Margaret (sp?) Thatcher died

It seems that none of the people who responded to me have actually read Thatcher's policy or know anything about the Britain of her contemporaries, by their own admission lol. Random hate haha

Wow, really? This thread sickens me. You might not necessarily agree with her policies, but saying "good riddance" when someone dies? The Hitler comparison is really stupid too. Hitler killed millions of people. Did Thatcher? Well, if she did, I'm sure I'd have known about it.

It's not like Thatcher was objectively evil like Hitler or Stalin were. You don't have to glorify her or anything, or even be saddened by her death, but saying "good riddance" to her death just makes you look like an asshole.

Peace out.

How perfect is that? :D
Oh BBC, I love you for your incompetence.

No shit. That's readily fucking apparent man.

The way you said it sounded like you were saying that Margaret Thatcher was popular and it was only a select few that disliked her. Simple misinterpretation, don't get so angry about it man.

Objectively good hahahaha. Can't remember the last time the death of a politician actually made people party in the fucking street.

The difference is even though there are people in Iraq that still support Saddam's former regime, they are bombing up the streets of Baghdad lol. I don't expect any 10 year wars in London any time soon. I don't know much about Thatcher other than the cover up in the Hillsborough disaster and that she allowed for partial Irish control of Northern Ireland or something like that (which I can imagine was an absolutely terrible decision).

It was an advisory role in the governance of Northern Ireland. Dunno why you think it was a terrible decision tbh.

I am not sad that Thatcher died because of what she did to political prisoners in Northern Ireland (branded them criminals and not political prisoners, thus removing their prisoner of war status). Putting a broadcast ban on one of Ireland's largest political parties because she was of the opinion that they were terrorists was pretty fucked up too. A few of my relations were imprisoned politically during her time in office so I am far from a fan.

Another bitch bites the dust. I'm as apathetic to her death as she is to apartheid.

It seems that none of the people who responded to me have actually read Thatcher's policy or know anything about the Britain of her contemporaries, by their own admission lol. Random hate haha

Haha apartheid support, deterioration of social progression movements, and a bunch other shit she did to fuck up people's lives. Totes random.

Now, I agree that it's sickening in principle to find joy in the death of a person. Yet, if you're viewing Thatcher as a person, then you have to view everyone else as a person, and Hitler and Stalin were people, even if he caused millions of people to die. You don't just cease to become a person and become "objectively evil" (whatever that means). Where do you draw the line?

The fact is, when people find joy in her death, they're really looking at the death of a symbol of something that they hated. That's all.

lol holy FUCK i'm not going to respond to everything but clearly hitler can never be used as an example again because (joker voice) you bring in one little hitler, and Everyone Just Loses Their Minds!

Rest in peace one of the only British PMs I know. Hopefully ours learns the lessons taught by you and does a thing, as opposed to not giving a shit.

Hardass =/= Evil

Love her or hate her, she singlehandedly turned British Economy from a Buick to a Ferrarri. Otherwise today instead of Greece it would have been the UK.

Policy Paralysis while people have a nice fireplace argument about right and liberties.

I'm not saying rights are not important, they are infact a fundamental base of any good democracy. But having a silver spoon up your ass, just because you happen have voting rights isn't right either. Inaction is far more dangerous than rubbing some people raw.
