According to Haunter's post in the Victory Road thread, the test is to end two weeks from the day after the post. In other words, it supposedly ends on the 31st of March. However, I'm not sure if this is a final date, so take it with a grain of salt. When exactly does the suspect test for Swagger end?
my ou glicko rating is currently 1762 ± 68
does that mean I affect the usage statistics now? or does the second number have to be a certain value?
From my understanding, you either affect the stats or you don't. You can't "affect them less," unless I'm proven wrong.Aren't the statistics affected by every player, but weighted based on the glicko? I was under the impression it worked like that (like, if my glicko is 1600 it will affect the stats less, but will still affect then a little).
This is incorrect. From my understanding, you either affect the stats or you don't. You can't "affect them less," unless I'm proven wrong.
What this means, or at least this is how I'm interpreting it, is that people at the bottom of the ladder still contribute to the usage stats, but only marginally. The higher your rank is, the more "weight" you carry. Thus:
- The player at the top of the OU ladder right now has a rating of 1933±28, which translates to a weight of 1.0 for both 1500 and 1760 stats, meaning each time that player battles, his or her team contributes roughly 0.00007% to the 1500 stats and 0.002% to the 1760 stats.
- Compared to most "competitive" teams, my OU team is subpar (I'm working on it**). My current rating is 1711±45*. My weighting for 1500 stats is also 1, while my weighting for 1760 is 0.138. This means that one of my battles contributes roughly 0.00007% to the 1500 stats and 0.0003% to the 1760 stats.
- A new player just starting out has a rating of 1500±130. That player's weight is 0.5 under 1500 and 0.0228 for 1760. One battle by such a player contributes roughly 0.00004% to the 1500 stats and roughly 0.00005% to the 1760 stats.
Here's the take-away: unless you're at the very top or the bottom half of the ladder, your contribution to the stats won't change much (if anything it'll rise slightly). But if you're a bad player, your contribution will be removed, and if you're one of the very best players, your contribution will mean a lot, lot more.
I'm not too sure of the answer to your first question, but I believe that the traced ability is lost upon Mega Evolution. Although, I do know that if you switch out, you do not retain the original ability you traced. If I switch in a Gardevoir with Trace in I'll copy my opponent's ability. If after that, I mega evolve, do I lose the traced ability? Or do I now have 2 abilities?
Also, if I switch out, do I get to keep the traced ability when I come back?
Hey guys,
I'm going to build a team around two offensive sets for Talonflame and Swampert and a Phisically Defensive Mega-Venusaur
I am thinking about a good spinner/defogger to complete the team as well as a specially defensive poké.
What would you suggest?
Thanks
why exactly are deoxys-speed and aegislash OU now ? would place them in the lower Uber tier
exists any thread with rules for multi battle?
just want to know if both players can use same pokémon. [ imagine thundurus-i side by side using discharge ]

No...for a spinner, Excadrill. Excadrill is more of an offensive Pokemon, but I think it's the best spinner in the tier as of now, and Mandibuzz is a good physically defensive mon with access to Knock Off, another great move this Generation. Other spinners and defoggers include Latias (a good specially defensive Pokemon) and Mega Blastoise (nice, has Mega Launcher Dark Pulse which takes care of most Ghost-types, but it has no recovery, gets worn down quickly sometimes, and also takes up a Mega Slot). Since you have Talonflame on your team, it gets walled by Rotom-Wash and Tyranitar, both of which Excadrill can beat, so I would suggest Excadrill. As a spinner i would suggest u a specially defensive tentacruel, as a defoger u might as well use a mew since mew is just usefull overall. maybe play it with heal bell and stuff
No, it doesn't exist. Yes, they are a bunch of liars.Does Contrary Serperior exist? How can I get one? Are those people on the GTS offering 6IV HA Snivys for Mew a bunch of liars?
You may be able to get it from hacking, probably lying on the gts. You can't even trade event pokemon on the GTS.Does Contrary Serperior exist? How can I get one? Are those people on the GTS offering 6IV HA Snivys for Mew a bunch of liars?
Those are both really hard pokes to check let alone counter but Gastrodon could work reasonably well against both.I was looking for something on my team that could counter or at least check Thundurus-I and Keldeo in one, and I ended up going for Lanturn because I couldn't think of anything else. Obviously Lanturn is complete ass and has helped my team very little. I would use Mega Venusaur but I already have a mega on my team, so I really need something that can at least reliably check the two of them (I have SpDef Scizor who can get the check in safely with U-Turn so I don't need something to necessarily counter them, though it helps if they can switch in to some of their attacks).
Any suggestions?
Where on PS! do I go to find out what my COIL rating is?
Specially defensive Trevenant can work fairly well against both of them, if it uses the sitrust/harvest set and especially if it has shadow claw, leech seed, and status. Both have to use a weak ice move (HP Ice for Thundy and Icy Wind on Keldy) to deal the most damage and even then it only does a bit more than your sitrus heals. If the Thundy doesn't have taunt, you can even leech seed it to ensure you don't lose to bad luck with harvest (and you can always do that with Keldeo). If it does, you can spam shadow claw and hope you kill him before your harvest gives out.I was looking for something on my team that could counter or at least check Thundurus-I and Keldeo in one, and I ended up going for Lanturn because I couldn't think of anything else.
