Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Hi,
at everyone having problems with InstaCheck Hotspot, I decompiled the program, and atm I'm reworking it, so it uses the Windows native hotspot feature (netsh wlan set hostednetwork ...) instead of the Virtual Router thing.
My first test was successful, but it isn't that userfriendly because you have to do one thing manually, so I'm working on a help page in the program.

I hope this is allowed, as I'm not the owner of the program

That sounds really great actually! Do you think you could help me get my Instachecker started? :)

Nope. I've been actively using the HomePass for my 3DS for quite some time now. My Miniport is up to date, and working fine (or it was... until I tried using THIS program, and it botched something up... I'll probably have to do a ton of deleting drivers, settings, and who knows what else... again. Just to do StreetPassing again.)

It'd be nice if you could just run the Checker, without having to use it's built-in hotspot program first...
I'm glad I'm not the only one! The Instachecker is awesome, has way more stuff than the trade checker, but I can't use the hotspot, thus I can't use the instachecker either, so if they made a standalone instachecker (shouldn't be too hard to take the virtual router plus away) it'd be awesome :D

I'm sure they wont mind. You're not gaining any monetary benefit from it, and you're there to help people.

I wonder if there is a reason behind needing the hotspot? Maybe the program doesn't have a way to recognize any other internet connection but the built in hotspot? I dunno...I'm just throwing ideas out there. @_@

How do you decompile it? In fact, I'd even be able to do it myself if I could get the program's code.

The program is made to be as user friendly as possible. As such, it's prepared to make the user not have to configure anything (except binding two network devices aint that easy and thus there's a lot of problems, but it's very well thought otherwise).

Since the original trade checker works for me, and this instachecker is based off it, it means that if you took away the virtual router from it, it wouldn't be hard to make instachecker work with a normal pc receiving internet and sharing it with a router (which is my case, as I explained before, I have two ethernet cards in my pc).

That sounds great! I can't wait. This might be the only thing that could solve my problem...

I think that the program works kinda like wireshark in that it reads outgoing packets. Again im just guessing since i havent been able to get mine to work because of the same error i cant seem to fix
The dependency service or group failed to start. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007042C)

Can anyone help me confirm my shiny id? My friend using instacheck said my id was 163. However some guy asked me to help hatch his egg and found out its not shiny.
Since i dont want to be accused of scamming (ie. took his shiny) can someone help me check my shiny id please:(

Not likely, since it just scans what goes through the network through the PC... (That's what the WinPCap does, not Instacheck; Instacheck uses that data... assuming I understand it right).

I would LOVE your un-hotspotted version! I don't care if it's un-user-friendly (bah on User-Friendly!), if it work, fine! ^_^

Edit: Stole an Egg? Just make another. Groups like that bug me, and are one of the reasons I DO support things like PokeGen.
Not to say that's not annoying and rude, but really?

So I'm struggling pretty badly with this program because I cannot seem to run it period. I'm on a VISTA Pc and When I click the program it says:

VirtualRouterPlus has stopped working

And when I tried to do step #3 my Command Prompt said:

The following command was not found: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow.

I went to step 1A and it mentioned my NIC and I do not really know how I can edit that or update that. If I could get help from anyone that understands what I need to do I'd appreciate the help fully because I want to try to help provide shinies to people. Thank you all so very much!

Sincerely,
~Zidane
First, you have wireless access on your computer, yes?
Second, if you type netsh wlan show drivers, does "Hosted network support:" say Yes or No?
If it says no, try updating your drivers. If updating doesn't fix that, then it won't work for you.
Things to try:

Try going to Services (run it from the search/start menu) and make sure that WLAN Autoconfig is set to automatic .

You can go to your device manager, find your wireless network adapter, go to the properties and see which driver version you have. Compare that to the latest version (google your adapter's name + drivers) and make sure it's up to date.

So i found, trading with my friend, that if you are using the Instacheck and show a pokemon to your trading partner, their information comes up. So you don't have to trade with your trading partner to learn about the stats of your pokemon. :D

I'll number everything just so it's easier to read:

1. My computer is a PC so it did not come with a wireless card. I however purchased a wireless networt card but I bought it YEARS ago and never use it now because I just use an Ethernet cable. Could that be my issue? I also don't have my computer set to turn on that wireless card because, again, I'm connected through ethernet cable.

2. I typed netsh wlan show drivers into my Command Prompt and I looked over it about 10 times and I do not see anywhere mentioning Hosted network support. Am I missing something? (UPDATE: Oh when I typed netsh wlan show drivers it showed the drivers to that Wireless card that I said I never use but it still never listed Hosted network support)

3. I did Services and WLAN Autoconfig is set to Automatic

What is the wireless card? Older ones tend to be totally unsupported now, such as mine. (I got lucky and somehow found a custom driver a group had made that worked for it...)

This probably wont fix your problem, however for me i can host networks just fine with ONLY wifi. i dont use an ethernet cable..

No, it was a 6IV egg, they dont fall from tree's you know. And it's not acceptable to let them get away with it.
Not everyone shares the same insensitive mentality as you, to not care whether that their eggs get stolen or not.
Anyway, something has to be said and done to these scammers to put them in the punish corner so they can understand what they did was wrong.

Ok, I finished the program, I hope it works for everyone as good as it worked for me, because on my Laptop I had all kind of errors (OPLOCK, something with services and so on).
You also have to start the program as administrator! Otherwise the console, with is used to start the hotspot, will not have enough right to do so.

I bought the card...let me think...I got it before my son was even conceived and he just turned 3...so yeah this card is between 3-4 years old. =/

I agree! That person shouldn't be traded with anymore. Just my opinion.

Can you explain to me how your program works? :)

I have all the steps ready, but at the end of step, there are no display numbers in the blanks
I 'm sure that my 3DS is connected and i have already choose the right connection
please help me!!!!!

Double check the drop-selection for the Connection you're Scanning, it may default the wrong one (yours with your modem). You want to scan the one that you 3DS is connected.
