Serebii just updated. Looks like Karos Pokedex will be divided into three sections: Coastal Karos, Mountain Karos and Central Karos

I'm surprised they included the "seen" numbers. 77 central, 51 coastal, 6 mountain
I, for one, am hoping that all those Coastal numbers are different from Central and that we're finally getting a varied amount of pokemon in the water

I guess I would be speculating if I said that the total of "seen" numbers equals the amount of new pokemon/regional pokedex. Although it seems to be a plausible number. (134)

Anyway, this reminds me of the way the Pokedex was organized in FRLG.

I'm sure that's not the full dex (if only because a whopping !!!SIX!!! mountain Pokemon seems a BIT OFF) otherwise it'd be the smallest Pokedex in any of the games.

So we have a coastal area, which probably means a decent amount of water, and a mountainous area? Anything but Mt. Coronet 2.0, please. Also loving that we can walk diagonally now, just waiting to hear more about those roller skates..

I'm loving the panda and goat designs. Seriously cool. I'm interested in the goat riding mechanic. Will it only apply quadrupeds, or even only the goat? Can I ride my Dodrio? Does the Pokemon require a set of horns identical to handlebars? This brings up so many questions! I'm eager to learn more.

Well, if we can assume there will be significantly more mountain pokemon than 6, I'd venture to guess there will be a lot of old pokemon available overall. Imagine roughly 100 new pokemon that are found in the wild, and the final totals being decently higher than what's shown (which was presumably from a random point in the game). The difference is quite a few old pokemon.

But I guess this is also assuming pokemon never overlap between categories. Like R_N said, it would be really nice to have a lot of exclusively "coastal" pokemon. Sounds interesting. I don't really want there to be too many water types though necessarily. Somehow gen 3 managed to have way too many water types, yet too little diversity in species you actually find.

Edit: Chaoswalker, I believe bw2 had 300, so hopefully we'll get at least that. There should definitely be a higher number of pokemon available each gen to keep up with more being made.

I'd really like if the regional-dex was over 150 since we are practically guaranteed the inclusion of old Pokemon. (looking at you, Diamg and Pearl). Platinum did pretty well with about 200, but I'd like a grand total of at least 250 this generation. After all, we will have nearly 800 soon. They could provide the variety that comes from at least a third of that.

Do my eyes deceive me? Yes! We can finally walk diagonally!

Diagonal motion is mandatory when we have a bloody 3D screen and an analog stick... its surely still going to be a grid system... just with the added ability to go diagonally. Would serve to cut down on random battles a tinge.

I wonder if they will bring back the ability to walk with your Pokemon again...that was a great feature in Y/HG/SS
Also...the Pokedex is it's own thing as won't be intergreated with Pokedex 3D Pro it seems...so no FULLY AWESOME 3D Gen 6 Pokemon like the app I guess...meh...I can live with Cel-shaded I suppose.

I mean, they'll be cell-shaded 3-D sprites...:3

But I assume Game Freak will release either an expansion or an update to the existing Pokédex 3D Pro in order to accomodate the sixth gen Pokémon. I bet that they've probably been working on the 3D sprites for these Pokémon as a side project or something so they can be released in junction (because what better way to sell a Pokédex than release a bunch of unknown Pokémon?).

1. These aren't sprites, they're models
2. They'll probably release a distinct, separate app for 6th gen
3. They've probably been working on the models less as a "side project" and more because they need updated models for all their games (Pokepark, the arcade games, the TCG, this game, future games)

And so the apocalypse begins.

No one ever remembers Colosseum & XD

Pokebeach updated it's website with the potential English names of the 4 Pokemon revealed this weekend:

The goat, Gogoat -> Gogoat. It's a goat that goes. No need to change the name I guess?

The panda, Yancham -> Panchum. Obviously "punch 'em," with the "punch" starting out as "pan" because it's a panda.

The bird, Yayakoma -> Fletchling. Fletching or fledgling + hatchling?

The "lizard," Elikiteru -> Helioptile. A heliophile is any organism attracted to sunlight, so that + reptile?

Wait, those came from the same guy that told WPM about Parabola Charge back in February? Fletchling and Heliptile kind of worry me, because those would be easy for ten year old kids to mess up while trying to annunciate them. Dipthongs don't do Pokemon any good. Also, I don't know whether WPM thinks he's just having fun or not, but he shouldn't be posting everything this guy sends him. We don't know if he has a mixture of real and fake info that he's sending in to Pokebeach, I'd be a bit more cautious until the information is proven/discredited. I mean, we'll know for sure by Wednesday at the earliest, but still.

In other opinions, I'm always happy to see some form of a habitat listing of all the Pokemon, and where you can expect to find any one species. HOWEVER, this
77 central, 51 coastal, 6 mountain
concerns me. will there be 134 Pokemon in the region overall, or 134 new Pokemon? Do those numbers make up a completed Pokedex? How many of those entries overlap in between the three major habitats, if at all?
Tell meeeeeeee.
