Is Substitute + Focus Punch still viable on Gengar? I'd have to train the damn thing in gen IV if I settled on that moveset, which I'm really not looking forward to, so I want to know if it's even worth the effort...

SubPunch Gengar was only used as a way to beat Blissey and Snorlax, and somewhat surprise Scizor. A better way of beating said Pokemon is the Sub+Pain Split set, so i'd recommend using that instead of the SubPunch set that requires you to give up precious SpA EVs. Steel no longer resists ghost now so Gengar can hurt Scizor with Shadow Ball, so yeah.

EDIT: With Excadrill only having access to Iron Head in 5th gen and thus not available yet in X/Y, what should the replacement on the moveset be? I'm planning on Earthquake, Rapid Spin and Rock Slide/Shadow Claw. What should I use on the 4th slot? Or should I use both Rock Slide and Shadow Claw?

Fake Out
Icicle Crash
Pursuit
??

What should I run on Weavile, and is Ice Punch any good over Icicle Crash?

I prefer Ice Shards over Icicle Crash on Weavile since it really needs that priority attack to finish off pokemons. But the last slot can be used for an utility move to give him some value when an attack is not the best option, like Taunt.

Is there a place in the forums where I can get rules regarding Action replay use? Specifically in regards to getting a perfect IV ditto.

no

Run Knock Off somewhere, and replace Icicle Crash with Ice Shard or Ice Punch (Knock Off+Icicle Crash is sadly illegal). Without a Mega Dark resist, your opponent probably won't have anything that can switch into Knock Off, and it's your strongest attack. Ice Shard is needed to revenge kill boosted Dragonites and Scarfed Garchomps. Ditch Fake Out, it doesn't really do anything.

Also consider Low Kick for Tyranitar and co. There's not much you really have to run anyways.

So...I was playing in the battle spot and my opponent at one point sent out a shiny Suicune with sheer cold and extreme speed. I think we can all agree that's hacked, right?

With the buff to Overcoat and Assault Vest/Regenerator Combo would Reuniclus still be best off using Magic Guard as its go to ability? Looking at it as a primary counter/check to M-Venu and from December Stats it looks like Sleep Powder still finds its way onto enough sets.
Yes. Magic Guard is one of the best abilities in the game. It has so many benefits it's not even funny, making Reuniclus immune to damage from toxic, burn, Life Orb, Stealth Rock, Spikes, and even more sources of residual damage. The only Reuniclus sets worth using in OU are the Calm Mind and Trick Room sets, neither of which work with at all with Assault Vest. Because of this, Assault Vest is a bad item choice on Reuniclus. Not only does Reuniclus excel in these roles, but any other set Reuniclus would want to run would be outclassed by other Pokemon such as Latios.

is there any way to get different pokeballs bred onto fossil pokemon? Is there a better place to ask game mechanic questions like this?

C'mon, dude, at least wait for your last post to fall off the page before reposting it.

No, you can't get different pokeballs on fossil Pokemon. Pokeballs are only inherited from the female parent, which means that if a Pokemon cannot be found in the wild, it's impossible to collect in a different Pokeball; this holds true for any Genderless pokemon that can only interbreed with Ditto, as well, because breeding with a Ditto produces offspring in vanilla Pokeballs.

Well, basically confirming what I already knew, but that sucks.

The B/W Ditto analysis recommends this IV spread (2 Atk / 30 SpA / 3 Spe), and I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation? I ask because I have one loaded in my Hidden Hollow on White 2, and I wanted to know before I caught it. Is there a better IV spread for X/Y?

Can move tutor moves from previous gens be passed down as egg moves in 6th gen if both parents knew the move? Like, for example, if two Weavile got tutored Knock Off in 5th gen, were transferred to 6th gen, and stuck in the Daycare, would their kid know Knock Off as well?

Ditto's IVs don't change upon transformation, which means Hidden Power's type can be different than what you are transforming into. That particular IV spread is for Hidden Power Grass. The point of the weird IV spread is that Ditto needs to be as slow as possible in case of a rare Ditto vs. Ditto scenario. You probably don't have to care too much about the IVs because Hidden Power and Ditto vs Ditto are both rare. If you do want a specific Hidden Power, I recommend Fire or Ice instead of Grass because that was the BW NU analysis which mentioned Grass because it was more important (probably, I don't have much experience with BW NU.)

No, move tutor moves don't pass down under any circumstance unless that specific move is also an egg move for that specific Pokemon.

If this is a VGC team, you'll probably have more luck over here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...on-get-a-simple-answer-mark-ii.3470874/unread

If you use u-turn/volt switch and the user is your last pokemon, will it leave play and return causing intimidation etc to trigger again?
