Megas For All (Read the whole 1st post and check current slate)

I know that Megas will be outclassed, but Mega Stantler and Mega Farfetch'd are just so hilariously bad. Farfetch'd, while powerful, is slow, frail and lacks priority, meaning that it loses to practically any offensive Pokemon. While Stantler has terrible offensive stats, terrible offensive typing, no bulk, a useless ability and is outclassed by non-Megas like Alakazam and Latios
Stantler has WoW and SD which neither of those have. How is the ability useless? It basically boosts speed when hit by an SE attack which is perfect for it.

Then again it's Stantler.

It has 73/72/95 bulk, it really can't afford to take a supereffective hit except for maybe U-Turn or Knock Off from a special attacker. However, most special attackers would rather just kill you instead. Normal/Psychic hit barely anything super effectively and are resisted by steel types. Stantler really can't force anything out and doesn't really have bulk to set up swords dance and even if it does manage to set up, it's not that powerful and can easily be revenge killed. Maybe you could burn a physical attacker, but most would smash you first and stantler would probably prefer coverage over WoW

This is why we need a megas for all uu. Make it happen people.
I take the view of making Mega-Evolutions just so they fit with flavour. Making them competitively viable is important too, but I'm content to sacrifice a little power to keep what I envision for them. Given that some of Game Freak's Mega-Evolutions are as low as RU, I think it's okay that some of ours also fall into that category.

This now begins the voting period for the slate of Empoleon, Bibarel, Roserade, and Kricketune. PM your top 3 votes to me, with your 1st getting 3, 2nd getting 2, and 3rd getting 1.

Submissions can be found here: http://www.smogon.com/forums/thread...k-current-slate.3507391/page-116#post-5535856

This also begins the discussion (not submission) period for the slate of:

Rampardos: 255 Atk make it happen
Bastiodon: Drop the rock type and give him a good defensive ability
Mothim: Make QDance sweeping an option
Pachirisu: I'm thinking something good would be good

Not sure you can drop Bastiodon's rock typing since it's its primary typing?

I'd want to emphasize Rampardos' offensive qualities and Bastiodon's defensive ones, following their 'spear' and 'shield' background.

I'm quite happy with Rampardos retaining Sheer Force as its ability. It keeps that much loved attack boost, while not having Rock Head stops it from Head Smashing the world. Mediocre speed and defences seem a must to keep this thing balanced.

Bastiodon really needs help with its defences. Common use of Fighting and Ground type moves make its excellent defences near useless, most of the time. An ability which cuts down on this, say Solid Rock or Filter (both fit well) would be useful here.

I think there will be quite a few submissions based around Solid Rock or Filter for Bastiodon, so I think I'll try a custom ability:
Stalwart: The user cannot use direct attacks. The user gets +1 priority to moves which raise defence and/or special defence.
I would be giving mine Stockpile as a new move to capitalise on this. Stockpile is also limited to 3 boosts, so it doesn't get too insane. With moves like Metal Burst, Counter and I might add Mirror Coat, this could be a really scary stall set.

A move set could be something like:
-Toxic/Stealth Rock/Sleep Talk
-Metal Burst
-Rest
-Stockpile

Scarily resilient, but still carrying those big weaknesses and more or less set up fodder, especially for Steel and Poison types.

Thoughts?

Edit: If this is too much like a submission, I'll remove the moveset.

Bastiodon needs his mask to transform into a shaman's mask so he can get some sort of magical protective effect or something. That or... Special version of Huge Power? Could call it inner shaman.

"Needs"

It's good to be creative, but that's a little far out there.

Guys stop giving things King's Shield

Can we have a rule against dispersing signature moves freely?
While I'm against giving them out willy-nilly, I don't have a problem giving them out when appropriate. So many moves have once been 'signature moves,' I don't think there's anything inherently special about them, other than the Pokemon they've been given to is a suitable fit. I can see why King's Shield could go on Bastiodon. I personally won't be using it, but it's far from unreasonable.

Leaf Blade, Mega Horn, Waterfall, Crabhammer, Spore, Blaze Kick, Muddy Water, Arm Thrust, [Hi]Jump Kick, Tail Glow, Twinneedle, Sharpen, Horn Leech... the same can happen to any move eventually.

Not only the megas need to have a niche compared to other megas (especially since you can use one/two? of them), but they definitely can't be outclassed by non-megas.

Is there any way to make Pachirusu not outclassed by Raikou/Jolteon? Mothim not outclassed by Volcarona?

Honestly we're getting to a point of similarity where we just need to be able to tell they're different pokes. For example, Mega Mothim can be an offensive QD sweeper even though Mega Butterfree is as well, but we'll need to give it a specific reason to be used over it.

What if Pachi became a gliding Squirrel, say a Levitating Electric type. Unlike Eel, it would be defensive and mostly stick to using Nuzzle, Super Fang and Volt Switch to break momentum.
