Man...literally finished Rayman Origins minutes ago...that game is amazing. Ubisoft, why can't you push the release date of Legends to be sooner?
th

Please?

Well Outlaw if you squint real hard you'll notice that you could be watching New Super Mario Bros U on a giant television screen instead of on 1/4 of youtube screen, and that even with the side-by-side U obviously has vastly better graphics. It's also the better game by all accounts, being called a "perfect blend of Mario 3 and World" which I am super stoked about even though I haven't cared for the New Super Mario series so far.

You might as well have called Four Swords Adventures a port of LttP Four Swords.

I'm not, nor may I ever, be interested in the WiiU unless Battle Revolution 2 is released for it. The dual-screen gameplay thing would benefit that game so much.

But it's the same graphics. The two are virtually indistinguishable.

And I probably did back in the day.

No it's not. Get your eyes checked. While you're at it, look up the definition of "port."

same gRAFX!!!

Here is my advice: Give Nintendo a chance with the Wii U. We all made fun of Apple when the first iPad when it was released for its name and calling it a giant iPod touch. You guys will probably still do the same 2.5 years later regardless or not the iPad is the most popular tablet in the world, but that's another discussion entirely :P.

Point is the Wii U has potential; give it time.

Regardless if NSMB U is good, it sure doesn't scream "NEXT GEN!" or show off what the console can do. Why would Nintendo use "the same thing as the other NSMB games but with better graphics, acorns, and more levels" as the selling point of a new console?

I was hoping for something that would really surprise me, but surprises in Nintendo games seem to have died years ago. I'll wait until Pikmin 3 or SSB comes out.

I don't think the WiiU is very good but christ you're retarded.

In any case, I grabbed one at launch because I had it pre-ordered. Still have it sealed and can't justify keeping it so will probably return it in the coming days and purchase it when something I want is released (Zelda, Metroid, Smash, Pokemon... anything). If anyone is getting this for third party support, I'd rethink that...

I'd ask that you refrain from insulting other users, it's against the forum's rules. Regardless, I can't take any personal attacks seriously from a person who pre-ordered the WiiU

Question- What games are good on Wii U? I was thinking about getting Tekken, NSMB:U and/or ZombiU, are these good? Any others?

EDIT: Getting Tekken and ZombiU, waiting until Spring to get Pikmin 3 & NSMB:U

I would say don't buy any game that isn't already available on another console. (Tekken etc, see my previous posts itt for the reasons why).

Also I'm hoping this is real! My current Wii is pretty beat up (6 years old) and I would love a new one. Obviously it would lack bc, but it's still neat. Then again it would add confusion to most people trying to buy "the new wii" for their kids.

Someone gave me a second edition wii as a gift and all it did was make me realize how worthless the wii on its own was compared to anything that used a gamecube controller.

NSMB:U and ZombiU have gotten the highest order of praise. You may consider getting the new Tekken on Wii U if only because it features a Nintendo mode that uses Mario powerups. Darksiders II and Batman:Arkham City have received good reviews, too. However, if you can hang on until early next year, Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends are coming. Those may just end up topping everything else on this list.

Regarding the YouTube thing:

Is it possible to use the gamepad-controller for internet browsing / watching YT vids without turning on the console? That would make the WiiU significantly more attractive for me, seeing as how I've always wanted to be able to watch Youtube vids on the toilet without resorting to balancing my laptop on my legs.

I don't usually like games that have minigames like Mario Party or Wii Sports, but I played Nintendoland at a friend's the other day and I must admit I was impressed at how fun some of the minigames can be if you have more than 2 people. We played the mario hide and seek game, and let me tell you: juking people is a heck of a lot of fun.

^Wow, never expected to hear that much praise for Nintendo Land, though it is getting good reviews.

The console has to be turned on, but you can watch videos on the gamepad exclusively.

You do know a variety of cheap (or even quality 7" tablets if you don't like Chinese rubbish tablets) or smartphones would will your needs over dragging a laptop into the bathroom...

Alright...how about the new advertising tactics?
Personally, I was hoping for "Wii would like to play with U" but this is...interesting. All of the ads use that "U-Box" approach, too.
Nintendo Land
NSMBU
Compared to this stroke of genius.
Needless to say, Wii U adds pale in comparison.

The Wii is shit and can't compete with Xbox 360 or PS3 even though it came out before them but that's just Nintendo thinking they're at an advantage by releasing a console early. So even if the Wii U can "meet" the Xbox 360 or PS3 (it definitely can't surpass them in any way) it will be another shitty, overpriced, glorified piece of family-friendly plastic and will be destroyed by the next generation Playstation and Xbox. Mario sucks, the new controller is a terrible idea, etcetera there is nothing good about the Wii U. Hopefully this time the worldwide dumbass consumers aren't uninformed enough to make Nintendo think that they've made a good console

Say what...

Went and pushed my way through a group of people during Black Friday to give the wii U a playtest. The thing is sooo slow on start up but after a bit it operates pretty much on par with other platforms. Will I be forking over the cash for one? No, I'm going to wait a bit for the price to drop and for a few more games to come out that interest me. If I bought the Wii U now my game collection would be really small :(

I'm probably just going to get NSMBU, Scribblenauts:Unlimited, and hopefully the Wonderful 101(If its out) Early next year, Pikmin 3 and Rayman:Legends will land and that will be sweet.

wait a bit for the price to drop
Whether or not it continues to sell out and sell very well (as it has been) will be the factor that determines if the price drops. So far, I wouldn't expect one anytime soon.
