Skarmory (I don't have to explain this), Donphan, Hippowdon, Rhyperior, and maybe Swampert (not a physical wall persay) are decent choices.

Ok i am going to have a Dragonite in my team. Its not really an attacker but more of a support pokemon

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Nature: Careful
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/ 78 Atk/ 180 SpDef
~Heal Bell
~Roost
~Dragon Claw
~Fire/Thunder Punch/Earthquake/Stone Edge/ Brick Break/ Thunder Wave

Mainly a Special Wall. I am undecided in the last move slot though. He is going to be in my sunny day team so i was thinking Fire punch but i already have enough fire type moves in my team. Right now im leaning more toward Thunder wave for more support because the only status inducing move i have in my team is sleep powder in the form of a starter roserade. I have no electric type moves on my team at all. so i was thinking thunder punch because that takes out waters that usually carry ice beam

Why would you use Dragonite as a special wall? There is no way you can argue past the fact that it has a 4x Ice weakness, and even if you pick Thunderpunch, you won't be able to even 2HKO the least defensive bulky water you'll ever see, which incidentally is 384 HP/very, very little Defense Milotic, and Swampert completely screws you. You don't even kill Azelf/PorygonZ, among the least defensive special attackers. Gosh, I wish people would realize that Blissey, overused or not, ugly or not, fat or not, is just about the only thing that counters the spectrum of special attackers, and even then only barely.

Is the problem getting Ice Punch/ThunderPunch Metagross getting enough Battle Points to get the move, or breeding a really good Beldum to teach it to?

Followed up by which punch is better? Ice or Thunder?

I dont use bliss because of all the reasons you stated. All i was asking was what move for the last slot. Not all this. I didnt realize that thunder punch doesnt OHKO what i wanted it to ko. Maybe Thunder wave to cripple my opponents pokemon.

Mainly getting a really good Beldum to teach it to. Getting the BP isn't all that hard if you've gotton 3 symbols.

Thunder helps cover what MM and EQ don't best.

Okay, that's what I thought. I've already got enough points for one of the punches, so I guess I'll go with ThunderPunch when I get the chance.

Is using both punches a somewhat usable option?

Do you think Competitive shinies have more value than normal, Good IV pokemon? Assuming IV's are pretty equal. This isn't exactly game related but has been bugging me for while.

It completely depends of the player. I, for example, wouldn't give a shit for a shiny Garchomp, but I would give a world of wonders for a shiny Gardevoir.

Are moves like heal bell and aromatherapy usefull in competative battling?

Yes. I don't need to justify this.

Who cares? In D/P, shinies only make battles take longer, which nobody really likes.

Is the IV's were exactly the same, I'd say to use the shiny, but in all other cases (like a Red Gyarados' Atk IV was 3 lower), I'd go with regular.

But, I'm biased towards Red Gyarados. Heck, I use a 16 Atk one because it's shiny. Red's my weakness.

Question about grass knot. Is there anywhere I can find a chart of how much base damage changes as the foe's become heavier and heavier. How much base damage will Grass Knot have aganist a Gyarados, to make things simpiler.

I just got out of Victoyr Road, and here's my team:

L50 Luxray (Crunch/Spark)
L49 Infernape (Flamethrower/Close Combat)
L48 Empoleon (Surf/Ice Beam)
L49 Staraptor (Brave Bird/Close Combat)
L48 Roserade (Magical Leaf/Sludge Bomb)

Am I ready to take on the E4, or should I run back to Victory Road and level up? If so, what level should I shoot for?

I know this doesn't involve the mechanics of pokemon per se, but, how does one get pictures in their RMT threads? Thanks in advance...

In the damage formula, how big a factor is atk/spatk? I've been trying to figure out EV spreads for my Togekiss, and dropping almost 20 stat points from SpAtk only results in 1%-5% damage loss, while drastically allowing me to drastically increase his survivability (standard Porygon-Z's Tri-Attack after Nasty Plot went from a max of 107% damage to a max of 78%)

Normally I like to max out SpAtk for my Togekiss, who doesn't carry Nasty Plot, but now I don't know if it's the best idea. I dropped it's SpAtk from 372 to 356, and the damage difference is a LOT lower from what I expected.

Although, he does go from a 2HKO to a possible 3HKO on that same Porygon-Z with Air Slash.

(If you're still there)

Eh, somewhat usable describes it pretty well. Ice Punch's 4x effectiveness on the dragons is a nice thing. You definitely want MM as your core attack, and EQ helps hit what MM doesn't very nicely. On a set with 4 attacks, it's a decent option, but I wouldn't use it on agilitygross.

Metagross also does have a few other interesting moves for competition, like Pursuit and Bullet Punch.

I heard that there is a glitch where you can transfer more then one set of Pokemon from FRLG/RSE. How does it work, and what do I need (to do)? I got a DS, and a copy of E/FR, access to another DS if absolutely needed. I only have Emerald for another... 10 hours, and it says I need to wait 24hrs. :|
