods just get to see more of the forums and give input in senior staff. Now, if I had the power to badge people and move forums, then I'd give you a succinct answer on what it's like holding a lot of power.
Leading RU is something I'm proud of because I believe we're at a state to where we're prepared for anything to hit the tier, even stuff like Gothitelle. It's more stressful at times than I'd like, luckily I've never had to make any big decisions by myself, I've always had a co-leader in Nails, Texas, and SV to turn to when I wasn't completely sure about something. If I was leading it solely by myself I'm p. sure I would have given up the position by now.

I hate it, to be quite honest. I hate limiting what people can say, and ultimately whatever you say is probably going to hurt somebody, but saying stuff is "so gay" is something that really needs to just get out of our system.

@Oglemi ; Are you regularly treated differently/excluded because of your sexuality?
If I'm ever treated differently, it's because the person is really anti-gay. In that situation, I tend to avoid them anyway, because no matter what I say isn't going to change their opinion. I can show them that not all gay guys are completely fairy or annoying or what have you, which I think is something a lot of them aren't prepared for.
Luckily, I've come along at the right time as to not be excluded from anything because of my sexuality.

Why did you first join Smogon?
I first joined the forums on Smogon because C&C used to post this regular feature on the News Feed entitled "Recently in C&C." I'd always find mistakes in the analyses that had just been uploaded (usually the ones written by Heysup), so I ended up joining so that I could point out the mistakes in the Small Changes thread.
I also had played on the simulator Shoddy Battle way before I actually joined the forums.
What got you into Pokemon?
I've been into Pokemon for as long as I can remember. I think one of my friends brought a Gameboy to school one day in like Kindergarten or 1st grade with Pokemon on it, and I was hooked. Watching the anime on Cartoon Network was just the icing on the cake.
There was a large break between ADV and DP where I didn't play at all, but when PBR came out I got back into it again by making Youtube videos.

Story time. I love Gardevoir, it's to be sure. However, she's only in my top 10, if even. The reason I had a Gardevoir avatar for the longest time was because I simply made a request in Fate's thread to make me an avvy of a Sue Sylvester-esque Pokemon, and he decided to use Gardevoir. Gardsue was an awesome avvy to be sure, which started to get people to associate me with Gardevoir. I then later asked Fate to make me an avvy with a Pokemon as Lady Gaga. He again just chose to use Gardevoir. So, I've been associated with her ever since!
3. Do yourself staying on Smogon for a few more years? What about IRC?
This is a tough one because I really just don't know how busy I'm going to be in the future, and how much time I'll have to spend on Smogon. I'll definitely make it a goal of mine to hop onto IRC every now and again though, even after I've left Smogon far behind. It's so hard to just completely cut the cord from this site ;-;
4. Arceus descends from the heavens and offers to make you a PRO in ONE Pokemon tier (like the best player in said tier). Which would you choose?
I'd definitely choose DPP UU, just because it was such a fun meta and a lot of the best players on the site are very proficient in DPP UU, so I could say that I'm better than a lot of them in at least one tier.
5. Do you have fond memories of DPP UU? Remember good ole days of posting in the NP UU megathread? It's like we were a goddamn family.
Yeah, DPP UU was definitely my starting place and a time that I'll never forget. The people who played DPP UU were the best, and I wish a lot of them were still around. I especially miss Thund91, I loved playing his crazy-ass teams on the ladder, particularly his Lopunny fetish. Also, I loved the time that everyone and their mother was laddering with Magcargo... good times! lol
6. Kind of a personal question, and don't really overthink this one; if you could choose a sexual orientation which would you pick?

Uggggg, this is so hard because there have been far too many fun games.
Tales of Symphonia I think takes the cake though for my favorite non-Pokemon game. It was just so different from anything I had played before then, and it was quite the adventure. I've played the game so many times (completionist), and enjoyed going through it each time. It's been a while now though since I've played again.

I've partaken in a couple illegal things (I've stolen stuff from a store once), but I haven't been caught. I've been super careful while in college though, idk if I've done really anything illegal while in Madison (I haven't been out drinking). You can still be a teacher if you have done anything illegal, because nearly everybody has done something illegal at one point or another. I just happen to have a completely spotless record and don't intend on changing that anytime soon.

- What is your opinion of the current RU Metagame ? Back in BW1, I used to picture it as a metagame where Stall was dominant and in fact the best playstyle thanks to a lot of great wall and more important, a large amount of good Ghost type (while the Spinner were pretty meh).
The current RU meta is pretty crazy, and offense is definitely dominant. I actually really like it atm, though if you're trying to use stall I can maybe see where complaints about Gothitelle are coming from.
Stall was definitely dominant at the tail end of BW1, however before then, offense was still dominant at least up until Honchkrow and Sharpedo moved on up to UU. There was a really good balance until those two (and Gligar and Claydol) left.
- What do you think of the changes brought by BW 2 (and the tier shift) to RU ? I tend to think Stall is now harder thanks to Nidoqueen and Moltres being way more dangerous than before.
Stall has definitely taken a hit, but I think stall was still usable with the changes BW2 brought. Overall I really liked the changes BW2 brought with it. With Gothitelle in the tier now, it might be a different story completely though.
- What is your opinion of the RU Community and the RU Player Base ? I don't want to be rude or condescending at all but there was no RU dedicaced player in the last RU Tournament and I remember some player kinda raging because of that. I guess Omicron winning the Yin-Yang is pretty cool since a RU dedicaced player (finally ?) won a Tournament featuring standard metagame games.
The RU player base is a strong one, to be sure. The people who play are very committed, and great battlers in their own right. It's just too bad that none of the regulars were able to make it to the finals of the last RU tourney (I know a couple got haxxed out, but oh well).
We'll definitely see where the dedicated RU playerbase stands with the RU Open. Right now a lot of the more dedicated players are through to the third round, so we'll see how it goes.
I enjoy seeing people who don't play RU do well in the tourneys though. It shows that RU is a relatively easy meta to pick up, and a fun one at that.
