Super Smash Bros 4 (Spoilers ITT)

Ganondorf obviously needs a projectile that could be reflected with a well-timed punch (and re-reflected, and re-re-reflected, and so on...). There's a reason why he's on everybody's minds when they hear the term "tennis boss".

What the fuck is a Falcon Punch? Where has Captain Falcon ever shown that brand of magical ability, or the mobility of Falcon Kick and Falcon Dive outside of his car (which is his Final Smash anyway)?
At the point they decided to put Falcon in Smash Bros., they pretty much needed to come up with a completely original moveset for him because it's not like he ever did any fighting before. He was (is) a racer with no real character development. Maybe that means he shouldn't have been in Smash to begin with but the novelty of such things just added to what made the original Smash 64 so appealing and why it's now one of Nintendo's biggest game series.

thefuckchaser: also they'll prolly reply with something like Ganon has showed a shitload of actual powers to use

Exactly. Ganon(dorf) has plenty of source material to pull from, he has engaged in direct combat many times in his own series. After his original foray into Melee as a clone, he could've been completely redone for Brawl and Nintendo missed the boat on it. I have a suspicion it'll probably remain for Smash 4 because at this point they're probably not going to completely revamp a character that has existed as-is for 12+ years.

Pic of the day. Look at these three radiant pieces... Yup, you guessed it! It's another combinable item like the Dragoon-the Daybreak.

This is what it looks like when all three parts are combined together. How powerful will its beam blast be? FYI, you can fire shooting items while moving backward and forward. Change direction by flicking the Control Stick or Circle Pad toward the back of the fighter.

Mr.E The point I was trying to make was that the reason why people complain about Ganon but not Falcon is because, frankly, they don't care at all about Captain Falcon as a character. If Sakurai found a way to make Falcon accurate to F-Zero and still work as a fighter, you'd all hate it, because you love Falcon the way he is. That's exactly how us Ganondorf mains feel about this issue; unfortunately, we're faced with a rather large group of people who care more about accuracy to the source material than whether or not he's fun to play as. This wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that most Ganon mains will definitely love him if he returns as a semi-clone, but people who want to give him his sword won't be any more likely to play him over any other character if they got their way.

After seeing Ganondorf in Hyrule Warriors Direct, it would seem weird if he remained a Captain Falcon clone. I mean, busting out two swords would certainly make up for going two games as a clone.
If that were reason enough then at the very least they would've redone Ganon for his Brawl appearance because of his dual sword style in Wind Waker (which is why I thought Hyrule Warriors gonna used Dual Swords in the first place). I think MrE is right in that a revamped character should but won't happen.

Ganondorf was my 2nd most played character in melee. I did kind of the like the way he played, but mostly I played him because I like the character. You keep comparing him to Falcon who had nothing in terms of fighting style to draw from, and it's a bit pompous to say that people don't care about Captain Falcon as a character (you're speaking for other people who are not you, but also F-Zero was one of the most requested franchises from the last Nintendo E3). Captain Falcon's playstyle is fast and reckless and this absolutely suits the character as much as anything could given that he was a blank slate. Ganondorf is not. He has options, tons of them. Lots of people want him to have a sword, some want his trident, I'd like to see him depicted as more a warlock (keep him fist fighting, but give him some projectiles). None of these are more accurate than the other, we just want some semblance of what makes this character Ganondorf.

Okay, but, all of these things? They will result in me and many other people not having their favorite character anymore. And while they could just replace his less useful moves with stuff from Zelda, the vast majority of people crying for change seem to want a complete revamp.

I've always liked Smash's interpretation, I just wish they did give him a projectile because of all the tennis battles he's had over the years. Otherwise I like that his Smash incarnations have always been about high-powered attacks that can send opponents flying. He does have the Triforce or Power, after all. I imagine his representation this time will remain true to that, and I don't need swords - but some kind of projectile with a hitstun that lets him catch opponents and start bashing them would be more than fitting. After all, Ganondorf has erected all kinds of magic barriers and the like.

28th anniversary of Metroid without a relevant reveal. The disappoint is real.

Pic of the day. Here's the trophy gallery for the 3DS version. You can rotate the trophies by drawing circles on the bottom screen. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had tons of trophies, but rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl. Looks like the Dr. Wily that we made from scratch for the 3DS version is on his knees in disbelief.

Here's something new--the trophy shop. If you're having a hard time getting certain trophies, why not just buy them? They sometimes go on sale, too.

I'm really hoping they do the same thing with stickers if they're still in the game.

The one trophy I don't have in Brawl is the sticker trophy, because it is so fucking hard to get all the stickers let alone the fact that it is so luck reliant.

Pic of the day. Victini and Xerneas are both support Pokémon. Victini's Victory Star boosts the attack of whoever throws the Poké Ball, and also prevents flinching. Xerneas's Geomancy increases the launch power of all fighters, but exceptionally raises it for whoever had the Poké Ball.

Victini n_n
Also 3DS version alone having more trophies than Brawl... I know Smash has always been a completionist's nightmare but x_x

Why is there more in the 3DS version?

There better be a good enough reason to buy the WiiU version... Cause so far they are pushing the 3DS so hard without any huge news on the WiiU's "perks" over the 3DS version. Graphics are good, but content is better :(

theyre pushing the 3ds so hard because the wii u is going to sell more copies by inherent virtue of having gamecube controllers and single-screen multiplayer, i know i still want wii u > 3ds, smash run doesnt look THAT cool

but the way its worded makes it sound like wii u will have more trophies, since it says "the 3ds version alone...' implying that the wii u has even more
