I own a Wii, and I will NOT be getting this game. IMO this is a waste of 50 bucks.
Seeing your Pokemon is 3D on a TV is a complete waste of money. I think this game was for all those people that buy any game that has "Pokemon" on it. They will enjoy it.
I wouldn't buy this game even if I had a Wii. I try to avoid overtly negative posts, but I am so sick and tired of Nintendo releasing these terrible excuses for games!
This game is nothing more than a battle simulator. The previous games employed shoddy Story modes, but this game doesn't even have that. All it is is a series of tournaments that you play through. As the actual game has nothing more than rental Pokemon, and you can't level up, the game is useless with without D/P. IMO, it can't even be considered a game. It actually has LESS options than any other console Pokemon game before it. No minigames or anything.
Wi-Fi is a joke. Random Wi-Fi battles are the only impetus I've seen so far for buying the game, and you can't even have 6 vs. 6? All things considered, that is a slap in the face. Even you would rather have 4 vs. 4 or 3 vs. 3, it should at least be an option-the main option.
Some of the character models actually look good, in particular the 4th generation Pokemon that Nintendo was forced to make new models for. On the other hand, some were obviously gleaned from the Gamecube games which is inexcusable given the games potential. The more attention I pay to this game, the less likely it seems that Gamefreak had anything to do with it.
The "special" Pokemon are anything but. No one is particularly impressed by a Hardy Pikachu, and the other two, as well as their items, are readily available in D/P, even if you have to search for while.
Even if you absolutely hated Colosseum and XD, both the story mode and the miscellaneous battles, at least the games were acceptable as a utility: You could store Pokemon there. Thanks to the new system of "copying" Pokemon, you can't even do that!
Even if it is true that this was the best Nintendo could come up with just a few months after the D/P release, it's also true that Nintendo is notorious for repeatedly delaying the launch dates of their games, in order to ensure a certain caliber of quality. What happened here?!
The simple facts of the matter are:
Fact 1: Console Pokemon games are low quality in almost every way.
Fact 2: Nintendo could make actually make decent console Pokemon games if they wanted to.
Fact 3: Nintendo is acutely aware of Facts 1 & 2.
Fact 4: Nintendo will not change their ways until people stop buying these console games, and press for change!
