List with the most used Pokemon in the new metagame, based in the RTM Subforums

Dovetails pretty nicely with my [thread=21832]metagame analysis[/thread]. Keep in mind, however, that this is only what's showing up on the RMTs -- many of us do not post our teams for rating.

Hi guys. I was bored and then, I decided to enter in the subforum of RMT, and make a list of all the Pokemon that were in the team of the trainers.

This was a great post - I think it's really representative of the kind of metagame people are building.

But how did you get these numbers, by the way? Did you do a thread search, and count the number of returns?

I´ve done the list seeing almost all the teams rated in the 60 pages of the RMT. There were a lot of teams, so I can have commited some mistakes, but I think I´ve made the list the most accuraty possible.

By the way, has anyone been surprised by the high number of Milotics and by the enormous number of Skarmorys?

Of course, it doesn't suprise me that Rhyperior is up there.
I mean, he has recieved a lot of hype for his sky high attack stats, and solid rock ability. And what can I say? I use him too.

WOW, so you actually went through tons and tons of RMTs and just tallied them up??

Mucho props, friend!

I wouldn't be suprised to see some more playtesting Scarf Blaziken for fun because it can suprise people and can hit hard enough. (Has a little trouble switching in though) After my thread I would think there would be some more Blaziken usage. (maybe my thread is the only reason it has that many in the first place...)

Will you update this list sometime in the future?

People probably use Skarmory and Milotic since they're "Old Reliables", and Cynthia's Milotic is a pain to kill (my Level 100 Palkia still can't OHKO Milotic with Spacial Rend; I bring Giratina as a failsafe if Milotic uses Mirror Coat).

Nice job, this must have taken you a while. While I'm not surprised Blissey's on top, I don't like it. That stupid pink blob sucks. I hate it more than anything else in the metagame.

Blissey being the most popular was no surprise. She's almost a staple for teams these days. Really, there's no big surprise in the high ones. can't wait till the metagame becomes more developed, though. ^_^

SEMI OFF TOPIC: I salute the one person who uses Sudowoodo. He's my favorite Pokemon, and I want my Rock/Grass Sudowoodo evolution in the 5th gen! :)

ON TOPIC: Have you tried out a Lickilicky? With Knock Off and Amnesia, it can be a viable special tank.

At first I thought 248 was Blissey's Pokedex number, not the number of RMTs it was in XD

Everyone knows that 248 is Tyranitar. =D

Dusknoir really surprised me on this list. What you have to remember though, is that many players don't post their teams at all and RMT's are usually just team ideas. There are some major changes by the time the team is finished. Overall, this list still represents the metagame pretty well.

Good Job I was trying to figure way of doing the same thing with turn it into tier thread

I am not that surprised at the list.

- I knew from looking around at teams that Gyrados was either 1 or 2 use.The reason you dont see Electivire with more gyrados. Is that gyra work well with heatran and Metagross too.Gyra works in really cool chains like Gyra, Weezing, Meta or Gyra,Heatran, Tangrowth and Gyra,Pert,Electivire.Gyra is team player

-Weavile and T-tar keep the use Azelf and other non bulky psychics down, but i am little surprise of use Gengar.I will to guess his will go down alot too.

-The fanboys of Umbreon,Dragonite,Lucario keep them way popular than should be.They will drop in use too.

In all of the warstories he was involved in, Rhyperior received rather poor performance. And he was hyped up so much

So to say, most of these teams are good on paper, but when you actually test them they aren't as good as you thought they would be. That's why these are mostly team ideas, not actual teams, so this list is rather misleading

Although teams may change, the list is still accurate in terms of what Pokemon you'll likely face (some may switch out for more Standard Pokemon, or just give the same Pokemon different movesets).

As for Rhyperior, the players may have just mispredicted with him (similar to Garchomp). That, and they're often fighting Jibaku, who calls it "RhyINFERIOR". That doesn't change the fact that he's a good Pokemon, but it means you can't absorb Special attacks as readily as some people would have you believe.

My Wi-Fi battles showed Gyarados is widely used, and most of the times, without the Electivire/Gyarados combo. So does this thread.

Something worthy saying is that most Weaviles I've battled used Night Slash instead of Pursuit. This is at least curious since Pursuit is the standard and a lot of people post "How do I get IP + Pursuit?" thread.

Anyway, nice job.

Pursuit is sorta a waste of moveslot, as most will outpredict you and not switch out. Thus, you outpredict them and use Night Slash, which guarentees an automatic KO

Unless they think you have night slash ,and they run away.In which case pursuit is better.

However seeing that most all of the Weaviles bred have Pursuit, they will think that staying in is a better option, unless they are noobs who don't know a thing about Weavile or predicting

Hmm, I'm 1/4 of the Ninetales users on RMT...*shrug*

Man, I'm not shocked at all about Blissey being the most common. I hate little pink puffball sooooo badly....

Yay! I found a typo (drpion instead of drapion). I'm most suprised at the appearances of frosslass and tentacruel. I'm also pleasantly suprised at the 16 yanmega. Vaporeon also scored higher than I expected.
Edit: Yay! Another typo (Bronzorg instead of Bronzong)! (I'm weird like that)

a level 49 Azumarill is what killed Cynthia's Milotic and Garchomp in my case XD it took forever to kill that Milotic using nothing but Double-Edges.
