E3 2013 | RETR-oh no....

Wow. There is so much to see in the backgrounds of these trailers! What I notice about the stages after watching them a few times:

-Toon Link appears as part of the Spirit Tracks stage on the 3DS version. Does this mean he won't make a return as a fighter?
-Come to think of it, just how many Legend of Zelda stages are there? I already see what appears to be Gerudo Valley, a train, and an island from The Wind Waker. I know there will be different stages for the Wii U and 3DS versions, but still.
-The Smashville stage seems to be making a return, but updated!
-Punch-Out!! stage? Okay. Nintendogs? Sure.Mario stage with spiky shafts and high platforms? Aww yeah!
-Dark Mega Man stage (I'm not too familiar with the series; help me out). BTW, what's the deal with that big yellow thing at the end of the Mega Man video?
-Wii Fit Trainer! Hahahaha!!! Nintendo, you rascals! There's even a stage with a mirror behind it, to boot.

A bit early to reveal the joke character huh?

Man when will they realize that the Metroid Prime suit design is the best one, I'm sure I'll get over how the shoulder pads are in this game but not for some time. I really need to bust out brawl again because I need to be reminded of how much graphical change there is in this game.

At first when I heard the news about the Wii Fit trainer without actually seeing any images or something I thought they were talking about that Balance Board in the game that tells you what to do.

If you dislike WFT you clearly have no idea what this series is about or what makes it great.

Now let's all do a great deal of growing up, K?

What this series is about? It's about showcasing the all-star characters from the best Nintendo franchises (or the best franchises that appear on Nintendo consoles...or Snake) in a huge, party fighting game. Yes, Wii Fit sold a bunch, but no, "Wii Fit Trainer" is not an important or noteworthy character with any personality whatsoever.

Most of the rage is stemming from the fact that Sakurai has mentioned that he won't be focusing too much on a ton of newcomers, so the fact that Wii Fit Trainer is a character very likely means a MUCH MORE deserving character won't be making the cut, like Isaac, King K. Rool, Waluigi, Ridley, Bowser Jr., Palutena, Little Mac, et-fuckin-c.

i think what kromlech meant is that the game was originally (though not w/ brawl, or so much w/ melee) designed with a very comical atmosphere. also, i disagree with a lot of your "more deserving" characters—for example, ridley, bowser jr, and palutena. w/e, wft is in there, these guys aren't; i'm just happy we have megaman.

yea R.O.B. is definitely an all star character

same with pichu

and game n watch

you're saying this as if i endorse those characters too or something.

ridley, bowser jr, and palutena
Characters that are actually important to people and have actually done something and have personalities > Wii Fit Trainer.

It's not the fact that she's in the game, it's the fact that there's gonna be a character way cooler that should've made it in that won't, and every time I see Wii Fit Trainer I'll think to myself, "she got in instead of ____??!" If the roster ends up being like 60 characters strong and everyone I ever wanted is in it, then I will be fine with WFT. Otherwise it's pretty lame.

The fact that Samus will be based on her Other M self worries me. Will we see Adam authorizing attacks? Will we see Ridley triggering another PTSD scene?

Joking aside, I was hoping that the Trainer's Final Smash would have been smacking the opponent with a Balance Board, but I guess using "Soul Body" works too.

I wonder how many (if any) characters will be dropped this time. Will we see Demise rather than Ganondorf? Will Lucario be replaced by Newtwo?

They put in Game & Watch because the creator died during Melee's development cycle and they wanted to honor him, also because it was the grandfather of handheld gaming. R.O.B. got in because he was a marketing tool that sold the NES as a toy instead of a console, getting Nintendo out of the crash of '83. Pichu was dumb.

So I might actually have to get a Wii U now...especially because $250 is suddenly super cheap.

Also, I'm torn between whether to main Mega Man or Wii Fit Trainer.

Captain Falcon, Jiggly Puff, Luigi and Ness won't be confirmed until the last week or so. Classic four hidden characters

So where can we watch the Pokemon conference? It doesn't seem like something Spike would cover much, if at all.

EDIT: Nevermind no one's covering it because it's after the show floor has already closed, and it's supposed to be private anyway.

Mute the video, trust me.

After watching it, tell me; did it look like anything was missing? Like a mechanic that was there before may have been removed?

I didn't seem them dodge once, only rolls and blocks. I'm hoping that was out of choice.

Looks like a speed up brawl outside of that
