I think that, to figure out whether or not it can be done, we should try a community reffing battle.

1v1 LC/NFE/FE, by battler's choice, Singles
Items=Training Only
ASB Arena
2 Chills/5 Recovers
2 subs
No abilities
1 day DQ (for battlers)
Anything I left unspecified will be standard.
This would be a community reffing, so anyone can ref. I will post the OP, so battlers should PM their pokemon to me.
When the match needs reffing, a referee will put a placeholder post reserving the right to ref to him/her for the next hour. If an hour elapses and the ref is still working on reffing, the ref should edit his/her placeholder post to show that he/she still has interest, prolonging their time by a half an hour. The placeholder post should be deleted after the round is reffed or its time elapses. No placeholder posts can be posted while a different person is reffing.
All refs will get the 3 UC for a 1v1 split between them (since 1v1s usually take 2-3 rounds, 1 UC per round, with the leftover 1 UC going to me if there are only 2 rounds, since I made the OP). UC payment happens when the match is over, and is subject to change if a mod, committee member, etc. decide otherwise for payment.EDIT: Texas Cloverleaf said no rewards for this, so ignore this part of the post.
Refs, try to not go overboard in making an easy to read format or making flavor. Just show everything needed, and take your time to not mess up. Also use a basic format that will not annoy anyone since there will be several different refs (probably 3).

You can test it if you want but no one is getting paid anything for this match. Nor any community reffing match until we decide whether or not that's even a format we want to look into.

Also, Mulan, the community reffing thing is never going anywhere if the refs aren't compensated.

I think the bigger deal is no battler compensation. But, now that I think about it, no reward for battlers means that it won't be taken, so it may as well be removed from the queue until we decide that it is worth a try.
