Shiny Charm and Masuda Method

well, i dun mind if u want to remove me from this research, but if so i think almost 60% of other breeders are all using hacked mons...LOL

Edit: At least my shinies are bred thru legit means and not "powersaved"....LOL
 
So I changed my target to a Ferroseed and got another relatively quickly!

I can't speak about the rest, but I'm using 6iv dittos that I RNGed in my japanese SoulSilver cardridge. It is perfectly possible to get perfect dittos without hacking.

using a 6/5iv ditto. Geez, i wonder how they got that since the friend safari has max 2 and
3 if your lucky. they are all modify and yet they have no complains using. so i guess we

For your information, breeders use RNG to get a 5/6 iv Ditto.

I find it offensive that you would accuse people you don't even know of being hackers like Pokekid

Pro-Tip: Don't care if it takes you 5,000 eggs to get the Heracross. This thing is so badass I can't stand it. Don't make the same mistake I did and forget to breed Rock Blast onto it though. (Assuming you're going to be using Mega Heracross)
 
Hmmm... My Ditto is a 6IV one, but I got it through WT so I have no idea if it's hacked, RNG'd, or anything. :/

Edit: I'm tempted to try the whole ESV/TSV trick thing. I think I will... Just for this one shiny since I'm so specific about it. u_u But I'll keep hatching anyways.

In my opinion, calling pokekid a "hacker" just because he uses/used PokéGen. He just saves time from actually breeding them until he gets the right egg moves, or a specific PokéBall. This just doesn't change anything with the data we've found up to now.

You know that the TSV thing is not a godlike change, right? You just know if you have the shiny one before you have to hatch all the eggs.

Yes, I do know! I found someone to check a batch of 5 eggs for me, and they reported back that one of them had almost-perfect IV's(5 being 31, and the other being 30) and was male. So I'm looking for someone with its SV(3203) to hatch it for me... I contacted two, one who has definitely been online just since some hours ago+has hatched for other people, so I'm awaiting a reply.

I'm going to resume MM-ing once I get this one hatched. I do prefer to do things like this entirely on my own but this one specific Pokémon had certain criteria which, after the "failed" attempt at getting it on Platinum(I got a female Poochyena with TERRIBLE IV's), I'm too wary about to leave it completely up to chance. :'D

I gotta be honest with you: I'm not sure I can move past the fact that you and lockiegengar12 called everyone that doesn't use a RNG 6IV Ditto a hacker. I think that it's kind of hard for everyone around here to have a japanese copy of SoulSilver/HeartGold to do that. But I'm not trying to start a war, I think that maybe an apology would suffice.

It's not that I'm trying to get into a fight or anything, but I just can't stand the fact that you keep calling pokekid (and, by extension, everyone that is using 6IVs Dittos that are not RNG'd) a hacker. He's one of the top breeders over here, with more than 15 thousand eggs by his own effort and you put that to the trash just because of a different PokéBall? If those 'mons were with over the top numbers, like hacked IVs and EVs, I would probably be complimenting you on that. But, a ball? Come on. We put a gigantic effort into this project, a kind of effort that I'm seeing that you won't be able to do the same, and you simply want everyone to quit? Kind of juvenile, seriously. And, AGAIN, I'm not trying to start a flame war, I just think that you should, like, grow up and stop being so sensitive over something so little.

This is my personal opinion, I think you should keep going. Maybe exchange parents for a while, then coming back to it. I did it with my Charmander (2100 eggs) and then, after 150, I was able to get it. It takes patience.

TSV/ESV things are helpful in that you can gather 30 eggs, check to see if any of the ESVs match your TSVs and hatch those that do. You would still count the 30 eggs as "hatched" because without the TSV/ESV checker you would have to hatch them anyway. Then if you do have shinies, you can hatch it along with the other 29 eggs. But if you don't you can just hard reset and gather 30 more. I wish i could use a TSV/ESV checker but my Mac can't run .Exe :(

I use this method, but 150 eggs per time. And this hard reset thing? I'm not sure how that would work, because you need to save it twice in order to be able to check the TSV of all the eggs.

Oh okay. Then my idea wouldn't work, nor would it for the purpose of this thread. It would work in the sense that you could get one egg, check the ESV, and trade it to a person who had the matching TSV and have them hatch it/trade you back the shiny.
 
Just to clear this up:

I was never calling the lineage of the Pokemon into question, just the Balls they were in. Having a Yamask in a Moon Ball is impossible ingame (Gen 5 Mon + HGSS Apricorn Ball). If whoever is now running this thread is ok with that then fine. But please be aware that distributing these Pokemon on Smogon may get you blacklisted. If you give them away elsewhere, go for it.

Now, let's get you guys back to breeding. Any posts responding to this one will be deleted.

As I told you, I use this method and I still make it work for the purpose of the thread. As soon as my batch is ready, I check the TSV of the eggs with the help of a program that tries to match the TSV of the eggs with the TSV of people I know. But I only count it as a shiny for the Masuda Method if it has my TSV on it. It's essentially just speeding the hatching process, and I can start another batch without needing to hatch 150 eggs. If My TSV matches, I post the results here. If not, I also post it, but I usually cry a little inside =P

I know it's a little off topic, but could you message me how I could do this your way? I don't know my TSV either >.> If not, that's alright. Just curious & would like to speed up the hatching.
 
A bit unrelated: Please tell me I'm not the only person who gets really angry when 'passerby' people randomly ask you for a trade in-game when you're online...only to ask for a shiny Pokémon.
Seriously.

Also, I think I'm going to hunt down a shiny Buneary next... A change from all the gold/yellow-coloured shinies I have/had(Swablu, Poochyena, Giratina, and Exeggcute). Or maybe Zigzagoon. Skitty? Resume the Eevee hunt? I don't even know anymore! @_@
 
Well I hatched 1000 Caterpies and got zero shinies :l

I'm moving on to Squirtle instead. So far I'm at about 30 Squirtle eggs down and not one shiny. I'll keep going until I reach 1000. I just got my wisdom teeth out so I'm just sitting here in pain having nothing else to do :/

Holy cow. I decided agains hatching numels and just started MM'ing for a shiny froakie, and a protean shiny just hatched from the 68th egg. Sadly, it has a 31/31/31/x/31/31 spread, but gosh, that was fast.

I think I'll keep hatching until I find one with a better spread. I have almost two full boxes anyway, so why not?

Edit: My numbers up to now:
276 fletchlings (1 shiny)
68 froakies (1 shiny)

Shiny rate, 1 in 172
