Xerneas also learns Thunderbolt and Grass Knot from TMs apparently. I don't know about you guys but Xerneas is looking pretty amazing right now.
 
So during the forced (i think?) legendary battle, if you allow it to use geomancy, and are not able to catch it before it gets a couple of boosts...it'll easily sweep you.

And we've already seen it use what looked like Ice Beam in a trailer, so it probably gets the famous Thunderbolt + Ice Beam "boltbeam" combination.
 
Xerneas' stats are looking to be quite frightening. Geomancy + Power Herb seriously sounds great on a Pokemon with such stats and a pretty great typing. If it switches in on a specially offensive Pokemon that is outsped, he can simply use Geomancy, tank an attack like it's nothing and wreck shit with Moon Blast + coverage moves (I'd say it wouldn't be a far stretch to give Xerneas Earth Power, which happens to pair extremely well with Moon Blast coverage-wise, and then it still has another moveslot to deal with the few Pokemon that resist these moves)

Geomancy sounds nice. Seems like Xearnes might be quite the powerhouse this gen. Avalugg does sound like an ice-type aggron but it can spin to boot.
 
Xernaeas' stats and Geomancy are looking quite impressive, along with its access to Moonblast. So glad they didn't screw it over.

If it uses max defense + HP with an Impish nature it does, but it still has a pretty sad special bulk of 100/40, meaning that unless you want to be forced out by anything with a decent special attack you have to run heavy invetment in that department :c Kinda works like Cryogonal, like many pople have stated before. I'm just kinda concerned that Avalugg won't even be able to keep up with Cryo because Cryo has great speed, which allows him to do things like Reflect before a physical attack heads on its way to destroy mister ice crystal man. Avalugg will just sit there being a frozen turd (but we still like him).

At least there's a good chance he'll get Ice Shard.

It is true beauty is what it is.
 
Kind of a shame that Avalugg isn't Ice/Steel.

Ice only got one new unique typing this gen, and god knows Ice is significantly lacking unique typings.
