Wiki Article

So after about eight years, Capcom finally pulls its act together and announces that they're going to be releasing AA5 all around the world. Pulling the thread for that long pretty much guaranteed that fans would be extremely hyped about this, and I suppose I am one of them - with good reason too. Apollo Justice was the unofficial sequel to Trials and Tribulations, and as such, received a lot of criticism from the fanbase. Everyone wanted to see their favorite attorney making the objections, not some punk with bunny ear hair. Personally I enjoyed Apollo Justice, but it left me with a gaping hole of wanting more out of Phoenix Wright. It made me want to see him back in action, and as such, when I heard about the fact that this was becoming a reality...well you can just guess how excited I am.

Anyways, now to jump on the hype train and show you what's in store for the next installment of Ace Attorney 5:

Apparently Phoenix has a new assistant.

A Project Lead discusses a few things about the plot and characters.

Per the Youtube video, it looks like Phoenix has a few new tools up his sleeve. The music, per the second article discusses that it'll all be orchestrated music, so no more of the 16-64 bit stuff. And finally where the heck is Maya/Pearl/Iris/anyothergivencharacter originally in the franchise. One familiar face you will notice, is someone who looks like Winston Payne in the Youtube video. Apparently that's his brother, who is a lot more aggressive and villainous. The final thing of note is that Shu Takumi, the creator of the AA franchise is not directly involved in the creation of this game. He's busy right now with Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, which has also been confirmed for release only in Japan, thus far...(screw you Capcom)

So other than a few weird things tossed in here and there, I think there's a lot to look forward to in this game.

Yes. Yes. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES.

Excitement is an understatement. Apollo Justice was fun, but the Mason System was complete nonsense, and its characters just weren't as endearing. Takumi not being involved is slightly worrying, but I have faith.

I'm kind of amused at how late this thread is :P But yeah, HYPE! Frankly, I am worried about where this game is going to go since the stuff that's been revealed so far all seems incredibly ham-fisted and "let's retcon the stuff people didn't like about Apollo Justice", but hopefully Yamazaki is as good at being true enough to the original series as he was at making a cool spinoff series. (And yeah, Shu Takumi is too tied up in that OTHER game to take the main writing role for this game.)

Glad to see that Capcom decided to make another Ace Attorney series featuring Phoenix Wright seeing how Trials and Tribulations looked as if it was the end for him.

Hopefully, it'll be good and enjoyable and most of the other releases! ^^

cape, I'm not necessarily late, so much so I'm putting it out there that Japan isn't the only country getting AA5. Unless you were some future reading genius, nobody could say for certain that Capcom was going to just make it for Japan only like it did for AAI2.

This is only going to make me look like a dick, but it's been over two weeks since anyone officially confirmed localization plans for both North America and Europe. I'm not sure about Australia and that's what you may have meant, but I just thought my earlier comment should be clarified.

And while I'm here: Xaqwais, they've been giving that non-answer so many times since they confirmed no localization was planned :( Obviously, they don't want to close the door all the way, since technically it's not like they never want to do it ever.

Yeah, but the fact that its still beings spewed gives me some sort of inkling of hope. I just want to believe okay :<
