Question about Destiny Bond: If I use Destiny Bond and die from any residual damage at the end of the turn, does the opponent's Pokemon also die?

I am a student at DePaul University doing a study of online communities, and am interested in this site. It would be very helpful to my research to learn about your experiences as a participant. Would you be willing to participate in a short interview? For more information please visit this website:

Hello everyone. I have to use the above because of DePaul. However, it seems a bit impersonal, so I'd like to add a bit about myself at the end here. I've lurked on this site for a little bit, mostly looking at competitive analysis's. I got into competitive battling roughly 3 years ago, but I'm still by no means the best. If anyone who is interested could send me a message, that'd be great. Have a great day everyone. (P.S. If this is the wrong spot for this, I do apologize. There wasn't really a section for 'do research on Competitive Discussions')

I've searched a few places and can't seem to find any conclusive data on what the sleep mechanics currently are. Bulbapedia says it last 1-3 turns but I'm somewhat reluctant to believe that, as are most of the people I've talked to about it on PS!, and there doesn't seem to be any data about the probability of waking that's up to date.

So, in full, what are the current sleep mechanics in gen VI?

So I was thinking of trying out stall, but it turns out that this thing called Landorus-I makes it quite hard to do. Can anyone name some counters, yes counters, that can switch into any Landorus-I move?

No.

It's not exactly unbeatable, but Landorus-I is one of the best answers to stall in the tier, especially with Knock Off. Your best bet is to use Chansey and scout for Knock Off.

Also Goodra is awful, you'd be much better off being weak to Landorus than running Goodra.

He asked for a Landorus counter. AV Goodra with Ice Beam is the only one there is, to my knowledge, since it tanks its moves even after Knock Off and then beats it. I didn't say it was any good generally.

So I just finished breeding my Jolly Rough Skin Gible and I plan on making it a generic Garchomp (252 atk/spe, 4 hp,) and I'd like to know, is Swords Dance still worth using on it? Or would I be better off using Life Orb with 4 attacks? I'm not fond of the Mega set considering the speed drop, and I don't plan on using Sandstorm or Tyranitar so Rough Skin would be a wasted effort.

Also, just on a side note, SoulRed12, could I ask you to add me as a 3DS friend? I don't have any Ghost Safaris yet and Phantump and Lampent are both on my list. You'd be doing me a big favor :P
(EDIT) Sorry for asking in this comment instead of a PM, it's really late for me (3am) and I only really read your Safari list because it caught my eye and I got all excited. Again, I apologize.

I added you back.

Swords dance is great because Chomp really doesn't need 4 attacks. Dragon move, Earthquake, Stone Edge, and you're pretty much golden. Chomp forces lots of switches and it lets you run leftovers if you want. Although, with all the ice shard Mamos running around, it is also nice to be able to just get a powerful EQ off on e.g. Mamo to punish it for switching in.

Oddly enough I was thinking the same Thing.

Some counters I've found: Chansey, blissey (doesn't fear knock off), Milotic, Mantine, Claydol, Cresselia, DeoxysD, articuno, meloetta, vaporeon, Mandibuzz, zapdos Gyarados, MegacharizardY Mega Gardevoir
latias, mew, jellicent, porygon2 and slowking, Bronzong, assault vest tornadusT only fear knock off
altaria and dragonite only fear hp ice

Some of these aren't really ou viable and others require heavy SPD investment, Others have no recovery or are SR weak. Still tho if you want to stop Lando one of these will work.

This is ignoring sand force tho.

While I can't say I've used it much in XY OU, Mandibuzz was a nice check to Landorus-I last generation before Lando was banned. You'll need a specially defensive spread, however, which might compromise its ability to check other Pokemon such as Bisharp.
