A few questions:

1. Does Fling count as a Dark Type attack regardless of the thrown item?

2. Will technician boost Fling if the base power from the item is low enough?

I checked the research thread, but didn't see what I was looking for.

Simply I just trained up my first EV trained pokemon: a Porygon-Z. I used my evolution items and a couple unique TMs and was feeling pretty good about the pokemon. But then I stumbled across an IV calculator (I think Serebiis) and if I calculated it correctly it came out with some pretty horrible IVs (0 in speed!). So basically is it worth IV training my pokemon (it looks very complicated and time-consuming), do I not stand a chance in competitive play without great IVs?

INCREDIBLY important if you want to play competitively. The best way to go about it would be to mass produce eggs, or, if you're lucky and/or have something good to trade get your specified Pokemon with good IV's off of a trade.
 
What do moves like Agility and Swords Dance do? As in what does +2 stages mean in the from of numbers. Do you get 100 in the stat for each level? Raised by a percentage? Or what?

Raised by a percentage. Each stage is a +50% stat bonus.

I wonder if CM Luc should be faster than Max Speed Adamant Hera and aim to be at least 270 speed?

Or when Timid Lucario, be at least 300 speed to beat max speed Adamant/Modest Mence, Adamant Slaking?

This is all I can think of right now.
 
Yes, with Max speed Lucario reaches 279 IIRC. So yes, it will out run Hera. But Lucario can't OHKO Hera with it's Dragon Pulse or it's Aura Sphere, so it shouldn't be staying in on it.

Max Speed. How about HP?
 
Is that an extra 50% of the base speed each level, or it's current level when the move it used. As in a 100 speed pokemon who used Agility once then have 200 speed or 225?

Rock smash from adamant gyarados 252 attack on a Weavile with no defensive properties. How much damage, roughly?

I have a legit Jirachi that I transfered, but I think it's hacked. Mine from the Colo Bonus Disk on Emerald said met in a fateful encounter, and in Diamond it says it's from Hoenn (or whatever region I tranfered from).

If it says distant land, then I'd say it's hacked.

The Trainer ID is correct, though.
 
should i give my arcanine an adamant or jolly nature? he's gonna have maxed speed and atk EVs, but is there anything that a jolly nature would let him outspeed? he's running extremespeed, but is that enough to give him an adamant nature? he's also running a choice band btw
 
If I have a Pokemon with Pokerus that battles a Starly (1 HP EV) but my Pokemon is holding the Power Item for Defense.

Would I get
2 Hp from the Starly (1(Starly) * 2 (Pokerus))
8 Defense from the Power Item (4(Power Item) * (Pokerus))

It will sometimes change traits while evolving, but only if Pal Parked. Trace on Porygon2 is the equivalent of Adapability on PoryZ. If you caught the Porygon in D/P, and it had Trace, it would always be Adaptability, but with Pal Park it's random.

2. I don't know. It needs to be tested.

sanjay confirmed that that was correct one post above yours. (I don't know whether he is right or not though, as you have conflicting answers)
 
You'd get 2 Evs in Speed (Starlies give Speed). Power items do not work if the pokemon does not give out their corresponding Evs.
 
Yeah, that's what I meant Bidoof. It is supposed to give an extra 4 EVs into whatever stat that Item boosts so even if you go against a HP Bidoof if you have the Bracer, it would give you 4 EVs in your Attack stat as well.
