OU Pokemon Previews - Index, Rules, and Reservations

ok so i went over this and decided that there are more additional available pokemon that need an analysis. while not all of these pokemon are amazing, we are doing write-ups on some very bad and gimmicky / outclassed pokemon already, so it is justifiable that these pokemon deserve an analysis also. i will be going off of the combined lists in the OP as what is included. if i missed something, please let me know.

scrafty obviously received a pretty big nerf this generation, which sucks for him a lot. fairy types resist his amazing STAB combo and makes scraggy very limited in the moves it can choose. it can still hit fairy types though, and thanks to that it isn't completely left in the dark. you have an absence of a huge amount of traditional scrafty checks like all the powerful fighting types in gen v. it has less threats that can just "muscle" through it with a strong move, and instead it has to have more dedicated counters. i don't predict gliscor to be very popular, and a lack of scarfers just makes scrafty better. it would have to choose between either iron head / ice punch to run a good DD set, but its not like its the worse case scenario for pokemon of its kind. not amazing, but it is analysis worthy and i feel it should at least be included.

roserade received two buffs this generation. one of them was poison being super effective against the new type fairy, and the second one was the ability to run leaf strom / sleep powder / spikes all in one set. roserade is a pretty cool pokemon, and has had a cool niche in gen 5. roserade beats breloom pretty well with a physically inclined set, scares away a lot of common rapid spinners, and is pretty strong offensively overall. roserade has a bigger niche than a lot of pokemon included already.

sharpedo is not amazing but it is pretty cool and useful. speed boost is solid and sharpedo is strong enough to pick off a lot of pokemon. with hazards on the field sharpedo is very dangerous, and although the rain nerf hurt it, it still can hold its ground. it is a solid pokemon that can hold its own thanks to speed boost. fairy types do kind of bother sharpedo, but due to the weaker defense that most of them have, it can break through stuff like florges and sylveon pretty well. not too much changed.

zoroark is not bad. it still can act as a solid bluffer and with the buff of dark type dark pulse is much more spammable and a stronger dark pulse. fairy type IS annoying as always for dark types due to their ability to tank the hits very well. sadly unlike hydreigon zoroark lacks any way to get around them, but it can use illusion to its advantage and be able to bluff / possibly scare away fairy types if used with something like scizor. illusion as always is the main niche here, and it can be used to an advantage. certainly better than other pokemon on the list. not a bad pokemon and it as always has and probably will always have a niche in ou.

these are my suggestions for possible additional OU previews. all are legal and can be used and have their own respective niches, especially in the pre-bank metagame where some key threats are not around.

PDC, I added those Pokemon to the reservation list.

I wanted to write on Delphox, but it says Delphox is reserved. I didn't see any posts reserving it on this thread, though...

Cirlo reserved it in the first reservation thread. However its been a while since he reserved it, I'm going to reassign to you.

Sorry that I didn't post this but Politoed is ready for checks.

Can't provide a link so I'll say its on the second page of analyses as of this post.
