Hoopa comes first in the Pokédex (720 to Volcanion's 721), so they'll most probably reveal it first, as not to leave an empty space in the dex. Volcanion always weirded me out, it is similar to Heatran in being a volcano-related big Fire/something type with an ability that makes it immune to one of it's types, but Heatran is available in-game while Volcanion is event-exclusive. What kind of movie can be made about Volcanion? It's Pokédex entries provide it with no backstory, which is another thing it has in common with Heatran. There were 3 Heatran in the anime, one belonging to the villain in the Arceus movie, other in a Pokémon Ranger episode, and the worst offender being the one belonging to a nameless background character registering for the Sinnoh league. I'm just curious, but Volcanion just feels out of place among other event-only Pokémon to me.

Volcanion has that sky-high SpA stat even by current standards, while Heatran's stat was very high but not unique. They seem to make extreme stats a trend for event legends like Deoxys while high but unremarkable ones for normal legends like Heatran and Latis (Exception is obviously the Regis).

Don't Heatran and Volcanion have the same base special attack stat though.

Volcanion has like 150 while Heatran has 135. Volcanion is quite a bit slower to compensate.

... what? Volcanion has the same Special Attack stat as Heatran.

Volcanion: 80/110/120/130/90/70
Heatran: 91/90/106/130/106/77

If you're going to make comparisons, at least take a second to look at their stats before making wildly inaccurate statements like that.

Woops, I think I saw an old prediction of Volc's stat and then confused it with Hoopa as well. Very sorry about that.

Am I the only one wondering what they will do with altering cave. It was meant to be an event but eventually nothing was done with it. Maybe they'll put the Friend Safari there and leave the original safari zone intact. Or maybe do something completely different? What do you guys think?

As it was only in Emerald and it was a complete and forgettable failure, I doubt any attention will be paid to it at all. At most a new secret base location will be put there.

Who do you think is going to give the mega ring and Mega stones to your desired starter poke? Steven is most likely, but anyone got any Idea when in the game? (like before going to the 6th Gym, you meet him on the bridge to get the kelceon thing, or granite cave)

Steven would make the most sense, or maybe his dad at Devon Corp. There are some rare stones in the building, maybe they could re-work those to Mega-stones or something?

It would be cool, like Flygonite (hopefully) could be found in the desert, and like Cameruptnite would be found in magma lair and Sharpedonite would be found Aqua Lair (version exclusives) and maybe some mega's found underwater(maybe)?

although these pokemon don't have a comfirmed mega, I'm just giving an idea about where mega stones would be found.

My guess is Steven may give you them when you meet him on Route 118 just after surfing across the river. Perhaps a salesman will offer up the other two starters' stones in the Lilycove Dept. Store? Hopefully you won't have to jump through hoops to get them for a sane price if they do this.

Sorry... this isn't that important, but are the Regis exceptions because of poor stats? 'Cuase stats aren't the issues with the Regis. They have out of this world defense stats. The reason they aren't too good is 2 of them have the worst defensive typings in the game and one of them has the defensive typing that more or less dictates coverage moves and so most things are packing a move to hit it SE. That in combination with only having Rest as recovery makes them all into sub par defensive Pokemon despite having what are still some of the best defensive stats in the game. (Like Regice lives sun boosted Fire Blasts from CHarizard Y for example) but anyway sorry for the tangent...

I believe he meant they're exceptions because their defenses are crazy high for non-event legendary Pokemon.

I wonder if Contests will be the same as in RSE. I liked how strategy-based they were, and wonder if there are other ways to enhace that aspect. Maybe the score for your moves could be influenced by your Contest stats, so if you want to pull a Leer(cool) + Faint Attack(smart) combo in a Smart contest, for example, having a higher Cool stat would improve your score. Or maybe giving small base condition boosts based on your typing, like Psychic-types being smarter but less cool (lol nerds) and Fairies being cuter but less tough.

Fairies being cuter but less tough.
Tell that to Mawile and you might get bit. Twice. ;)

Honestly, I don't think GF would do that. ...Then again, most every Pokemon species seems to have a specific ST shot style associated to them, so... (Dialga is multi-shot?!) I can think of a few new combos that could be implemented, like Moonlight and Moonblast or Play Nice and Play Rough, but going further would be unhealthy for the thread so I'll stop there.

Spoilers:

In the movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Diancie evidently creates its own mega stone. Perhaps bringing the Diancie distributed at the movie into ORAS will trigger an event where Diancie will create its own mega stone instead of the player having to find it or having it handed to them.

About volcanion: People who 'leaked' it from game freak had said that it might be something to do with the black outs at Lumilose (the eiffel tower one), so i recken that around that time in the anime (when ash goes there a second time to fight the gym) it will be released. I doubt theyll make it into a movie because apparently the next one is about groudon and kyogre (they really deserve one).

Also, the reason why the regis arent so common are because of their horid defensive typing (ice's only resistance is ice "/)

So this is sorta off-point but will lucky egg be a gift item in the game? It's been available since b/w and it's near impossible to find it on chansey(i'd know, i always obtained one in platinum taking 3-5hrs.)
Is lucky egg still relevant to your playthroughs? Would it make any difference if it wasn't included in oras?

It wasn't in the original games, (a gift item, that is. You could easily trade one from FR/LG provided they had done the post-game link up to Hoenn) but you never know. I never really used it that much during my X play through, though I had the EXP Share active a fair bit up until right around Laverre City I think, but it's certainly helpful now once EV training is complete and I'm trying to level up the Pokemon. It probably would be very helpful in ORAS if it's available, as there were some points in the original games where grinding becomes a chore thanks to a lack of trainer rematches available and/or lack of really good places to grind against wild Pokemon. Victory Road had up to low-mid 40's and Steven's team is in the mid-high 50's.
