Hello, so today I finally got my first almost perfect pokemon with five perfect IVs. But I have no idea on how I should train it to actually become very strong. It's a Rufflet, it's still level one, and I have Pokerus. But I truly have no clue on how to start training it now. Is it okay if I level it with the exp. share? Or should I battle with it? Or like what's the best way to level it up?

Thanks in advance!

I'd do super training for Attack and Speed, as well as battle only pokemon that give appropriate ev's. Go here to learn how to train with horde encounters: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/horde-battles-and-ev-yields.3490052/

Don't know if anyone has tried it; is it possibe to soft-reset roamer? We accidentally encountered Zapdos and our past gen experience tells us that the IVs and nature is locked now. Can you soft-reset the roamers?

Also, Snorlax is in the same boat: Does it respawn a third time? Do the roamer respawn when we knock them down?

As far as I am aware, the Bird only sets when you battle it in the Sea Side Cavern after encountering it around 10 times. It is soft resetable at that point (Remember it will always have 3 flawless IV's too).

As for Snorlax, I have not heard if it respawns... I know there is a second out in the Pokemon Village, but I don't know how to wake that one up.

If I have pokemon x and pokemon y, could I use the GTS to trade items and pokemon between them?

For example if I left a bidoof on X version GTS asking for a froakie, would I see the offer to trade when I open up my Y version game?

In theory yes... But the chances of you being intercepted are extremely high. And that would mean you lose a Pokemon you really like or want to trade across. Best bet is to find a friend with a 3DS and use that for local trading.

Has anybody found any NPC or other evidence that connects this generation to previous ones?
ie: Rocket NPC in LG/FR who hinted that Silver was Giovanni's son, Cynthia in BW/BW2 etc.

I've seen the hiker hinting at a new region this generation, but nothing else besides a few non-notable NPCs saying they've been to another region or something

Literally dozens of hints and throwbacks to other generations, mostly spread across the hotels all over the region.

Also, UnhandledException, the Expert Belt can be found in Lumiose City, according to Serebii. Try talking to some of the 3-500 NPCs there and see if any of them will give it to you.

How do you activate the Looker Bureau event thing? I've beaten the E4 and am in Lumiose now. I've gone to Rouge Plaza, and... nothing... I've heard there's a holo caster message when the event has been triggered but I haven't gotten it yet. Help?
Go to the Looker Bureau, then enter North Avenue from that alley (you'll be right next to a pokemon center at that point). Rollerskate around and in a few seconds you should get a call.

That's where I always got the calls, anyway.

The pokemon you put in the GTS would be Route 1 stuff, like Fletching. Then you just ask for whatever pokemon you're transferring over. There's nothing to lose that way.

Question: Since Gengar is a glass cannon as it is, is it mandatory to have IVs in the other stats other than Special Attack and Speed?

I hate to come back asking about math again, but I'm breeding a 31/31/31/x/31/x and a 31/31/31/x/x/31 Larvitar in the hopes of them making a 31/31/31/x/31/31 baby. Since I'm using destiny knot, what are the odds that this will happen?

Ignoring the chance of receiving a new iv instead of inheriting one, should be around 1/6(lefting out unneeded spa)*1/2(receiving 31 spd)*1/2(receiving 31 spe)=1/24.
Expect one in at most 1 box of eggs.
